Ohhh ok, I have them both so it doesn't matter. Thanks =D

I purchased a case of that wave from Hasbrotoyshop, and the one Winter Soldier that was shipped in the case was the VARIANT. At the time, I had no idea it existed and opened it. I was disappointed I had done so later as the only MU figures I don't open are the variants. I like the wall of variants in package that I have I guess. :P
However, I've also never went back and got the other one, but mainly because he's just not as cool with short hair imo.

Oh dude u got gypped by a person who repacked it to make sure they could get their money back I've seen someone repack Indiana Jones into a XMOW box & they didn't notice anything wrong, I one time was gonna do that but to return a figure when i had bought another one that had better paint apps.

Marv0850 05-18-2011 06:31 PM

im going to go ahead and join the repack crowd, but whomever did this is a total tool. I mean you score a jim lee cyclops and you have to get your 8 dollars back? You sad sad little piece of shit.

Not the op just the one responsible for the repack.

smcinern 05-19-2011 09:06 AM

meh, as it all boils down to the end, if it's a repack, which I now BELIEVE it to be, it doesn't make me too upset. Since after reading through this thread when I got home with the Jim Lee Cyclops last night, I compared the boxes and there is one difference on the bottom of the packaging. There is an additional line of tape that isn't on the Jim Lee version. Other than that, I cannot find ANY tears or other evidence the box was tampered with.

Kinda makes me laugh someone would do that AND be that good at it. I also don't want to return it because I don't want some poor kid (not a 39 year old comic/SW/Toy guy like me) buying the wrong figure thinking he got the right one (or some Mom doing it). Don't need to have the Toy Gods mad at me.

Funny thing, tried to explain it to my wife last night and she said, "where's the yellow and blue guy we talked about?" on Tuesday night A) she was talking about first appearance Wolverine B) I showed her the repacked Cyc on Tuesday. Gotta love her for trying.

Thanks to everyone for pointing it out. Guess next stop is to remove the wiki post I made.

Man that really blows. I do commend you for not taking it back. Your absolutely right about a youngster buying it. I remember awhile back I was looking at posts on here and I saw a repack of the Giant Man/Thor Greatest Battle with a Star Wars guy and Green Lantern. Some people will do anything to get their $$$ back.

Dude...it had a Star Wars cantina guy and Guy Garder from DC's Green Lantern! Of course it was a repack! LMAO! :D

(And probably the funniest damned thing I've seen in about 5 years!)

Tiberius 05-19-2011 12:13 PM

I have honestly never seen a repack around these parts. I did however repack myself, but its not as bad as you all may think. When the IM2 figures came out, I bought myself a Crimson Dynamo. I was so stoked, I got home and opened him up, and noticed "WWWWWTTTTFFFFFF, one of his legs i a lot longer than the other!". I sucked it up for a few months and bought another one, repackaged the old one and brought it back. Yea yea I should of returned it as soon as I got it to get a new one, but meh.

but shoot man its not like you replaced it with Randy Orton.

quinten182 05-19-2011 01:47 PM

Speaking of Randy Orton, just went and met him last night at the Wal-Mart right next to my house. :P

Off-topic I know, but couldn't resist, ha

Yes, please do.

Was looking at the Marvel Universe Wiki page and scratching my head about an alternate Cyclops (Jim Lee version with a cap head?). Fortunately, the power of Google led me here to clarify things and now I can happily buy this fig without the spectre of a phantom variant out there. Oh well, at least this confusion led me to discover this web site.

:D
