Wtf those heman heads…they fixed the size but the whole sculpt is bad. The hair, the look *bleck* come on MATTEL!
|
He-Man isn't enough of an improvement to make me get him over the first release. Skeletor annoyingly is but I still don't want too. Mer-Man and Teela are must-haves, though. I wasn't sure they would do a classic style Teela, hopefully this means classic Lynand God-Lyn are likelier than not.
|
That Teela looks better with the long hair. Mer-Man looks so bland. Where's his armor?
|
Like Beast-Man, Mer-Man dressed skimpier post-timeskip for furry fanservice.

I wonder if that Teela hair down head would fit on the first version. That would be a cool look.
|
Aye, it should do. Wave 2 Teela and Wave 1 Evil-Lyn have the same size neck joint and I've seen Wave 2 Teela wearing Wave 3 Andra's masked head so I assume they all share a common female neck joint so I see no reason that should change for Wave 4 Teela. But sometimes toy companies like to screw with ya. lol

After the first episode of MOTUR, the story jumps ahead a few years.
|
I was hoping for the Sorceress Teela from the finale...

It's really a 10 episode season Netflix arbitrarily cut in half. It works well enough when you watch it.

It supposedly has to do with sales of the wave 1 figures, along with some fan reaction. I personally won't be sad to see them go. The post-time skip looks were never to my taste (particularly Teela) and the pre-time skip characters were marred by the small head issue. I'd rather they focus on New Eternia designs or updating some of the classic looks with the new articulation. |

I bloody love 'time-skip Teela'. And not just because she looks like the mother of my kid used to (before she got long covid that made her have to give up her job as personal trainer and other related things). I just think she has a great look to her. Just wish the head on the action figure looked more like the one on the show. The figure's facial features are far too soft like she's a kid instead of a strong woman and has a very blank soulless stare lol. |

I already have an extensive MOTUC collection so I'd almost prefer Mattel to not take Masterverse in that direction and tempt me to buy everyone again. But I would have a hard time passing up a Filmation-looking Evil-Lyn, the upcoming New Eternia She-Ra, or a Classic Sorceress. I was actually pleased that the Revelations Skeletor, He-Man, and Man-at-Arms looked so bad (again, small head syndrome and bizarre Skeletor head sculpt) but the New Eternia Skeletor has brought me back in. |

The hell you on about with that last bit. He-Man and Skeletor are great figures that just needed better heads. Which I bought from a customiser. Man-At-Arms though already looked aces and is one of my favourite figures I've ever owned. I even just bought the Origins Wind Raider for him to sit in after my mate showed me they fit together. lol. Classic Man-At-Arms had some nice extra details aye (it wasn't designed for animation after all) but the head was still mostly based on the weird squished looking square head of the original figure which always bugged the hell out of me as a kid and why I hate the Origins figure even if it has his moustache that was missing off the vintage lol. I'm super happy with the Revelation figure. I just wish he had a few more accessories like a gun or tools or something in addition to his orange club. And Rev Man-At-Arms has got himself quite a following now too and the nickname 'Daddy Duncan'. lol. |

You swore at me as though you thought I was crazy, and then completely agreed with my point. I passed on Revelations He-Man and Skeletor because of the heads (too small, weird sculpts) and you just agreed they need better heads. Man-At-Arms has the same problem. His head is too small for his body. They explained at some point that this was the Revelations style when defending it. It's why the New Eternia figures have more properly sized heads (or at least seem to). All of the reviews talked about this for He-Man, Skeletor, and Man-At-Arms (along with Evil-Lyn's lack of a neck). I will agree with you that MOTUC never made a good "normal" He-Man or Skeletor. All of my MOTUC Skeletors use custom heads. But I think this New Eternia version looks pretty good. |

I'm going to step away from this discussion now because I enjoyed it and don't want it to get acrimonious. Suffice it say, I hope you get the Revelations figures you want someday, but I'd prefer to get updated 80s versions (with properly sized heads). :) |

I have to go google 'acrimonious' because I'm a little ashamed to say I don't know that word lol. If my kid was here I bet he'd know it. He's a right little brainiac. The good kind. Not the shrinking city kind that Superman keeps foiling the plans of. lol. But aye have a good day, mate. Just nabbed another of my mate's pics of his He-Man lol. I need to try painting some extra apps onto mine. But aye he has the Battle Cat I haven't managed to get yet. But aye this looks like my ideal He-Man here. https://i.imgur.com/eCrv3Rn.jpg |
