So that's the Batman that's supposed to ride the bike. But could he? His coat does not look flexible.

I'm not as down on that wave as some of you. It wasnt bad... it just wasnt perfect so a bunch of you whined and called it trash. McFarlane wave 1 Superman was good, Nightwing was good, Batgirl was fine, Batmen had a small head... but the rest was fine. The Armored Superman and Batman figures are fan favorites!

Jeremyj27D 09-23-2020 09:13 AM

Since McFarlane loves Batman so much I would really like to see his take on Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.

More wasted figures. It's too bad this line won't be around for long. They sell for shit because of the size and no BAFs. The industry numbers on these are horrible. They rot on pegs in every major retailer. Had they just marketed them right, packaged them with BAF pieces and at the right size, they would have done great and held their value. Oh well. IT's a shame. I have seen 3 separate Marvel Legends waves come and go while the same Batman/Superman figures sit there. I know Target has a weird deal where they can't clearance them for a year. Who does that? The Wonder Woman movie figures looked nice as hell, too bad no one will ever buy them. DC keeps making the same mistakes over and over with their movies and their figures. When will they learn? It's a bummer too, because I am way more of a DC than Marvel guy.

Hey Chicken Little, besides anecdotal evidence, do you have any hard sales numbers to back up those claims?

Yeah, I have no numbers either. At the targets and Walmarts I check (and that's a lot recently due to Cobra Island) - yes SOME wave 1 stuff is sitting. BUT, they have been restocking on top of that with the newer waves, and those all go in and out. Even Wonder Woman is moving or gone. Nightwing, Harley, Arrow, GL Animated, Batgirl, TBWL, Arkham wave, White Knight wave, Metals wave 1 - stocked and gone for most part. Exceptions yes, but bottom line - most are selling through. They just over packed those Batman/Supermans at the start.

Later figures are more desired. Ones announced but not out even more desired. And Build a Figures are coming. So I think once those Wave 1 duds get moved out one way or another those pegs will be empty due to selling out. We shall see though.

All I see on pegs are Animated Supes/ Batman and Classic Batman, arguably the ugliest figures of the first wave. I realize mine is just anecdotal evidence as well, but I can go into almost any Target or Walmart and find numerous MCU wasps and whole sets of the Captain Marvel wave, but that doesn't mean Legends as a whole is failing! Same with DC Multiverse!

Exactly. I am almost scared once those things are gone and people who are casual start seeing these good ones, picking up one or two on a whim, then getting hooked. By this time next year the MCF pegs are gonna be going Cobra Island style, hunting wise.

Out of the original selection of DC figures, most have sold in my area. The only figure I see consistently is the animated Batman. As for the rest, it varies from store to store. What hangs on the pegs at Target may have sold out at Walmart and vice versa. The one group of figures that didn't stick around long were White Knight figures. I might find a Batman or Joker still hanging around but those pegs have largely been cleared off because those are great figures.

Speaking of great figures, I picked up the four Metal Batman figures today. I had originally only planned on getting Devastator but once I saw Dawnbreaker and the Murder Machine, I immediately wanted them. Todd was right, people (me at least) want cool figures.

Zeorn 09-24-2020 08:21 PM

So I went by Walmart for the first time in a month because I can never find anything there and they had White Knight Batman and Jokers along with an Azrael. All the old stuff was gone.

I was only interested in the Azrael and it scanned as $15.88 instead of $19.99 to my surprise. I have no clue why, but BBTS are charging $29.99 for him for some reason so finding him in store was much cheaper. So maybe check your Walmarts for discounted McFarlane stuff?

The next wave of Metal figures ( Devastator, Dawnbreaker, Death Machine, and Grim Knight ) are all coming out October 1st. Could be the store was making room-- on top of that, the Merciless BAF wave is set to ship from Amazon on the 14th of October, so lots of new stock coming in.

Comedian 09-25-2020 03:53 AM

Oddly enough, many Walmart’s by me were restocked a few weeks ago with series 1. New stuff is coming in, but slow. Mine had a case of just white knight joker....strange.

That’s why I order full waves online now. I have so many preorders at so many sites my head is spinning. I just follow the links provided here and preorder. I believe, I have preorders at over 4 sites.lol.

Just found the full wave of Metal figures at Walmart. Devastator, Dawnbreaker, Death Machine, and Grim Knight. $15 each. Incredible value. Especially Devastator. Really makes you realize how much money Hasbro is making off Legends, especially considering the parts re-use. Each of the McFarlane figures are completely unique sculpts. Highly detailed. Wonderful paint apps. Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Marvel Legends, but what McFarlane is doing is truly impressive. Especially for the price point. I know a lot of people aren’t happy with the character selection (or lack thereof), but the figures that are being released are on point.

Hasbro must be incredibly avaricious...and only getting worse now that they're trying to pass off an extra accessory or two as qualifying a figure for the "deluxe" price-point...

En Sabah Nerd 09-27-2020 07:12 PM

For what it's worth the $15 price is due to a sale, standard msrp for the Multiverse line is still $20.

They're $24.99 in Canada. All of Hasbro's stuff is $29.99.

Ouch, I can't account for that. I guess Hasbro has something against Canada.

To think that they used to give us little maple leaf flag and "Canada" decals with their G.I. Joe vehicles...
