Even though the real-life Sven-Ole Thorsen stands at 6'5" and Arnold Schwarzenegger is 6'2" the accessories shown in Super7's photos are still comically huge.
The Atlantean Sword prop is barely over three feet in length and Thorgrim's hammer was a few inches shorter than Conan's sword.
I noticed that the photos of Thulsa Doom figure show the daggers sheathed on his waist, and they appear to be the correct size, so the images of the accessories on their own have to be out of scale. It's even more obvious once I noticed the alternate heads are also not shown to scale.
I went back to check photos of the prototype Conan figures shown at Powercon and the weapons look silly big there too, so I'm really unsure what to think. The only thing I'm certain about concerning these figures is that I don't like em.

I will say, the sword does look cool and detailed though. I'd like to get the figure just for the sword.

If you only want the sword and don't mind painting, there is a MUCH cheaper option. Check out the Shapeways seller called Stranger than Fiction and find their Atlantean Sword- there's even two sized options. Sculpt is great, detail fantastic, and even if you get it printed with the most expensive material, it's only ten bucks.

firmpulse 12-09-2019 08:39 AM

Why does Conan's sword have battle damage? When he found it in "Crom's Tomb" or whatever it was perfect. This one is chipped and damaged. I do not want a battle damaged blade.

Dolemite 12-09-2019 09:12 AM

It seems unanimous...Super7's Conan figures are a flop.

In the blu-ray commentary, director John Milius referred to it as the "Atlantean tomb," I believe. I guess meaning Atlantis? If so, a random rock in the middle of nowhere would be an odd place to find it, but whatever.

Bo Ttef 12-09-2019 09:17 AM

Maybe at $25 I would have jumped on these... $30? But $45 is a big pass. Looks like my Conan fix will have to come from Mezco...

BagJo 12-09-2019 09:47 AM

I hope someone from Super7 is lurking this thread. I'm sure it's too late to do anything about this first series of figures, but maybe all the negative feedback could course correct things for a 2nd series.

deecee4 12-09-2019 10:01 AM

I preordered them except for Conan lol. The village raid is probably my favorite part in the entire movie.
I figure I'll display Doom without his helmet flanked by the other guys with their helmets on. A Doom helmet would've been a cool accessory too. Considering these are supposed to be ultimates, they missed the mark a bit with the accessories. But that's cool Conan will have his katars(probably should've read before I posted) but I'm not getting him anyway so oh well.

evilekim 12-10-2019 09:37 AM

Oh boy, what the heck happened to Conan? He looks like a coward with that open mouth expression. The older NECA ones are probably the best likenesses will ever get. Wish they had the rights again to make ultimates. Price and likeness would be much better. Maybe Super7 can redo at least Arnold and do a war paint version as well.

Conan - Home Alone edition.

master kent 12-11-2019 03:55 AM

Neca already made Conan the barbarian movie figures.

Those were basically statues and go for a lot of money on the secondary market. So not really an option for most people. Wish Neca had the license again tho.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but me too.

Conan The Barbarian Update from Super7 - The Toyark - News

RamenRider 12-31-2019 10:47 AM

Okay, I'm actually gonna give them props for updating both the Andre and Conan headsculpts after being criticized about it. Not many companies do that kind of thing, and it's one of the instances where Super7' whole pre-order window and "flexible" release dates come in handy, it lets them actually make changes to products if necessary.

With other companies, you can consider yourself lucky if they make simple changes to colors they screwed up, even though the figure is several months away from release.

Dolemite 12-31-2019 11:09 AM

Yeah, like I said in the Andre thread, at least they're listening to our bitching, owning up to it, and making right by fixing it. Props to them for that.

Whoever the sculptor is they employed for the first round of heads probably isn't getting re-hired after all these do-overs, lol.

dukefett 12-31-2019 11:29 AM

Yeah I'm glad they're going to take another look at these. I'm glad they have whatever deal at BBTS to order these for the same price there, so I can wait and see how they look.

I definitely agree. Placed my pre-order yesterday with Super7 directly as a show of support, so here's hoping they're up to par by the end of 2020.

Augustus10 12-31-2019 10:45 PM

Meanwhile my pre-order and pre-paid Super7 "Masters of the Universe Collector's Choice William Stout Collection" is 6 months late. Was suppose to be shipped this month, and never happened.....

OriginalFire 12-31-2019 11:18 PM

We didn't get a good enough look at the head

Yeah the purpose of the update was to let everyone know they updated the head and they didn't even give a clear shot of the revised sculpt like they did for Andre, hmmmmm..

It's been reported that Mattel took back the MOTU license (because the cartoon series is being revived by Netflix). I have no idea if it affects this line or not. It might be a separate license or fall under an "already in production" exemption.

Do you have it preordered directly through Super7 or another online store?

Brian Flynn/S7 said in an interview this wasn't true. Anyway, the movie & Filmation figures are supposed to be shipping in a couple of weeks.
