I spent about the cost of a single Super 7 figure for the whole line of Hasbro. I'm not the intended demographic for the show so Hasbro attempt is fine to me.

It's been my experience with Super7 that they will go on sale.

My Hasbro versions of Hank and Sheila are just fine.

I don't know if this will get deleted or not, and I am not trying to get political, but the economy is good -very good.
Every key economic indicator reveals that.
That doesn't discount your personal experience, but I keep seeing people say the economy is bad, and it's not.
We have unfulfilled positions at my job because candidates are turning us down. They have other job offers -sometimes multiple job offers when they come in for the interview.
I just watched a YouTube video sandwiched between ads training for welders and then electricians because neither industry can meet the demand. That's a sign of a good economy.

Toy prices are starting to come down in spots, too.

This would have been at least $20 more if it released last year.

This is half of what Bandai is charging for a similar product of arguably inferior quality.
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...Details/231857

This is re-releasing at $60 less than when it came out during COVID inflation.
https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Produ...ils/203020?o=4

Those prices re still high, my electric bill is still three times what it should be and my grocery bill is still too damn high. I'm cutting my budget because I'm still losing $1,000 a month because while prices are coming down, they are coming down slowly and from a VERY elevated level. Is it an improvement? Yes, but it still isn't to pre-pandemic levels. $55 is just too much for these figures and many companies are using the economy still not being as good to inflate their prices.

This is what they're showing:

IzzyTipsy 01-10-2024 07:45 AM

They definitely look good although as usual I'm sure the skirts limit leg posability. Not that anyone will have them sitting.

firmpulse 01-10-2024 08:07 AM

Man. They'll get me if their Venger is better than Hasbro's piss poor attempt. I may get Hank. But 60 bucks is ROUGH. Uhg.

Do you mean the arrow being on the outside? Thats actually correct, even though it looks off. I remember having a back & forth about that on a character design I submitted a few years back and apparently the arrow is supposed to lay on the outside. His right hand looks off to me though.

Pointing out that your specific employer-and I couldn't help but notice you didn't share your occupation-can't fill positions, sharing what ads you see on Youtube, and throwing out three random toys from one retailer is not proof that the economy is "good-very good".

That's purely an observation on my part based only on the amount of pre-orders and delays I've casually noticed. So this is a legit question with zero snark.

Well, they had a crowdfunder blow up in their face, several Ultimates! figures cancelled, retailers selling said Ultimates! as low as $11, and apparently they will not be moving forward with Disney-related properties, which includes The Simpsons.

So that's what's happening.

deecee4 01-10-2024 12:47 PM

Looks like S7 cancelled the Simpsons & Disney Ultimates lines outright.

I saw that.

Makes me nervous about my Thundercats lair. I hope they don’t go belly up. Things are not looking good. Who knew that releasing $60 figures with massive quality control problems and all at once would slow sales?

Sean C 01-10-2024 01:06 PM

How many Simpsons waves got produced? 4? And no standard versions of the family members.

I think there’s standard versions of Lisa and Marge (with Maggie) coming, but the fact that they couldn’t put a standard Bart head in with the Bartman figure, and we’re only gonna get Astronaut Homer and Muumuu Homer, really burns my canollis…

flansered 01-10-2024 01:14 PM

4 waves have been solicited, the 5th wave was supposed to be Groundskeeper Willie and standard version of Lisa and Marge. Ultimately that line failed due to them starting with variants of the main family members rather than the normal versions. Like they didn't do Slam Dunkin' Donnie in the first wave of TMNT Ultimates, they got the normal versions that everyone wants first then hit the deeper cuts in a later wave.

It also sounds like their relationship with Disney/Fox in general is pretty much over.

Dr Kain 01-10-2024 04:13 PM

Their Simpsons line was a joke. They advertised accessories that weren't even in the final product after they took everyone's money, they never bothered to do regular versions of the Simpson family, it was absolute crap.

I wonder how long they are going to bother doing Power Rangers and Godzilla in the ReAction line.

They say stuff isn't selling well, but that's because it's all over priced. The only reason I'm paying $20 for ReActions is because there is no alternative for those versions of Godzilla and Power Ranger villains on that scale to go to.

Smasher 01-10-2024 04:44 PM

How do you guys think that translucent Mumm-ra will hold up over time?
From all the creaking I've heard on the toy reviews for the regular Mumm-ra, I can't imagine the translucent version not being scary to pose.
Will it creak or snap?

You're right.
None of that is proof.
It's all anecdotal based on the proof.

I'm not trying to discount anyone's personal experience.
My mother and I were on welfare and homeless during an economic boom.

But, according to the approved metrics used for decades, the US economy is in good shape.
Prices are still high, but inflation is down to pre-pandemic levels.

"Real Unemployment" used to be considered 4%.
That is, there was a general understanding that unemployment would never be 0%; therefore 4% Unemployment was a practical expression of "Full Employment".
United States unemployment has been below 4% for two years.
Two years!

I work in IT in Texas.
People normally retire from my job, they have been leaving for more money and often 100% Work-from-Home environments.
I am involved in the hiring process for new employees for our team.
We have had people stop the interview when they hear the money, or that we are 40% Work-from-Home.
Not a single person who we have interviewed has lacked a current job.
Not one.
My sister has a small business and she is having a hard time hiring people -and competitors are trying to lure away the crew she does have.

My friend in Vineland, Colorado turned down a job manufacturing wind turbines because other businesses are hiring because of the wind turbine manufacturing.

We are getting a high speed rail in Texas.
Like, it's actually happening.

I just paid $2.47 a gallon for gasoline.

Empirically the economy is good.

My toy prices are from several manufacturers, other retailers have them priced the same.

Between the news today of cancelled lines and yesterday's preorder drop, looks like people have had enough of S7 and their bullshit prices, character selections & QC issues.

Dang, maybe I should come work for your company!

Personally I’m amazed Super7 has lasted as long as it has, what with the outrageous prices, baffling character selection and shoddy craftsmanship. Hell, a month ago I went into a Best Buy selling the Power Rangers Ultimates, and the Green Ranger looked like a knockoff from Aliexpress! The articulation wasn’t even up to modern standards!

What accessories were dropped? I know about the mess with Moe's apron and that Krusty was originally solicited with a cigarette, but that was most likely dropped due to Disney. Were there others?

My concern is they will cancel the line right after 1 or 2 series and we are left incomplete. Super7 is not instilling much confidence in me of late.

They seem only focused on thundercats, which is fine but they shouldnt neglect their other lines. Hell they should give motic back to mattel since they have done nothing with it. Its cool theyre doin dnd animated but i too am weary of them completing the l8ne.

Disney and Super7 had a disagreement. Online retailers had a holiday sale. I don’t think things are as bad as people are making it out to be. Questioning a successfully funded Cat’s Lair and the future of the company as a whole seems a bit of a reach.

It’s been a while since I read it, but if I remember correctly Mattel did not renew the MOTU license with Super7 because they wanted to go back to making MOTU product themselves, which resulted in Origins and Masterverse at retail.

deecee4 01-14-2024 09:20 AM

I vaguely remember a Brian Flynn interview (post-silverhawks announcement) from a few years back mentioning they had a property they were working on that was going to "melt minds" (his words) and it was something that no one has thought about for 30-something years.
So I would guess maybe S7 figures were supposed to come out first and maybe they had to put it on hold cause Hasbro decided they were releasing their own.
