Moot point. All of them have actual ball joints in the hips like the 6 inch ML figures so there should be no posability problems at that joint.

AV- I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it's most likely just this particular sample that is a bit heavy.

Looks like I'll be adding some paint apps to Maverick on the forearm gauntlets and gear to make it ape that Jim Lee card a lot closer. Regardless, it's full of WIN.

Anybody but Snake-Eyes! ;)

Seriously, these figures look cool.

Woo! Consider em sold.

Maverick <3

Nemesis*Prime 12-13-2008 04:08 PM

Wow. 2 of my Marvel Universe wishlist choices actually came true (even if technically they are apart of another line).

Flint 12-13-2008 04:11 PM

YOu know it's neat to get a new Maverick, he's long over due for a new figure.

Pizza Man Z 12-13-2008 04:11 PM

These are awesome, I can not wait for these to come up for preorder.

Snake-Eyes, Stormshadow and the whole rainbow of other Ninja's too.

lars573 12-13-2008 04:31 PM

The only one I'm interested in is the Logan street cloths one. I hate Deadpool so much it hurts, not buying that. Gambit is lame too. Maybe brown Wolverine.

I dunno about that. I find that bringing the pelvis down so far over the hip makes it impossible for the fig to actually sit down, pretty much eliminating the entire point of having a hip joint at all. Obviously, I solve this with my trusty x-acto; but it'd sure be nice for toy sculptors to realize that trying to split the difference between 'playable action figure' and 'pretty statue' means you fail at both. Bringing the lip of a socket down farther over a joint doesn't magically make that joint invisible, it just means you can't play with the toy as well.

Honestly, I prefer molded so long as it's done right. Generally the cloth capes kind of look bad to me. Gambit looks good, but the Sabertooth one looks really restricting. Actually, Sabertooth in general looks terrible. I will probably get the brown Wolvie, as well as Deadpool.

AutobotAssassin 12-13-2008 05:05 PM

They look ok.... Now show me the real money makers, BRING ON THE 6" LINE!!!

These are the real money makers.

Don't expect much in the way of 6" figures outside of multipacks next year.

Blasphamy! But everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

The other thing that's good about this line is that it is basically a bonus addition to the main line, specifically because they are comic versions rather then the Movie versions.

AdrienVeidt 12-13-2008 05:37 PM

So, are we not getting movie figs at all? Hasbro's just using the existence of the movie to put out a Wolvie comics line and skipping the movie's designs entirely?

It's just a shame it's not in the 6 inch line. Maybe they'll get to him one day. I'll still pick this one up gladly though.

rattrap007 12-13-2008 08:27 PM

one problem I have with Deadpool is the sci is massive compared to the figure... WAAAAAY to big..

Optimus Scourge 12-13-2008 08:39 PM

Nice!

In response to your posts Beast:

I have this version of him. Maybe its the color scheme that he looks a little less dorky.
X-Men > Maverick Action Figure Action Figures at Toyrocket.com

I like him better in this version as Agent Zero where he is more in Snake Eyes or Shockwave type uniform.

I suppose you haven't seen Marvel Selects take on this film property then. FAR Superior to these childerns toys. I'm a collector plain and simple, and a selective collector at that, not a child or impluse buyer. You can't just slap Marvel and their respective characters on a plasctic turd and expect me to buy it because of the name. Marvel Studios know who their bread and butter is. I will pay $20 or better for true artwork deserving of Wolverine before I stoop and buy this crap (no offense to anyone who really wants these toys). Point in case, I waited on Spiderman, FF, and Hulk to be released in Marvel Legends before paying for that God awful 5 ich scale. I just thank God Ironman was already in "my" scale. So for you to tell me not to except much, I say, Except only the best! Accept no substitutions! NUFF SAID!

Shin Densetsu 12-14-2008 09:14 AM

I've always wanted a joe scale Wolverine comic line and after all these years, it is happening! I am excited. All of these figures look great, for all the people tired of Wolverine, at least these releases won't interfere at all with Marvel Universe or take up spaces that other characters could have used. I am buying all of these, and finally, we get a new Deadpool figure! Out of all of these, I look forward to Weapon X the most. The vintage figure was one of my favorites and it doesn't look like this one will disappoint!

These all look great except for the OPEN HANDS on all of the Wolverine toys!
Come to think of it, considering that this is a comic line, I think it would be great if all of these figures came with swappable hands. Characters like Spiderman would definitely benefit from it.

I don't like how Saberetooth's cape is sculpted to block articulation on his left arm, especially considering that I think that figure is based on his appearance in the Wolverine book where he wished Wolverine a happy birthday and proceeded to beat the crap out of him with planks of wood. He can't raise his left arm with that cape on, he looks better with it on than off, but that compromise is there and I wish it wasn't. Speaking of Sabretooth I want to see the v1 and v2 comic versions. Those costumes are awesome but never got the figures they deserved.

AutobotAssassin 12-14-2008 09:40 AM

I think the v.2 sabertooth from toybiz was deadon. But then again, I think I'm the only one who loves Marvel Legends anymore. what a shame too.

I love how you automatically start tossing around insults. Insinuating that anyone who likes the scale or the figures is a "Child" or "Impulse Buyer". That's just charming beyond words. I also like how you later say "No offense to anyone who really wants these toys", knowing how you already offended people by insinuating that they only want these so-called "plastic turd" figures cause they're children or because they're available.

The Marvel Select figures are craptastic for how much you pay for them. I much prefer what I've been getting from Hasbro. They've produced some great figures. And now Select is lamely just cranking out stuff Hasbro has already done, like the upcoming Marvel Girls. Not to mention you're only getting figure every few months. And that's not coming from a child or an impulse buyer. But someone who's making an informed choice to buy what they like.

Flint 12-14-2008 12:38 PM

Ok guys, let's not start fighting and let's keep things civil in here. People can choose to buy what they like, but let's not insult people. Let;s keep this on topic.

jdre_124 12-14-2008 01:23 PM

Do want Deadpool and the first Wolvy but I want to see the movie based figures.

NUFF SAID! U know what they say about opinions right? Last I remember I still lived America. BTW I was keeping it on topic till this new guy attacked me. Sorry for voicing my opinion about this Super Fantastic All Mighty line. I thought that was what this thread was for.???
