I dig these. I’m not at all familiar with the story these are based on, but as others have said, the figures have actually piqued my interest to go read it.

I completely understand the Batman fatigue, but in all honesty, he’s the character that sells. Plus, McFarlane is absolutely killing it with the overall quality of these figures. I got the White Knight Azrael figure and was seriously impressed with how awesome it is. Magnificent and unique sculpt. All the articulation you could want. Paint apps on point. I mean, it was seriously difficult to find any flaws or minor nitpicks. And that’s been the norm with all his DC stuff, at least as far as actual execution goes. His stuff is just getting better and better.

And I can’t agree that these Batman figures are killing off his other lines. I highly doubt they have any affect on the other things he makes. Pretty sure if the other lines actually sold well enough then we’d be seeing more from them. Shit, I still see GOT and Harry Potter figures on the shelves at my Target and Walmart. People just didn’t buy them in the amounts needed for them to continue. That’s most likely what will happen with the Dune figures. Can’t imagine those are going to big sellers. Different story for MK. Those seemed to have sold well. Hence why we’re still seeing new releases.

But back to these DC figures. Yeah, I’d definitely like to see a deeper roster see the light of day, but this will never be DCUC. It’s unfortunate. But I have absolutely enjoyed the figures I’ve bought so far (which is more than I initially anticipated). I guess I’m one of the suckers. I don’t know. I like them and will continue buying the stuff I like.

If he's the character that sells, why does every Walmart and Target I go to have 6 different versions of Batman just collecting dust? There's two different colored versions of the Animated one, two colored versions of the standard Batman, the Arkham Asylum one, and the Babadook looking one. Actually, I'm sure there is a 7th I have seen.

Probably because those figures were over-packed per case. Plus, the first series of McDC figures left a lot to be desired, honestly. But when I said Batman is the character that sells, I meant in terms of merchandising. Batman is a merchandise juggernaut. That’s probably why Todd has focused on Batman-centric storylines.

I think we'll see a second Dune wave. probably not a 3rd one until part 2- but there have to be some troops coming down the line

I completely agree
I also feel like he’s trolling us with this Wonder Woman, we should’ve gotten a comic WW to complement the WW84 figs (which I think look pretty terrible and were probably rushed just to get something out to satisfy WB’s licensing agreements...) like how we got two Batmen and two Supermen in the first wave. This one looks great from the neck down, but the Mohawk head for a first comic WW? For fuck’s sake...

Then he should have just called the toyline Batman Multiverse instead of DC Multiverse since DC implies the entire universe.

ThorOdinson123 09-19-2020 09:46 PM

Enough with the fucking batman figures already. What do I gotta do to get some Occult characters IE John Constantine Swamp Thing Etrigan Dr Fate Zatanna Deadman etc

Except DC wanted the line to be called DC Multiverse. McFarlane didn't want to call it that because of confusion with Mattel's line. He said so in the initial interview after it was announced that he gained the license. Also, it's funny that you said "his entitled bitch ass" when you're the poster boy for entitlement whining. "He's not making what I want! Fuck him!"

If you think my wanting non-Batman characters makes me entitled then you don't have a grasp of what entitlement actually is, but whatever. I'm not going to argue.

You're not entitled for wanting them, but you do act like an entitled brat when you don't get what you want. You spew profanity-laced negative speech all over these boards, acting like you've been personally affronted by toy companies. In one case, you even demanded an apology from a company because you didn't get your way. But, I suppose you have a better grasp on what entitlement means, because you actually called Todd McFarlane, a self-made millionaire, a delusional dummy and suggested he stick his highly successful line of action figures up his "entitled bitch ass".

I can almost guarantee that if Mcfarlane was putting out every figure that your little heart desired, you would be bitching about the 7" scale or the articulation or the paint or some other tiny issue that you take umbrage with. I'd put money on it.

warmachine6 09-20-2020 09:55 AM

Don't you think it would be better for a DC Comic figure line to do something other than one character ?

The amount of Bat-related character's Mcfarlane have given us is a bit much its like he's trying to beat the marvel legends wolverine.

i think he should say okay im going to have at least 1 batman figure per wave rather then the majority.

Look at how many batman figures are in this guide https://figurelist.co/dc-multiverse-checklist/#2020

It'd be nice to finish off teams or get a justice league or whatever.

First off, you need to learn how to read the difference between being pissed off and being sarcastic. Two totally different things.

Why would I bitch about the 7inch scale? I've got no problem with the scale. I had no problem with Icons being exactly 6inches either. I don't need my DC Universe to scale exactly the same as my Marvel figures. I still do pictures with my Figuarts and Hasbro figures despite them not being in scale with each other.

Only way to find out though is for Todd to give us a Silver Age Flash line. If I bitch about that, you can call me out on it. Until then, shut up.

First off, it's the internet, there is no way to "read" sarcasm. So, in every post on every thread where it reads like your throwing a tantrum, it's just you being sarcastic? Maybe you need to learn how to better portray your sarcasm, then.

Second off, Ok. You wouldn't bitch about the scale. Fine. But, there'd be something. Oh, yes, there would be something.

Third off, there is no way to find out because you already swore off all McFarlane releases during your tantrum…err..sarcastic rant.

Fourth off, I do show pretty good restraint most of the time when I run across one of your misinformed ignorant tirades, but sometimes I just can't hold my tongue (or typing fingers). And with that, I will shut up.

No worries man, it's cool. This quarantine has really been driving me nuts so I've been going off more than I should. Sorry.

When im stressed....a glass of scotch and a good cigar helps. ;)

Dune, I wanted so much more than 4 figures all in still suits. I mean we get a 12 inch Harkonan but not a regular size?? And we get Lady Jessica and not Shanti??? As pumped as I am for the new Dune , I almost would have rather had figures from the Fincher one

I don't drink or smoke. I need my money for the plastic crack. Usually I play GTA and shoot countless amount of people, but I have not had time to do so since I'm working so much.

Fincher didn't make Dune, also you're in the wrong thread. And yeah, a very odd decision to make a 12 inch baron.

AceSimulacrum 09-23-2020 10:09 AM

We all are getting Batman fatigue.
That being said, something to be said of McFarlane making figures for different versions/comic stories of Batman. They look overall pretty good. My main gripe or me voicing concern/hope is that the company needs to run the full main cast (with villains) and we're only really seeing it generally with the Dark Knights Metal.

Back on topic, that Omega looks nice and I think could be slightly altered to make a Teen Titans Red X and Slade/Deathstroke. Hope that's in the pipeline along with others to go with that Cyborg.

Man Wonder Woman looks amazing! May snag her and do a headswap with a DC Direct Wonder Woman!

En Sabah Nerd 11-12-2020 10:21 AM

I think my big problem with McFarlane's BAF waves is that the figures in these assortments cost more than the standard releases. So where a regular McFarlane DC figure is $20 the BAF wave ones are $25, it's not buy 4 get the 5th free it's buy 5 for the price of 5 but if you only wanted the 5th you gotta buy the other 4 too. Looking at how they were able to release The Devastator as a single $20 priced figure it seems like they could've done the same for Bane and made it a 5 figure wave for $20 a piece.
