I had a longer response but the forums seem to be limiting my writing. I share your disappointment on the knees and hips!

Plus, I hate when a company advertises something as fully articulate and it is really only partially or in this case halfly articulate. False advertising.

Sooo...big changes. They've decided to add additional articulation (exact details TBA). They've re-devided the figures into two waves again, and added a moonbuggy to Wave 1. Wave 1 now consists Alan Carter in spacesuit w/Moonbuggy, and John Koenig in spacesuit. John, Helena, and Alan in Alpha uniforms will now be Wave 2. Apparently Wave 1 ships in December. Any preorders will be refunded and new ordering will have to be done. No pics yet of the Moonbuggy...

Wow! I just got a notification about it. Very interesting. I wrote them a scathing letter about my disappointment with the lack of action in their action figures. I never thought they would have listened. Obviously a lot of fans felt the same way. I gotta give them a lot of credit.

It'll be interesting to see the type of additional articulation the figures receive. I'm wondering if they're going to be using a soft vinyl on the tunics to allow for hip joints...that would seem to be the main articulation obstacle for the Alpha uniforms. Unsure how they'll work it out on the spacesuits. I guess they must have had the Moonbuggy CAD ready to go if the line proved popular? December seems too close if they have to get an all new item designed and tooled. Good news is that mentioned Victor Bergman would probably be in the next wave, completing the John-Helena-Victor trifecta. Still, many folks on Facebook are having a decidedly mixed reaction to this news...

Not on Facebook much. I guess I'll have to take a look. I am puzzled by the mixed reaction though as anything would be an improvement to the "statues" they were initially planning on. Two things I did point out to them in my letter were 1. Have a look at the Mafex 2001 astronaut figures for a guide. The suits are very similar and they have full articulation without sacrificing aesthetic. And 2, even the Mattel 9 inch dolls could sit in their chairs.

Hey all,
Has any company done a decent quality release of pre-built ship miniatures for this licence in the last 10-15 years? I don't see anything from a quick online search, but thought it couldn't hurt to ask some of the sci-fi fans on this board. I'm specifically interested in the Eagles, especially if they're at least partly die-cast (a la Eaglemoss). |
This entire string has been about sixteen12.com formerly Product Enterprise.

Just got an email from Sixteen 12 on the Koenig/Carter action figures with pictures of the CAD files, including the new moon buggy. Interesting how they've managed to fide the front of the knee joint in the folds of the spacesuit. Unfortunately they won't be able to do that with the coming uniformed figures, but tradeoffs I guess.

I just thought I would mention that the US Space Force figures are due soon, only because the Russian space suit looks a lot like the Eagle pilot suits.
