Also those stactions Neca put out were really cool but regardless not sure how that ruined the 200x series. In fact, they came out after things winded down with the series and toyline, iirc. |
Teela's head unfortunately looks off model to the show.

After watching the show now and enjoying it, it actually makes these toys appealing whereas before I didn't care.
I can understand people who don't dig the writing and that's always a fair criticism. Some stories hit and some don't for people. But when I hear people throwing around "pushing agendas," I just imagine them watching the show, spitting out their Cap'n Crunch and yelling "EWWWWWWWWW! GIRLS!" Which is.....whatever. You do you. |

I went into the show being skeptical and expecting the worst after all the negative hate on Twitter and elsewhere about it from those who saw early viewings. But I ended up really enjoying it. It's a great "series finale" for the original show that then transitions into something new and creative with quite the cliffhanger ending. I'm looking forward to the 2nd half of the season to see how this all plays out next.
Regarding the figures, I picked up wave 1 at Walmart and the Battle Cat and Skelegod at Target a week ago. I'll be all in for anymore Revelations figures. I'm surprised Spikor is in wave 2 though since he had such a minor cameo in the first half of season 1. Mer-Man would have made more sense. Also I was shocked to see Wun-Dar and Vikor in the Preternia scenes, so I hope we get Revelations style versions of them eventually. I wonder if they'll do a classic style figure of Teela eventually too, as depicted in the opening of Episode 1 and the later flashback scenes. |

And for me personally, my 3 favorite characters are Stinkor, Spikor & Clawful. Spikor never even made it into the line. And right when they got to Stinkor & Clawful they made those stupid statues. So that was like a really bad stinging burn for me personally. I collected the entire line, I had every single toy released. Every single variant. Then making my favorite characters into those statues was the same as kicking me in the balls as hard as you can. I don't like statues, I like action figures. Big difference. Also, Clawful's mace snapped in half the second I tried to put it in his hand/claw. And then there was that whole fiasco with Classics & Mattycollector. Mail order only, the shipping was stupid overpriced & people had nothing but trouble ordering. I didn't even waste my time with Classics. They charged like $20 for shipping. I couldn't afford to collect that line. |
Wait! So this is just the first half of season 1? When does the second half air? I thought these 5 episodes were the whole season 1. That's good news. What if the second half is awesome & all the haters are made to look totally stupid? That would be the coolest thing.

Btw, I seem to remember Clawful's mace being made of plastic not resin but, could be misremembering. It didnt seem like he was able to have a solid grasp on it and I was concerned about paint rub so never bothered to have him hold it. |

Well, at least nobody got their gender switched to female because they were an effeminate male originally (looking at you, Netflix Saint Seiya).

i didnt really care for the show a whole lot but will still get the figures. i love the teela, man at arms and spikor look pretty much how they always looked so no issue there. beastman is easily the weakest of the wave but nothing terrible.

SPOILERS
Here’s my theory. Adam is dead. Like dead dead. Because he can’t go back to Preternia so he proceeds into oblivion. Skeletor gets beat. Teela takes the sword. Teela becomes the new He-Man. Like she ACTUALLY transitions into a man when she takes the power of Grayskull. Transformation and “true forms” are a massive theme in this iteration. Think back to the comment made about Adam in Preternia. He was the only hero that “chose his lesser form”. The other heroes chose their He-Forms because those in Preternia "choose their forms". It would be single most radical change to an 80’s property in history. They race swapped Grayskull and Andra. Smith has already shown he’s “shaking stuff up.” This is a massive vanity project for him. Based on traded looks between Teela and Andra I think the showrunners are hinting Teela is gay. Why not go the extra mile and have assume her "true form"? That's how the second half of the season concludes. You heard it here first. |
How can a 2002 show be "ruined 4evah!" just because statues from that show was released? That doesn't make any sense at all. It's like going to your favorite restaurant and then you throw a tantrum to the manager that you will not eat in that restaurant anymore all because your hated rival eats there too.
And speaking of toys, I'll just get a He-Man figure and ignore the rest of this line. |

I’ve watched the 5 episodes now 3 times each. I REALLY love the direction Kevin Smith went. It honors the 22min stupid (but lovable) Filmmation toy commercials, the original pack-in comics (first comics I had as a kid. Helped me learn to read), and the early reader books. It’s the animated version of the MOTUC line… it honors the original, but takes the original and beefs it up to a 9.5. I’m completely jazzed about season 1 part II now.
Teela is not being groomed to become He-Man. She’s finally hinted at her true power since the original toy… the next Sorceress! He-Man won’t stay dead. If Camp Cretaceous is anything to go by, He-Man will have 4 seasons before the end of the year. Lol I was very sick recently and couldn’t move a muscle so I binge watched 80’s He-Man cartoons. Figured it’d be good prep for the new cartoon starting … those haven’t aged well at all. Even with 40 years worth of nostalgia, it was cringe worthy (coming from a guy who could watch season 1 of transformers every year and not feel bored for an instant). This cartoon and the 200x cartoons are 10000x better. Yes, the filmmation started it all for many (myself included) but the He-Man franchise desperately needs a fresh coat of paint. Hopefully Netflix and Mattel keep this show going, but it’d be hard to do with a celebrity cast. Mark Hammill sticks with shows, but I’m not sure how committed SMG is to voice work. Long may the new Masters reign! |

Adam will become He-Man once again; Teela will be elevated into her true destiny. They can finally stand alongside each other as equals, no more secrets. |
I also figured on them hinting at the new Sorceress connection. Given those serpentine masks Teela and Andra were wearing when looking for that one gauntlet thing I was hoping to finally see her with the cobra headdress. Maybe they'll bring out the Goddess. You know, green Teela. I did find it weird that they made Preternia into some sort of Valhalla.

I actually enjoyed the show. I watched it twice. The fight sequences were fantastic. I absolutely LOVE the Sword of Power's design in this iteration. The best yet. I sincerely hope I am wrong. There is a tremendous amount of talk about transformation and true forms that is definitely foreshadowing something big. I certainly hope it is that Teela comes to inherit the power of The Sorceress from her mother. Scare Glow saw something that frightened him. Did you notice the three glowing bits of light on Teela's forehead at the conclusion of that confrontation? What did that represent? |
