Wolverine looks great, but no other hands is baffling to say the least.

ludovicotek 07-23-2020 09:12 AM

Fuuuuuuuuuuck! That Wolvie is so bought.

graphyt 07-23-2020 09:27 AM

Huh. Wolverine looks better than the first version. Not sure if its an illusion from the color way or if there's been some retooling. New claws are nice.

Downside with the Batman mold is the original version has a different body shape. New Batman is a lot more angular than TAS.

JbombTheGreat 07-23-2020 12:01 PM

This Wolverine really does look better than the first one. The claws seem to be of a much more appropriate length and curvature. The unmasked head sculpt looks good too.

But I assume that's the most obvious repaint coming up, right?

It's MAFEX, it should be done much like they did for the HUSH Batman they are about to produce. I would be very happy if and when that comes out, with more faces and accessories, and I'd probably double dip, unlike for the Hush version.

That being said, this version gives me hope that they might be doing a few other Justice League toon figures. I was never really satisfied with what DC gave us in the past in terms of quality and articulation. I've kept a few but I've been over having dozens of versions of characters (and of characters I do not feel too strong for) for awhile now.

(Wolvie looks good and nothing more to add from previous post, slight minor retools and changes, but again just always have fingers crossed and cautious for QC)

Exceptions do not make rules. And that artwork sucks on top of it.

Wel, yeah, it sucks...that was my point when I posted the second image. And those two images aren't even lone exceptions. Art Adams, Sam Kieth, Erik Larsen, John Byrne and Todd McFarlane all drew him with the long ears wearing the brown.

I'm probably one of the only people happy that Mafex is doing TNBA Batman instead of BTAS. I loooove the redesigns. Batman, Robin, Batgirl, Joker, Catwoman and especially Scarecrow look so much cooler with the redesigns in my opinion. I've preordered at two locations. Can't wait!

That is some crap art. For my $$, the top 2 wolvy artists ever were John Byrne & Jim Lee.
