One day at walmart this grandma went up to me and said I should print out lists from the internet. I knew damn well she didn't know wtf she was looking for and was only looking to scalp. I replied "uh oh yea, really? Yea..that's cool".

In reality I was in disbelief. No way granny would want Marvel Legends to play with them.like I do.no.freaking.way.

Well that and she only knew the names on the list, not what said characters even looked like.

It's very likely she may have been buying them for kids or grandkids.

Of course those kids or grandkids could be 35 years old...

And remember, comic shop customers are usually men between the ages of 20-50. The older they are, the more extravagant the spending.

Colder Soldier 05-05-2011 04:36 AM

And around here, nothing but older guys buy Hot Wheels. There's one guy dubbed "Grumpy Old Hot Wheels Guy", that's at every store (WM, TRJ, TRU) every morning, truck or not. He likes to act like I have the problem.

And to re-track the thread:

I hope I find Cyclops and Apoc soon. Cable too, but he can wait. Screw it, I'm about to shower and go hunt right now.

Cable and Cyclops: 1 each per case. Apoc: 2 per case.

nexxone05 05-05-2011 10:42 AM

Good luck!

quinten182 05-05-2011 01:11 PM

That's CRAZY about the older hot wheels guys! They must exist everywhere! Every other few mornings I stop in to the walmart on the way to work to check for anything new and EVERY day the same guy is walking out from the hot wheels aisle. And even this morning I had a chance to stop by toys r us at opening time and he was waiting outside in line and darted straight to the hot wheels! Is there some serious cash in these that the rest of the world is unaware of? :x

Browniekun 05-05-2011 01:26 PM

I got lucky last night and spotted Apocalypse, Cyclops, Wolverine, Spider-women, and Gladiator in the philly area. I picked them up of course :) Also I saw the deadpool and taskmaster 2 pack.

Too bad you didn't pick up the 2-pack, I would of traded a Gigantic Battles pack for it.

nexxone05 05-05-2011 10:38 PM

Theres an extra Gladiator at local target if anyone wants me to get it for them as a trade.

What're you lookin to trade for?

vwong19 05-06-2011 04:26 AM

I haven't seen any new waves in any stores in San Diego.

I started collecting late with the MU line and have found bbts to be a god send in catching up and not having to deal with driving around everywhere hoping to find pieces to add to my collection. The downside is that I have a lot of doubles that I have hanging around to open or resell on ebay someday.

I don't collect Hot Wheels, but those old guys may be after "Treasure Hunt" vehicles. I've never seen one in the wild, although I only go there to pick up a few for my 2 year old.

Unfortunately I do have to visit Walmart to see if I can find the new Gigantic Battles packs. It seems like most Walmarts in this area don't carry MU.

quinten182 05-06-2011 08:44 AM

If ANYONE sees either of the 2 new comic packs PLEASE post the store found (only if it is retail, comic/collector shops need not apply :P) and also discuss trade with me :D

XForce609 05-06-2011 01:04 PM

i hate scalpers....

Sorry the trade is already pending. There is also 2 First appearance wolverines if anyone is intrested. Check my trade threads the figures im in need of are all there.

outsider 05-06-2011 08:04 PM

Why is it so impossible to find these!

Atomic Platypus 05-06-2011 08:16 PM

I found this wave last Wednesday in NYC. If you guys are in that area check out Midtown Comics. They stock new figs eevry Wednesday, and on their website they list exactly what they will stock. I saw they were getting the newest wave late tuesday night. and called them bright and early the next morning the morning to see if they can hold a Cable and Cyclops for me. It was no problem...got out of work at 5 and headed there right after work, and picked them both up...along with Apacolypse, and a few other MU figs i skipped out on.

They just opened up a location in downtown in Dec, which is the best for figs. If any of you guys are in the manhattan area, check it out.

quinten182 05-07-2011 09:20 AM

Comic stores don't really count since they aren't chains for the entire country. Of course midtown comics should stock them, they're a top tier comic store. But I want them at retail price at target. :P

Colder Soldier 05-07-2011 06:43 PM

Wow. This new wave has only been out a week and there's some serious jonesing going on here. It may be the time for some of us to admit we have a problem.

That being said; I have a problem. Where's my Cyke and Apoc!!

cainraw 05-08-2011 04:31 AM

Went to a random Target today, saw a half dozen first appearance Wolverines, none of the goods though, bummed!

Jason Abbadon 05-08-2011 05:09 AM

My ocal target has SIX racks devoted to Captain America figures- making it an Iron man 2 sized roll out...but when asked, the floor manager told me "two more weeks"!

DAMN.

They still did not stock the comic two packs either- two more empty racks!
WTF?!? That store was so on the ball with the revision sets too!

A question on the cap line- is there a 6, 9 or 12" Cap figure? If so i NEED that fora Super Adaptoid custom!

There was a 6" Cap at TRU the other day, but the quality of the figure wasn't that great.

boombatty 05-08-2011 11:02 AM

Just hit my local Target and they had Apocalypse, a few of the first appearance Wolverine figs (bleh), and Gladiator. I can't wait until Captain America hits because I plan on buying out every store I can find of the Crossbones figures. not to scalp or even trade mind you, but to customize. I have plans for a Punisher version using the SHS body already and a few other ideas.

Dude I saw a heaving sweaty creepy SOB with an afro at Target & he saw i wanted some figures & he was about to rush to where they were but i snagged em all & i basically said "Screw you let someone who won't be douchey have it" & he was pissed & i hid them behind some baby dolls that NOBODY buys & they restock on them even so I was safe to buy em another time. But another day a dude who works in the store saw me & he could tell somehow i was gonna stash them somewhere. He disappeared when i walked to the hiding place but there was a black guy with a hat & headphones that had a wired smartphone headset & i saw him follow me to see if I'd hide them but i dropped em back where i found them cause i knew the SOB was working for the store. He trying to catch shoplifters or people who hide stuff & he got pissed when i didn't do anything

Never before would an avatar quote be more appropriate.

quinten182 05-11-2011 01:01 PM

Hiding the toys is kind of being "that guy" though. :(

If I went in and wanted 1 or 2 and the store had got them, but you had hid every one of them, I'd be pretty sad..
