Hal's almost too egostical boasting put me off a little but I guess it fits in with what they're trying to do, new costumes, new attitudes, and new universe. Jim Lee can do no wrong when it comes to penciling a book. I read a preview of Action Comics # 1 not too keen on the Superman is a jerk angle Morrison is going with. The Batman titles are what I'm looking forward to the most because Morrison is a little more removed from that character so hopefully we'll actually get some new stories rather than convoluted poorly told silver age redos.

Is that why he's fighting batman in JL #2?

It seems to me that whenever Morrison does something that's stand alone, in it's own little world (Like the Allstar titles), using really obscure characters (The island of mad scientists in 52), or just simply his own projects, then he is a fantastic writer.
But, when he is given control over core titles, and major characters then he seems to like to make major and drastic changes just for spite, and just to mess with people.
That's why I don't like him. He doesn't seem to have much respect for the big characters like Batman, Superman, and X-Men. Anytime they announce he's being put on a main continuity, core title I groan. And bad things always happen. (Although, it's extremely hard to top the rubbish of Batman's "death." If all he does to Superman is turn him into a dick, then it's sufferable.)

Oh, and I have a question, for anyone who's reading the reboot titles...
Earlier on, I read a couple articles that suggested this "soft reboot" only effected Earth, and characters that originated from the earth system, but more distant aliens like New Genesis, Apokalips, and the Green Lantern Corps would be uneffected, and one article even suggested they would continue on as everything already written is completely unchanged.
Is this what's happened? It seems unlikely to me. (Although that would be extremely interesting, for Sinestro, or Apollo to start to realize these humans are suddenly different, and recall/remember events differently.)

I picked up Justice League #1 on wednesday and enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I was going to.

I was real excited to see a Para Demon because I'm a huge Kirby fan, and Superman looked a lot cooler than I expected.

I don't think Batman is rebooting all that much.

The way I see it, the Batman books are picking up right where they left off before Flashpoint with all of their new # ones.

That was the only good part. I don't like it at all.
Superman is a jerk.
Hal is just like old Flash or Wally.
Batman is a grumpy grouchy guy.
Superheroes are just like mutants in Marvel. I'm expecting large robots hunting them next.

nope, your gonna have to wait like six or more months for old dc to catch up. the green lantern and batman stuff is halted but saved until it can be all written in come 2012.

What do you mean?

There's like six # ones scheduled to come out in September.

Batman & Robin has Damian as Robin.

Dick talks about how he's going back to being Nightwing right before Flashpoint in one of the books.

Batwing #1 spins right out of the pages of Batman Inc.

And so forth and so on...

You mean the "regular" universe isn't being dropped?
I thought the reboot was the new mainstream from here on out. That it was pretty much it (At least until management decided otherwise).

I heard the main reason they were rebooting the DCU was to make Superman more relevant.

That wanted him as the first superhero again; so the JSA is gone.

They also didn't want him tied down to Lois anymore.

It also seems like they've used the reboot as a vehicle for bringing Vertigo and Wildstorm into the regular DCU.

A lot of everything else is staying the same; Batman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, etc. are all picking up right where they left off.

This is what I've "heard", I'm not claiming to be in the know or that I posses any insider knowledge.

Time will tell how the whole thing actually plays out.
