I have yet to see a Clearance sale on DCUC. None of the 6 Walmarts around me have done that yet. Kmart has moved out of Houston. I think there is 1 further downtown but I wont go that way. Kmart has given me a bad taste especially their online site. They mail whatever is laying next to them for you order.

Fortune 10-26-2011 10:24 AM

Everything I hear about ordering from Kmart is a horror story. I just cant bring myself to do it

felks22us 10-26-2011 11:07 AM

I dont really like Kmart , the ones by me seem so run down and the toy location is so random as well you got to check the whole aisle to find something .

See this is whats crazy about Kmart and just kills me, how it seems the WHOLE corporation is run the same way. Every store is just as bad as the last, it's not just one out of handful like Walmart that sucks. It's every damn one of them. I don't get how they are still in business.

DogFashionDisco 10-26-2011 12:30 PM

I didn't see anything on clearance at my local Wally World, so I bought chicken strips instead. I did have a scary female redneck employee stare me down as I left the store. That was fun.

What really gets to me is how can every Kmart be filthy. Every single one every single time I go in there has spills and stained floors. Also every one of them smells freaking awful. I can't even describe the smell at first I thought it was those ... "cafes" in them that was the source of the smell but then I was in one that didnt have a cafe and it still had the smell.

I too used to hate Kmarts, but they are growing on me.

They have a free membership card program that accrues cash rebates as you spend money. The newer/remodeled locations have a big red special offer button on the customer side of the cash register area that you get to press once after each checkout that 1 out of 5 times gets you a gift certificate or coupon for free Little Caesar's or some equivalent item. They have Craftsman tools in stock (as does Ace Hardware, as of late). They are trying to do better. I had a store manager offer to pull a pristine case of DCUC for me after he saw a number of them in the system that weren't on the shelves.

Also, nobody ever goes there because of their bad reputation so the toy aisle is typically pretty stocked. :)

Their online store is a totally different story. They use the same system code for every character in each toyline so they cannot differentiate between figures without locating the figure in store. I think it's called a KCM or KVM number (or something like that). Long story short, don't count on the specific figure you order online to be the figure that shows up in store for store pick-up or in the mail if you place an order. It all depends on how knowledgeable the order picker is and how much attention they are giving to the task. There are horror stories about people ordering Transformers Human Alliance Mudflap (which was hard to find) and all of them getting Bumblebee or Skids or some other substitute, and then getting shorted shipping & return shipping charges, in some cases.

Because it falls under the DCUC banner.

The distribution of Waves 1 & 2 of Batman Legacy figures was crazy. There was an initial shipment and all of these except a few Golden Age Jokers and a ton of Super Powers Mr. Freeze figures sold out immediately.

I asked some of the customer service folks when they planned to replenish their stock and was told, "October." That was way back at the beginning of August.

So the pegs have been bare for almost 80 days and as soon as they restock, they go on sale for $10.

If there had been any on the shelves during this stretch, you'd think they just might have sold a few at MSRP.

I panicked when I didn't get a Catman after the first round and spent about $24 for one online. Now there are 3-5 at all the local stores warming the pegs.

No matter, he's still totes awesome. :)

Little Ceasars is open and still operates?

Yea, Kmart.com is notorious for botching orders, Transformers inparticular. If you have something that comes in an assortment, DO NOT ORDER from them.

Yeah, they fell off of the face of the planet about a decade ago, then started popping up in the Midwest around two years ago. The quality is shit compared to what I remember from when I was little, but who knows, maybe my nostalgic childhood memories just register the old era of Little Ceasars as "good".

Fortune 10-26-2011 10:35 PM

Hmmm little ceasers never left here in cali and when I am on the go and low on dough I stop in there.

The only time I ever get their food is if I can't afford anything else, in which case I'm choosing between nourishment or avoiding the inevitable diarrhea their crappy food will give me.

This is EXACTLY what I remember, figured that's why they all but folded.

Guess some of us just have stronger stomaches ;) but I jest. I remember I prefered the ceasers away from Kmart then the ones in them.

ToyAddict 10-27-2011 04:27 AM

I was glad to have Little Caesar's open back up in our town. Their $5 pizzas are great when you need something cheap and fast to feed the kids. Doesn't upset our tummies. . .

And they are stand-alone, not in KMart.

As far as ordering from KMart, I did once and it worked out alright. Ordered a bunch of the Batmite/Batman Legacy. And the single best shopping experience I've EVER had was through the Sears website, which kinda is KMart. Sears website had shoes on clearance I wanted for my daughter, said my local Sears had it in stock in the right size, I bought them and said I'd pick it up in store, said it'd be ready in 30 minutes, so I got there in 30 minutes, waited no more than 2 minutes and the guy brought out the right product and I signed for it on some portable computing gizmo (like UPS uses). I thought it was great. . .didn't have to go there, try to find someone, wait till they dig it up out of the stockroom.

Ceasars crashed when they started that "Hot 'n' Fresh" gimmick. Where they make ten dozen pizzas ahead of time and then let them sit in a warmer for five hours until someone buys them.

Hmm, Hot N Fresh huh? More like Luke Warm N Nasty.

Fortune 10-27-2011 11:39 AM

I swear this thread has now made me want pizza. Forgot to mention on my way home from my LCS I stopped at three walmarts and not one had DCUCs on clearance. I did find one that had DCIH on clearance though.

Crazy Jetty 10-27-2011 05:02 PM

@Black Magnus

Exactly!
