Morph was killed in the series premiere but was brought back to life by Sinister in Season Two. He was a recurring character after that. Everyone who watched the X-Men cartoon (probably the majority of Marvel Legends collectors) knows who Morph is. Once this VHS line was announced there's no way Hasbro didn't receive requests for Morph. The list of "core" Marvel Legends that need a figure (or an update) is getting shorter and shorter. This inclusion really isn't a stretch. And by the way, criticizing Hasbro for making this figure while demanding Firelord be made stinks of hypocrisy. |
I cried when morph died. He he

I for one love Morph. The plotline of his death starting off the series always resonated with me and helped get me instantly hooked. That aside, the other positive i see here is that if they're making Morph, it implies they are making more. I'm personally expecting this line to continue until i have a marvel legends version of that shot in the end of the opening sequence where all the heroes and all the (major) villains are running toward each other. If we get figures like (animated series cell shaded) Apocalypse, Sabretooth, Magneto, Archangel, etc. - this line could be really awesome once all together.

Morph could have been an “extra” head to swap on the Forge body, though that one had cuffed boots. So it’s cool he got his own release

I dunno... I mean, I don't agree with OP, but I've definitely seen much dumber comments here. I mean, just the other day some complete moron complained about the Mojo box set while calling out others for complaining about the Mojo box set. Pretty dumb. |
Of all the very legit criticisms you can make of ML, “They should be giving us the core heroes and villains first” is probably the most baffling I’ve seen in quite a while. Even in this specific animated sub-line, Morph was preceded by A-listers like Wolverine, Storm and Jean Grey.
|
Cool... can we get a Morph without the cell shading to match the rest of my X-men?
Should be an easy repaint... |
If anyone watched the Pulse-a-thon a few months back, they you'd know that the Hasbro marketing team treated this as a special favor to the cartoon producers, because Morph was an important driver for a lot of the characterizations in the 90s toon.
What would be unsaid icing on the cake would be if the ball joint for his head fits a bunch of other already released Marvel Legend figures. After all, what is a shapeshifter who can't shape shift? |

I’m sure those legs will be on an animated Cyclops soon.

By the way, saying Hasbro "wasted resources" on Mojo, Dazzler, and Longshot and calling them "80's trash" wasn't a complaint. It's a testament to the line that Hasbro is willing to flesh out all corners in the Marvel Universe, and maybe you guys should be a little more grateful as opposed to finding reasons to b****. Do you see ANY other toy line going this deep into the bench? Maybe Super7 and NECA with TMNT? Guess that went over your head. What a shock. Maybe you should watch who you call a moron. |
Morph looks utterly perfect. Its just sad he doesnt have swappable arms, but thats my only gripe.

Anyway back to Morph, he's got generic ML face syndrome, but still an instant buy for me. |
Why does his evil face look right but not his regular one?

When you can barely see the cel shading what is even the point of the cel shading... even though it is better when you can barely see it. Great evil headsculpt though I must say.
|
I agree about the normal face having the generic ML curse. Both the expression is wrong for Morph and the deep lines the animation did for his cheekbones didn’t translate to the sculpts at all. The issue is less noticeable in the evil sculpt because it has a proper expression and the additional paint. Will buy and just use the evil head.

that regular morph head sucks
the villain one is good. the single jointed arms suck the new legs are good and ya morph is a highly fan demanded character for years. plus wolverine talks about him like every epsiode. which is hilarious because he was rude to him for the brief time he knew him. |
