I'm sure Wal-Marts very from place to place but here they are strict. They even have secret shoppers. Employees who walk around in regular clothes just to see who is stealing.

The bag checkers arent going to look in another bag that is not a walmart bag. You can even put a MU figure in a cargo pants pocket.
Secret shoppers are everywhere, not just Walmart.

The discussion was about the Walmart hate but yet people still continue to hunt and shop there. Do a multiquote next time (wait that would be taking away from your points) or go troll somewhere else bud.

oh its cool for you to be a smart ass but as soon as someone gives it back you start crying, your a joke!

Ok, all you did was help prove my point. If the camera catches you putting something into your personal bag or pockets don't you think they will give you some hassle when you leave whether you walked in with them or not???

How did I prove your point? If you have a receipt then you can put whatever you want in or out of your pockets. Did you miss the part where I said that they only check Walmart bags? If you bring it in a Target bag or backpack noone will check it coming in or out.
A receipt for an item proves that it is yours, end of story.

Even if you walk into a store and they do check your bags, as long as you have a receipt, what are they going to tell you? To not come in? Come on...
Thanks for the period!

quinten182 09-16-2011 10:29 AM

So much hostility. Omega is right, but just being a tad too angry in his answer. :P

You can easily pull this off. I will do it next week when I have a lunch break to prove it if you'd like. You can walk into wal-mart with anything. Tell them you're checking for more of this same item. Tell them you want to price check it in the toy aisle. Heck, just ignore them and walk back there.. they aren't going to stop you.

Do Boy 09-16-2011 10:30 AM

A receipt from a different date man. Camera catches you putting something into your bag on said date. You say it's yours and you have a receipt from a week ago? I'm sorry if I was security. I would hassle you some.

Never arguing that it couldn't be pulled off. Just seems weird why risk getting hassled for something just to take a pic. He was arguing that some one wouldn't spend time and money just to make a custom and return it for no reason and that He prolly just took it in and took the pic himself. I say there maybe some bored enough to do it. I mean come on it's just white. and a head swap. Not to much effort there i think.

omega145 09-16-2011 10:32 AM

I apologize to you guys for not believing blinding believing that someone returned this after putting the time and effort to paint it up instead of being real and figuring out that it was him placing the item onto the peg and snapping a pic as that takes 10 secs to do that.
The risk is to make news and have all of us talking on the forum about a possible variant Dr. Doom, it obviously worked.

Then the camera would also catch you putting it out of your bag and onto the peg. :P

Getting "hassled" or even "caught" would result in you explaining yourself for real and having camera footage to back you up if it becomes stupid. But I don't see it escalating that far.

If I put that much work into a custom simply to trick people, I'd definitely do this. Who knows, he may BE an employee even, then this is completely null and void. ;)

vampireheart 09-16-2011 10:35 AM

Guys, who's to say the person that took the pic doesn't work there? Maybe the person took the pic on a lunch break or during the shift just to start a rumor and get a kick out of watching people comment on his prank.

and not to side with anyone, but I have 2 wal-marts around here to compare, one on the nice side of town and they have no "security" at the door most of the time. However at the Wally in the ghetto area they have their "security" in place and definitely check bags and that one has a big dude not some old lady lol.

That is also true. But for all they know you might have just went in there with another stores toy and switched it out.

Being an employee could also take away from being hassled.

This is great..I'll bet the prankster never counted on the funniest part of his prank being a slapfight between people discussing the possibility of sneaking a 4x4 action figure into the fort knox that is walmart. Lolol

Best post of the entire thread! Haha, slapfight and fort knox of Walmart....i've never heard of security actually checking bags at Walmart and thats from the nicest Walmart i've been to in Florida to the grimiest Walmart i've been to here in NY.

ROFL hahhaha oh man i think i hurt myself laughing from that comment

CLASSIFIED 09-16-2011 11:19 AM

I believe that it would be completely impossible to pull this stunt off unless the culprit had magic powers or something and that those figures are totally legit variants.

vampireheart 09-16-2011 11:21 AM

^^ I think i found the culprit :p

Snowflakian 09-16-2011 11:39 AM

While it's unlikely that someone would return customs. Did anyone even think to consider the fact that maybe the customizer needed some quick cash as opposed to waiting on an auction? I mean it's not like these are all that hard customs to remake. Just saying. It could be either or. A return or a setup for just the pic.

The assumptions either way are flawed without proof or the person in question who did it. So bitching about it and arguing about just goes back to that old saying about the special olympics and the internet.

Anyway, I expect Doom will probably get an eventual running change like this. I do wish Doc Strange would get an all new mold more towards his marvel animated movie costume though. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
