Stands AND display. I'd pay another buck a figure to get a display like Gambit's from ML or something similar, smaller, whatever.

I can't buy into the "helping colectors" part. MU is 3rd on the list of lines I collect right now and I've never had to use the numbering on the stands to find or remember them. The only real reason for Hasbro to include the numbers is to induce the OCD in most collectors. Trying to force that "collect them all" mentality. You mention that, plus a lot more of Hasbro's lack-of-thought in the following...

Going from 14 to then 17 is weird, and having repeated numbers because there's no series or year designation makes it even weirder. If there was no starting over on the numbers or they had some sort of first letter designation in the numbers like S01(Shield), H01(hammer), R01(Steve Rogers) then it wouldn't be much of an issue, but too late now. I mean it's not like they'll ever use that 3 digit place since they just restart the numbering every new series now. Kind of wish they did use the full numbers(no restart), then it'd be easier to keep a tally of how many MU have been made single carded.

And even if they just kept numbering them continually through each series, no one would want to display the figures in the order they came out. I know I like displaying all "like-characters" by one another. MUw13 Cyclops, XMO Gambit, brown/yellow CP Wolvie, etc= X-Men Blue. HA Cap, CP Thor, IM2 Ditko Iron Man, CP Hawkeye, etc= Contemporary Avengers. IM2 War Machine, CAP: TFA USAgent, CP Spider-Woman, etc= Avengers West Coast. Then there are Spidey, Cosmics, etc.

I mean it's not like I think Snake Eyes birth name is actually snake eyes.

Though "Codename: Cobra Viper" is just stupid since it's a rank or army, not an individual's real name or codename, but "Codename: Destro" or Codename: Zartan is perfectly fine. In the second examples, it adds to the whole espionage aspects of GI Joe, in the first example, it just looks ridiculous.

I'm glad they took it off. I understand that putting "codename" on the stands make them seem more militant, but c'mon. They already have enough guns and grenades hanging off them for that. "Codename:" on every stand just looks tacky and redundant. "Codename" on a every Joe stand is about as silly as having "Alias:" on every Marvel stand.

^True. If it wasn't for the HUGE mistakes Hasbro makes across all lines, there will always be the dozens of little ones that will hinder their lines from being no more than C+.

warmachine6 08-30-2011 07:35 AM

i think every figure should tbh , espically the ones that can fly , cause some of them are lame if they dont , i.e ironman storm dr stange vision etc that can fly should really have one

Galvanitro 08-30-2011 07:37 AM

Totally agree. I love the stands that come with with the single-figures. I'm not going to rage because they aren't in multi-packs, but 'tis annoying.

Nexodusrex 08-30-2011 07:37 AM

I like the stands, and use them greatly. but my problem is using stands on older figures.
ever use an XMO figure on the newer stands? dosent work.

what I'm saying is, ever marvel 4 inch figure, from here on out, needs to have the exact same foot hole size, regardless of foot size.

MasterSock 08-30-2011 07:38 AM

Not to go off topic but along with stands we need more accessory! But yes stand are awesome i hate having my figure fall over and i hate when a figure comes with a stand but the foot doesn't fit with it! Like Wolverine his feet suck for stands.

ORIO 09-03-2011 11:51 PM

Stand, flight stand and bases. All the above, absolutely.

I've been trying to track down the Marvel Legends Sentinel bases that came with Sabretooth, Gambit, Magneto, Colossus and Iceman.

Also want to get Marvel Select or Legends Phoenix stands for my Marvel Universe Dark Phoenix. What good is a Phoenix figure with out a big ass fiery bird??

Snowflakian 09-04-2011 03:23 AM

Hasbro should seriously consider a stand side of the company. Make ones for Transformers, GI Joes, and Marvel Superheroes. Flight stands, sidewalks etc. If it wasn't for the fact the YJ figures are so lacking in articulation, I'd be all over them for the hall of justice Build-a-scene.

Optimus Vader 09-04-2011 05:14 AM

I wish they all came with figure stands and a pizza. Since I need everything to be the same in my collection, because I'm nuts, I just order generic stands online and use those for all my MU instead of mixing and matching. For some reason I can't use an Iron Man stand for The Punisher like I see a lot of people do. That's not allowed in my house.

CLASSIFIED 09-04-2011 07:26 AM

It doesn't matter to me because I usually throw the stands away.

As a matter of fact, if it would drive costs down, or quality up, I'd say do away with stands entirely.

Those that want them could buy them in bulk online from sites like Hasbrotoyshop.com.

I doubt it would bring cost down. They got rid of the secret files(R.I.P.) and cost stayed the same.

Prem1x 09-04-2011 08:42 AM

I don't need a stand for every figure. I've got too many stands I don't need already. My display case wouldn't fit all those stands anyways. The figures have to stand closer together.

D00MTR0N 09-04-2011 09:20 AM

yes and fury files.

I think Mattel said durring a Q & A that they discontinued stands in their WWE line in order to keep costs down, but maybe they meant to say profits up!:D

Hahaha. That's exactly what they meant.

If that's the case, then every action figure on the market should come with a stand.

The stands I don't use; I will throw at people I don't like.

Wait, wait, wait, don't you mean to say they got rid of the secret files and costs went up?

Went up? No. They are still the same price for me. $6.99-$8.99 depending on where you go.

CLASSIFIED 09-04-2011 01:11 PM

I'd prefer it if the stands packed in with figures were smooth and transparent.

If they were, I would probably use them more.

Not here, they're $8.99 everywhere. Haven't seen the 6.49 - 6.99 price point since early last year, back when they were all sold for it.

Well I guess it just comes down to location. Prices haven't changes in Houston to much since I started collecting.

Prices in Parts Unknown have settled around the $6.99 mark but they go up and down throughout the year depending on demand.

Cost stayed the same when other fig lines prices were rising.
Star Wars figs run at least a buck more than MU where I live.

I'd prefer they lose the name on thte stands- it's kinda pointless. Us collectors know exactly who the fig is already and it would make the bases swappable.

I ammazes me the people thay say "screw Hsbro" or they purposely made a line suck"- first, no company intentionly makes anything inferior. Second, no one's forcing you to buy anything- why the anger?
You could always buy the Young Justice line- then you'd have cause to swear and complain!

I'll say it plainly: MU is the single best superhero toy line of all time.
