I like boss fight and I like Flash Gordon. I dont know that I like either to the time of $44.99 plus tax and shipping though. And I work from home so a lunch box is just just junk to me.

I mean no one actually uses the lunch boxes as lunch boxes...

Man the colors really pop on these!

Jester 08-11-2020 03:44 PM

I will curse the family of the first person to say "I wish these were 6" scale" unto the seventh generation...

iRandom 08-11-2020 06:05 PM

I wish these were ... uh, never mind.

These have a really nice look. Great sculpting with a bit of exaggeration in the facial features that I feel adds to the charm. Great color palette on each.

Sean C 08-11-2020 07:29 PM

I think I speak for everyone here when I say, DEATH TO MING!!

New photo of the figures side-by-side was released.

They look great, but having just been stung for import duty on my last Boss Fight Order which meant 2 blanks and 2 saddles ended up costing $137, I'm gonna have to skip these and just stick to Zorro.

ghostbogey 08-14-2020 04:08 AM

Not Bad, Not Bad...
I wonder if they will do the Space Ship? To some, a Rocket Ship.
A ship would be cool for Flash.

Thor Laserpunch 08-14-2020 04:51 AM

How sweet are these hehn?? Except that big ass elbow gap is a bit unsightly wowzers. Yeah too bad they’re not 6” though.

I feel like I did hear of some larger scale Flash Gordon figures or am I misremembering Defenders of the Planets from NECA?

Also, someone needs to do Kit Walker Phantom in striped drawers.

Pre-Orders Live for the Flash Gordon Comic Figures by Boss Fight Studio - The Toyark - News

Nayt Navare 08-14-2020 02:27 PM

Super cool but I'll wait until they're released. I'm s waiting on an order from last year, almost a literal year ago. I'd be more forgiving with timely updates but I know they're trying, at least.

Bo Ttef 08-14-2020 02:52 PM

It's vintage Flash Gordon, of course I had to order them (and I'm DONE with 1:18)

holy moses. that's unnecessary.

1) I love boss fight, it's hand down the best 1/18 stuff on the market, but they certainly need someone to do the "non-art" work.

negotiating reasonable shipping rates isn't terribly difficult. communication with their customer base. a website that isn't busch league.
I know they're still a tiny operation, but they've moved out of the basement. time to spread their wings and outsource some, no other term I can think of, professionalism.

I bet there are some talented people out there that would like an internship working them to help achieve those aims. this is all speculative, but I've seen it in several other situations.

2) these are the first paint samples I've seen out of them, since the very beginning, that look "sloppy?"
they look like they were painted with children's tempera paint. and the flash on ming's cape? weird.

Nimrod 08-14-2020 06:29 PM

$26 for a 4' scale fig?? No way. 6; scale I could see.

On one hand, I get you. On the other hand, they operate on a smaller level and have less spread of overhead. They kinda don't have a choice, and starved for 4" I am, neither do I. Still, no fault to you. ^-^

To be fair, it's more a combination of the quite high costs of what they sell, then the shipping, then the duty. They can't do anything about the duty, but at my end it makes it difficult to justify ordering anything.

Boss Fight Studio - Flash Gordon Movie Figure with Lunchbox Set Available Today - The Toyark - News

Passing on this line. Been burned twice now on the 6" and 3.75" Flash lines from Biff Bang Pow, neither of which ever did a 2nd wave to complete the full main cast since the sales probably weren't strong enough for either. I have no faith in Boss Fight doing the full cast either, given their past track record with lines like Bucky O'Hare. I'd be shocked if we got more than a couple Flash figures and Ming in this line. There just doesn't seem to be enough collector demand to keep a 1980 Flash line long-lasting, as proven with the previous attempts at action figure lines for it.

HunterKnight 01-08-2021 03:58 PM

Who is this guy again? Ok pass.

It's on the Sci-fi channel on Comcast ;) ...sometimes. or it's on Comcast/,Cable somewhere iirc it's that channel, though.

Not sure why you mentioned Bucky O'Hare. They have wave 4 coming out on that line and have made and released the other 3 waves already. ;)

Bruiser and Mimi Lafloo FINALLY shipped a couple months ago after being on preorder for a year, and rumor is this is the last figures we're getting in the line. Nothing more was shown all 2020, when they could have revealed more figures for preorder in anticipation of a 2021 release. So yeah, it seems we'll never get the rest of the main characters from the original toy line/cartoon. :(

Looks really well made, I'm curious to feel that articulation in hand.

What would you guys say is the most posable/best articulated 1/18 line? I really want to get into collecting a line.

Check out Joy Toys. They are pricey but, they are amazing figures. Well made well thought out.
