Coming from the owner of a site who is just wrapping up their own first giveaway, this is an outstanding idea and a great way to drive traffic and community on your forums. It's a great way to reward your readers as well. I hope nothing but the best for Toyark!

Happy for those excited by this, but personal opinion is "meh." I only post when I have something to say, and I have no interest in just mindlessly adding to the chorus just to increase my personal activity in order to win something.

I will say I don't understand the point system though. "Points/Level" seem to have little or nothing to do with the post count or quality of the posts. I see some people with relatively few posts under their belt, and sitting at an insane level, compaired to others who may have a higher post count, with less XP/Lvl.
I appologize if this was explained and I missed it.

This idea receives the patented (disclaimer: not patented at all) ScottMurdock *high five*...though I'll never be able to keep up with Tiberius.

This is due to points being different than post count. You could have a crap ton of responses to threads, but not start a lot. Or, you could start threads but not respond to many. Starting new threads get you 15 points. And replying gets you 7. So in theory, you can pass someone with 100 replies by creating 50 or so threads. Then, factor in points for all the other actions seen on the stats page.

Levels directly correspond to overall point tallies.

Quality or content of posts currently do not factor into any stats or prizes.

Exactly. That's what happened with the Sonicron giveaway.

It's something we will definitely monitor. See how it pans out, and make changes as time goes on. We want this to be a benefit to the active members of the site.

BTW, I have bumped up the minimum characters per post from 3 to 25. So those looking to bump post counts with one word answers, please don't.

And, if we still see generic responses being given solely to bump counts, we will issue warnings and infractions as needed. SPAM is already not allowed here.

A review of your posts prior to award announcements will be done, if they are heavily weighted with generic responses, and not contributing to the site, we may recalculate awards without you as an option (same way we exclude staff from winning).

Added this to the official overview, for now. Will adjust further if needed.

This should help, we don't need another Gaia like site where people make their own threads and bump for Gaia gold!

Toyark doesn't have a news credit system. That is exclusive to TFW2005.

I guess I worded it wrong. I know I haven't seen anything like that here, what I meant was any news brought forward, implemented or used in anyway in the acheivement/points system.
