"The One:12 Collective Batman – 1989 Edition features an all-new seamless body designed with an internal skeleton armature that is durable yet highly posable. Included are three cowled head portraits – one with movable eyes, achieving a new level of realism for the One:12 Collective."
Also it includes the new swap out cape mechanic that they just added with Supreme Knight. I'd assume that's where the extra $ is going towards. |
Site was rough today... but 20min in and he was still available- Ended up getting him mainly because if they do a CatWoman or joker or Penguin then this guy will be a $$$ to try and get on the back-end.

Damn the site was crashing for me. Finally got that order in though.
Mezco quit with the damn exclusive crap. |
the site keeps timing out and I'm still at it trying....It's saying payment failed and I tried all my payments that I know are fine.
40 mins later it went through. It wouldn't process 2 in my cart. After I changed to 1 it went through. |
Read the flyer on it. Looks like Mezco is going with the seamless body too now. If I read it right, looks like the rubber suit is the full body on an armature. Hope this is true. I love the seamless figures.
|
Now if they do a Batman/Joker two-pack with an alt head or accessory I think I'll be done with Mezco for good. :D
|
So after going through the usual aggravating process at Mezco I was finally able to pre-order this. I tried PayPal 3 times, then re-entered my credit card info and it finally took on the 3rd try. Yay. I know this is beating a dead horse but, I wish Mezco would fix their website. I go through this every time I order one of their exclusives. I’m used to it by now but, it’s still annoying. I love the One:12 line but I’m not a big fan of the ordering process. Now that that’s out of the way, I’m excited about finally getting this guy. Like many I have been anticipating this for a while and it looks like my patience has been rewarded. He looks amazing. This is THE ‘89 Batman! It is by far the best version of this figure out there. I doubt anyone will do a better version. I cannot wait to put him on the shelf.

Bbts has him up for $150. Worth it for me to not deal with the Mezco site.

‘All-New One:12 Collective body with seamless armor and hidden articulation’
I’m interpreting this to mean they’ve created a Phicen (or like that 8 inch Darth Vader) type rubber body with a metal, articulated endoskeleton to perfectly simulate the move aesthetic and actually allow for poseability with joints that are resilient enough to not be sprung back to a neutral position by the suit material. If this is the case then it goes quite a way to explaining the price. Either way I don’t even think it’s possible for me to order this so, once again, thanks Mezco. All I ever want is your exclusives but they’re just not attainable. |
Ordered as well. My Neca Keaton Batman scares me every time I move him. This will at least have a decorative stand and should be able to hold the grappling gun.
|
Holy S&/+! I actually got to order one an hour and a half after it went up AND I was able to use a cc instead of Paypal for the first time in over a year.

My wife says that she's taking Batman as soon as he comes out and stashing him as an X-mas present coz I'm "impossible to shop for" and she's "sick of the headache" …
I guess that works. |

ANYHOO... it's not a given for the metal skeleton. Phicen/tbleague used plastic first, to limited success. Phicen also use silicon, which has slightly more elasticity. Phicen have TONS of posability. I think your Vader comparison is more apt. I have that, and it's a beautiful sculpt, but very limited posability, because one arm is locked and I don't want to break it, and the rest is hindered by the thick rubber. If Mezco uses silicon and metal, it'll be fantastic. If it's plastic and rubber, it'll still look good, but I'll be far less likely to change poses. Regardless, silicon and rubber shouldn't be posed in extreme poses for any length of time. Both will tear like a cheap "Bend-em" coated-wire toy. |
Yep, looks like a doll.
|
Easy pass, especially for that price. The NECA version is quite good already. Glad I got it when it first came out.
|
...and he's officially Waitlisted now. Was wondering how long they would keep the pre-orders open since he is supposedly being "Made-to-Order"

While it was effectively guaranteed high sales since the rumors started years ago, the exclusivity will help people overlook some things that may not be terrific, like if the seamless body is a dud. |

I’ve got several One:12 figures and they feel a lot more durable. This Keaton bat will look amazing next to the tactical justice league bat. |
