Just realized, with the turtle limbs they could make figures of Bulk and Skull in their purple and orange Ranger uniforms!

I just want to specify it'll be the 3rd mmpr Ranger in my collection, since I'm grabbing all rangers, and trying to avoid grabbing rereleases.

Nah man, these are soo totally different, I totally feel justified seeing the same figure being put out for preorder for the 3rd time in under 3 months, twice now being packed with exclusives that are unobtainable without buying it again. The differences here totally justify it though. Totally.

Get rid of that hideous bulbous head she came with.

This is all I can think of with that, lol

Dr Kain 08-03-2021 10:54 PM

Such a waste. They have ranger teams that haven't been finished in over a year, main villains that have yet to be done for those series they have partial teams out for, yet, they go and waste time on a spin-off what if story from a franchise that already has a million different iterations available.

Never unseeing this now.

JerpJerp 08-03-2021 11:45 PM

They got me with the Black Ranger Don and Leo. Don as Black ranger are my two fav characters combined.
As for the rest, not so much maybe. April should have the thicker thighs. So should the turtles for that matter.

It fun these actually came into existence. They will fit great with any Hasbro collection. Marvel Legends, Fortnite, The actual Power Rangers...sadly I have very little of these collection but it's cool.
For what they are they look well done.

Lightning Series prototypes tend to not be the same as the final product as of late.

No Hasbro hasn't poached the license for TMNT, I think given the circumstances it was probably easier to make a deal for PR TMNT designs. I doubt we'll see the turtles in their normal look.

Sans paint apps, the actually sculpted details tend to match the final product.

It's based on the TMNT/PR comic series crossover.

On a positive note, I never want to hear Hasbro ever say they can't do Sentai only costumes in toy form since they just scraped from the bottom of the barrel with these TMNT ones.

I think we all know it's based on the comic at this point. Just doesn't mean they have the TMNT license beyond that. It may even be they have limitations. They can do morphed Turtles but they can't do them unmorphed like they were depicted in the series.

They've done Drakkon and Ranger Slayer. I think it's more can they do sentai only costumes like Dairanger or Fiveman(which is where Psycho Green comes from).

Archangel 08-04-2021 10:23 AM

Well, I said I wasn’t buying these, but I want that JDF ninja. Anyone want to buy Ralpie?

OriginalFire 08-04-2021 10:26 AM

What othe characters were in the comic

My bad then, I misunderstood the post.

I don't see why any Sentai costume would be off-limits considering Hasbro own the US rights to Super Sentai, so they own every series. Not to mention they were all used in Super Mega Force.

BWfan86 08-04-2021 11:56 AM

Not a fan of the 2-pack offerings, since I just wanted one but figure that is probably the way they are going to sell best.

Bit on the Raph one. Drawn in by the crossover between 2 of the biggest TV shows/ toy lines of my childhood.

IzzyTipsy 08-04-2021 02:03 PM

Just realized that April is 25, and here has the body of a high schooler!

They have Power Rangers, they don't necessarily have the license to do Super Sentai figures. Likely if it never appeared on screen in a Power Rangers show (or in this case a Boom! Studio comic), Hasbro can't make a figure out of it.

Augustus10 08-04-2021 06:09 PM

And still no single pack Rita...

I'm not saying that it's in the cards that we could see non-morphed TMNT, but I think it's at least a remote possiblity. DC Collectibles was able to make regular TMNT figures for the Batman vs TMNT animated movie. If DCC can make TMNT figures, then why not Hasbro?

The Turtles' regular designs are unique to the Boom Studios comic. And outside of reissues, Playmates isn't releasing any TMNT figures at the moment.

Designincase 08-04-2021 08:32 PM

Let's be fair. We simply don't know what deals Hasbro has with Nickelodeon on TMNT. Nothing really prevents Nick from giving Hasbro some rights.

They do though because Saban had the license for all Sentai shows. That's why Shout! Factory was able to release Jetman on DVD and was planning on doing Fiveman had Saban not sold themselves off to Hasbro and royally fuck the whole thing up via paperwork.

Like you said, DC made the figures specific to the movie, which was produced by Warner Bros, Nickelodeon, and DC Entertainment. Considering the ownership, DCC producing the figures makes the most sense as Nickelodeon doesn't have a major toy producer/distributor under it. All DC had to do was tell Nickelodeon they'd do all the work producing and distributing it and split some of the profit with them. It isn't like Nickelodeon could have gotten someone else to make them because DC wouldn't allow that.

Obviously, because it was only the rights to the movie, they couldn't produce other TMNT characters or versions of characters that didn't appear in the movie though.

The shows and the footage, yes, but not necessarily the merchandise. Basically nothing predating MMPR/Zyuranger is available for Hasbro to make figures (unless they were to go negotiate for it from Bandai of Japan, and all indications are that Hasbro has no interest in doing that).

BoosterGold 08-05-2021 05:35 AM

Doubling up on the nostalgia is an instant win with me. Atleast as far as the turtles are concerned, if the ninja rangers look good the completist in me may take over.

Yeah, what's up with that. Especially because the two pack one had really shitty paint apps, at least on mine. So many black scrapes on her face it's ridiculous quality control.

I just skipped it bcs I already had Zedd and felt the single pack would inevitably be released in the next wave. Well Hasbro threw me a curve ball. Rita is the last "must have" character in this line for me.

After that I might pick up the monsters/// but hoping they wind it down and start-up a D&D action figure line.
