Very nice. Can't wait to pick this guy up. Considering the price this line isn't so bad. Scorpion and Sub-Zero's faces looked way better in person and Sub-zero was a little goofy in his shape and was also really hard to pose as his legs are permanently angled. It also sucks that he lacks fist and/or flat hands the gripping hands limit what you can do with him. Johnny Cage and Raiden were massive improvements over the first wave albeit a little tall but overall much better than the first wave. Hopefully subsequent waves continue improve and hopefully they give us more exchangeable hands especially fists.

I am guessing the MK DLC characters Shang Tsung, Nightwolf and Sindel are a given. I am thinking Joker is also likely given they also have the DC license. That leaves the T-800. I wonder if that's even possible given it's in the game, however, the license is held by NECA.

Many of the sites that cover horror films (such as bloodydisgusting.com) have covered the legal woes extensively...other film and pop culture sites such as screen rant, Looper, etc have also run coverage.

In the case of Freddy, there was a legal loophole that allowed the property to return the the Craven estate once 35 years passed from the original deal with New Line.

New Line was able to countersue if I remember correctly (it's been a while since I read the story,) and rather than drag the battle out for years through the courts, the Craven estate settled with New Line, opting to give them the rights to the character and films internationally, while they in turned retained the rights stateside.

Why would the others be a given when they haven't remotely finished the main roster? Unless you're talking about licensing in which case yeah of course the MK characters are included with the MK license.

As you mentioned, McFarlane does not have the Terminator license so his presence in the game is not enough to be able to make him.

About time McFarlane decided to do a Spawn figure with working articulation. His last 2 Spawn figures were a definite pass to me due to being more of being statues than action figures.

A given in the sense that if they go the whole hog they'll likely do the DLC characters with the exception of the T-800. Essentially there's nothing stoping them other than the popularity of the line. I'm more curious if the T-800s inclusion in the game opens up a possible licensing loophole. I personally don't know the ins and outs of product licensing so consider it wishful thinking.

Omg!!!!

A great example of this situation is quite some time ago now someone asked NECA if they could do the Alien and Predator as seen in MKX and the response was a no because it would require that NECA also had the MK license. Almost any guest character in a game is its own licensing deal so naturally the studio that owns the character isn't going to give the game developer the ability to dole out licenses for a character that they're already borrowing. Although NECA did do the Dark Fate Terminator and that is his default MK11 skin so you could just use that figure.

I am excited to see how long this Line lives.

If the Sales are good and MCFarlane produces
Liu Kang, some Villains, unmasked Scorpion and
unmasked Sub Zero maybe....

Or if he just cancels
The Line right in the Middle,
like Mezco and Jaszwares did.

I am very happy with Sub Zero and Scorpion so far.

For 20$ the Quality is REALLY good,
compared to other 20$ Toys
or older Spawn Figures, that had many breakage issues.

Already Pre Ordered Raiden, will grab Spawn for sure.

Really would like to know if Farlane will produce an
Unmasked Spawn also, and if he has an unmasked Skin in MK11

OK, seriously...why do you type like you're writing in haiku in the first place?

DarkEyes 01-30-2020 05:47 AM

He looks fantastic!

icecreamman 01-30-2020 07:23 AM

Looks great. Been waiting for an articulated Spawn. I want this one! :)

I'll take a haiku over Herman Melville ANY day.

Specialized Japanese poetry form that generally fits a specific word or syllable pattern of 5 - 7- 5.

I still have Toybiz Legendary Heroes wave 1 & 2. Baf PITT w/ Timmy is cool. I got it way cheap bc the line didnt even sell a case where I live, so Walmart had them down to $3 (at the time) each. Wave 2 I had to pay regular price for ..(which was 9.99 wasn't it? Lol)

I was making a reference to how McFarlane has screwed up slam-dunks in the past, like his Animated Batman that's a bizarre mishmash of two styles, or the useless/ ugly articulation in half the other DC figures that makes them look like mationettes haha

Wish the cape wasn't fixed to the body. I'd love to remove/replace it cleanly. Still it looks good.

Comedian 02-21-2020 09:35 AM

Well, I’m impressed.

metalalchemist 02-21-2020 12:14 PM

Proof that good looking figures can still be done at an affordable price (cough-- hasbro bastards --cough)
