Really stupid, yes.

the significance of the dog is lost on me, unless maybe it becomes more clear in the film.
The dog has a "blink and you'll miss it" shot in the original GotG film as one of The Collector's...um, collection. I think he was in a short post-credit scene too.

Like I said, it's a ridiculous premise and a total waste to base an entire BAF on. Hasbro is kicking all known forms of ass with the GI Joe Classified line (which I'm overjoyed about), but they're seriously pissing in the mouths of Marvel Legends fans at this point with this garbage.

Cosmo also appears in the Holiday Special and is sort of a member of the team now.

Not sure he's the worst BAF ever, not while the original Rocket, Hit-Monkey, and Puck exist. Definitely an unexpected choice.

Funny I prefer the diaphragm solid torso look over the ab crunch as you can see light coming through drax's torso and it really breaks up the sculpt. Hopefully the new ones have a solid range of motion

I resent how they basically chucked the arguably definitive Starlin / Lim designs, a deliberate insult to the fans and creators, much like they spat on Captain Marvel, my favorite character in the old Marvel universe.

That’s great for you, but figure posing enthusiasts won’t be happy with an Adam Warlock sporting the articulation of a 10-year-old figure; retro design and feel, but for today's prices - what a bargain. Without butterflies, an ab crunch, or waist swivel this figure has the posing ability of 2013’s Red She Hulk, which, for those familiar, isn’t good (there’s some consolation in that at least they didn’t revisit the Y-joint hips).

K Dubious 02-23-2023 07:52 AM

I don't think we are quite to the end of days of legends, but the solid square torso is very reminiscent of the direction they took with the 3.75" figures.

Quiet quitting seems to be the new thing and quietly killing the line with new inferior sculpts is something Hasbro is familiar with.

They started making new 3.75" figures with less articulation, softer plastic, less accessories, at an increased the price! This feels very deja-vu-esque!

At least the Adam Warlock figure has the little skull pendant thingy. Sort of.

I still say it's kinda pointless introducing Warlock to the MCU now that the whole Infinity Gauntlet storyline is concluded and Thanos is dead.

Deluxe Groot with wings is $38.99

Yeah I just notice when I put the retro beast in some dynamic poses most of the torso movement comes from the diaphragm cut vs the ab crunch, but it does help I just don't like when you can see the gap in the ab crunch. Plus I'm OK with Adam Warlock being more of a static poser.

I wish he has a karmic staff too.

Gonna be hard to top the infinity saga but I can't wait to see the xmen... or maybe xforce or x factor for the woke crowd done in mcu style. Krakoa time?

I didn't collect Universe but remember the complaints about the decline you’re referencing. 3.75” collectors made comments on the Legends thread expressing feeling abandoned for the 6” line. I was worried things would eventual reach a similar inflection point when Hasbro announced Joe and purchased Power Rangers. Are they going to put in the same effort and attention to detail when working on a licensed property? I think the answer becomes clear when comparing Classified to Legends. There are also several Power Rangers figs that showcase greater amounts of attention than do most canon Legends. I know better now the pain of the Marvel Universe collector as I’m the latest cast off from Hasbro’s discarded fanbase tree.

I love those Beast figures that come out during that time..imo, still the best looking version of him in figure form. Even though the articulation was absolutely terrible.
