Go on over to Hisstank for pages and pages of discussions/arguments about Destro's mask/face. Ha ha.

Batman Beyond also came to my mind, but oh well, since Steel's suit can do so many techy things, guess his mask is also able to move ;)

Thanks for the pics though, mate. I was going to try google a lil later on when I had a bit more time but you saved me the trouble. I appreciate it. Cheers.

You're very welcome; I went on a re-read through some digital copies of these stories when the figure was announced so I had it all handy.

Forgot about that one, even though they use a very similar brand of mask XD

Mafex should do George Perez based classic Martian Manhunter, Red Tornado, Hawkman, Firestorm, GL, GA, & all the other members of the Satellite era along with the big 3 as a way to honor the best JLA comic book artist ever.

Don't give them any ideas. I'd be broke as hell!

Oh God, please no. Those would invariably turn out amazing, and I’d be thrilled… but I’d also go absolutely broke. Martian Manhunter, Firestorm, & Zatanna are my three favorite DC heroes.

Nimrod 06-23-2022 10:24 AM

Mafex needs to start doing small boxsets & 2 packs instead of individual monthly releases. A JLA Perez based wave starting with a 3 pack of Superman/Batman/Wonderwoman, then a 2 pack of Green Arrow/Black Canary, Hawkman/Hawkgirl 2 pack, Martian Manhunter/Green Lantern, Firestorm/Red Tornado, Flash/Aquaman, Zatanna/Elongated Man & finally an Atom fig.

But that would put the prices up and annoy folk just wanting to buy one figure out of each of those groupings, no?

deecee4 06-23-2022 11:35 AM

I'd rather Medicom made Garcia Lopez JLA figures. Would be very interested in a Perez classic Cyborg though.

A 3 pack of GP Supes/Bats/WW would go for about $275-$300, 2 packs for around $175-$190, Can always sell off the fig you don't want, though I don't see how anyone could not wanna collect an entire GP Satellite era JLA

I think you folk have a lot higher income than I do lol. I'd have difficulty saving up for that initial purchase before I could sell any of it off.

Arachnid13 06-23-2022 12:29 PM

So umm, why do we have steel when we don’t have supergirl?

Because they've been doing a Return of Superman sub line, and hes a part of that.

Because my heart says yes but my brain and my wallet say "no, it's Mafex, so gotta go quality over quantity"

Because they haven't gotten to her yet I suppose? If they're doing Death and Return figures, I can see them putting out the "Matrix" Supergirl from that era to fit in.

Dr Kain 06-23-2022 12:55 PM

How about a Mafex Jonah Hex!!!

Well yeah ofc, but I would think supergirl would be the higher priority and would have been made already in a separate line or the same line, I mean she did appear in death of Superman didn’t she?

Total BS. A comic based Cap to go along with comic Thor/Ironman is what needs to be done along with other classic comic based Avengers & Doomsday to continue the "Death of Superman" line that they started with Cyborg Supes/Black costume Supes & Steel.

RamenRider 06-24-2022 11:52 AM

To cut them some slack though, no harm done in releasing "safe" bets that sell and thus refuel the budget cannons.

Also, Scarlet Spider is cool, and many people want a classic Spider-Man. And I would happily take many more Spider-suits if they would make them, like 2099 for example.

We will get more classic comic goodness soon enough.

SpasticPlastic 06-24-2022 03:30 PM

I get why they do it. That's 2 months straight without a DC reveal, though.

GizmoTron 06-24-2022 07:12 PM

Technically those Spider-Men are classic comic goodness to me, so it's all good.

Nimrod 06-25-2022 07:14 AM

Since they did 2 marvel comic figs this month they should give us 2 DC comic figs next month, Doomsday & Superboy.

2 DC figures would help the balance, for sure. Though, I'd say Hush Tim Drake and Superboy would be better.

Thatannoyingguy 06-25-2022 09:43 AM

90’s Superboy must happen. Since they’re so obsessed with Spider-Man, they should definitely do a Spider-Girl with Ben Reilly’s webbed costume design. They should also start working on a George Perez Wonder Woman. I’m personally so done with X-Men, The Boys, and Endgame line (that Rescue reveal pissed me off). Needs comic Wonder Woman, comic Hulk (not MCU version!), Knightfall Bane, Hush Poison Ivy, etc. Yellow oval Batman can come later, and I mean 2 years later or something. Too many Batman figures right now. And please, no more Zack Snyder figures.

This I could see happening soon-ish. Mafex has yet to venture towards bigger, more muscular characters. And considering how much they reuse bodies (to great effect I must admit), Hulk seems like the perfect starting point since he only wears pants.

Then they can reuse that mold for lots of different characters with "hulking" proportions. Bane, Doomsday etc., and that's not even mentioning all the different Hulks and Hulk characters they could release.
