Neat!, nicely done, I've seen these at walmart before also, something like $10-20 for a set of 3. I invisioned these on the walls not stacked but good use or lumber.

Boba Fettuccini 08-14-2011 11:37 PM

my Target had a pile of em on clearane for like $5 a set, I went bak to get some and they were gone.

Here's an eBay auction for a Spawn Alley playset. Even the Buy It Now price is totally worth it and shipping is only $9.00. This playset is absolutely perfect for Marvel Universe figures.

By the way, this is NOT my auction. :)

Some of you have really epic city dioramas for displaying your stuff. I have to make do with the city stuff from my mom's Fisher Price collection. :P

I used to have them displayed on an old wooden Pepsi crate mounted on the wall. Neat stuff.

Is that IM Mark V no helmet a custom?

You could say that. I just popped on Biggs Darklighter's head. I haven't painted on a beard yet.

This thread does inspire me to seek out some display pieces for my figures. I do like the fisher price pic of hellboy and war machine. Can't wait to see your figures in some of the other play sets.

Spawn is a comic series from Image comics about a guy who goes to hell and asks to go back to Earth to see his wife again. In turn, he has to become a Hellspawn, a sort of demonic mercanry thing. He becomes a superhero and does badass stuff, and it really kickstarted Mcfarlane Toys.

thechris 08-29-2011 11:39 PM

Crap, I missed out on this one. LOL.

Want info go to SPAWN.COM Co founder Todd McFarlane, was originally a comic book artist doing cover work for Marvel and DC, he went on to create his own character Spawn which spawned "no pun intended" hundreds of comics, tv shows, cartoon movies, a realife adaptaion movie, and tons of action figures ranging from 3''-20''. late 90's early 2000's was the height of his popularity, but Mcfarlane toys has become a pinnacle of perfection inwhich other companies are pushing themselves to achieve interms of scale, paint and sulpt detail, they raised the bar for companies like Hot Toys and Sideshow to exist. He is famous for his sports figures, movie, music, animation etc he is also well known for owning the homerun baseballs that Sammy Sosa and Mark McQuire hit. neways no more info I can give you that you can't find for yourself on his site or on wikapedia. The cool part to me is he's Canadian!

Challenge accepted.

MU Bleeding Edge Iron Man and IM2 Titanium Man, with the Fischer Price Sesame Street playset.

'This rooftop battle isn't going to be quite as dramatic as the studio was hoping."

If the Sesame Street set were just a little larger, it would actually be PERFECT for this sort of stuff.

I just bought one on the bay for $16!!! Keep looking man, they're always on there. Sometimes you'll get lucky. But if I see another auction for cheap I'll post it in here.

ludovicotek 08-30-2011 10:56 AM

@Boba Fettuccini - Those pictures and captions are GREAT!!! lol

thechris 08-30-2011 11:05 AM

The Ghostbuster firehouse is usually cheap if you're not bothered about the condition or the accessories.

Boba Fettuccini 08-30-2011 11:53 AM

If I can make more space, which should be soon, I might wanna have a go at one. If it's in cruddy condition, I'll pay my sister to help paint it up and make it look more real. She's an incredible artist.

That's actually clever. You see a lot of people do custom work on figures but not so much on playsets. I bet for example, the old TMNT sewer playset would look amazing with detailed paint applications and added stone textures.

Boba Fettuccini 08-30-2011 01:33 PM

Yeah, it's really just a matter of paint washes and dry brushing. Anything could be made to look cool

bmorr 08-30-2011 01:54 PM

with some paint. the orange house can be used for Doctor Stranges sanctom sanctorum(his house).

I've been seriously thinking about buying this Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion to use as the sanctom sanctorum. It's barely big enough. I figure with a nice paint job it'll do the trick.
