I like the secret wars cap only because of the lighter shade of blue they used. Uber muscle cap from the comic series line doesnt fit in well with the rest of MU.

Optimus Vader 09-05-2011 06:19 AM

Is Bucky not an option? If he is I'd get the movie line Bucky and that's that... Bucky Cap and Crossbones are two gems from the Cap movie line.

If you ask me, the only "classic" Cap looking Cap that's worth a damn in the Deluxe version that came in the second wave, with the blue glider. It's still not great, but I think this one looks a little less shitty to me. Most of them, including the US Agent, look like Dollar Store ko's to me.

KingLouie731 09-05-2011 06:24 AM

Yeah for me Bucky isn't an option, though the figure looks sweet, I'm not a fan sorry if that offends any of his fans. and yeah to answer one posters question this topic is in regards to marvel universe size figures

miketime 09-05-2011 07:56 AM

I went with the K-Mart 3 pack Cap in the front row of my sig. The blue is dark but he is not skinny like every MU fig. Don't get me wrong the MU Caps have there purpose. But when you look at the MU Caps and Iron Mans next to the movie versions of them you have to go with the beefier movie styling. I know the limited shoulder and wrist articulation is a bummer but scale wise they work. It also sucks having to replace several characters when they inevitably make better versions of characters.

sug2763 09-05-2011 09:51 AM

I completely agree with you, Colder Soldier! I think they should use the new Commander Rogers to make a new, awesome Cap figure.

y'know, this could have been a possibility if they made a variant of Comm. Rogers.

Get ready for picture HELL!!!

Here is a shot of six basic Cap figs, 3 MU and 3 Movie for comparison. The Movie figures are standing just slightly in front, but we all know they're a BIT shorter. Left to right it's MU WWII Cap, Movie line K-Mart 3-pack Cap, standard Secret Wars, Movie Parachute Cap, MU Ultimate Cap and Movie line Ultimate.

A straight up comparison shot of the Ultimate Caps. And I'm sorry, there's just no way Twiggy McBaby-head on the left is better!
http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...4/100_5332.jpg

Action Jerks!
http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...4/100_5333.jpg

More of those...
http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...4/100_5342.jpg

MU camp group shot (just missing the most recent SDCC Cap and the re-pack Cap with Wolverine.)
http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...4/100_5340.jpg

Movie camp (not gonna buy all of those...)
http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...4/100_5339.jpg

And my personal favorite, freakishly, is K-Mart 3-pack Cap. He DOES feature Torso artic, has a faded denim-ish paint job and a wicked burly man-head!

Jason Abbadon 09-05-2011 03:32 PM

Yeah... just wish that K-Mart version was a lighter shade of blue to match the comics better!

Boba Fettuccini 09-05-2011 03:59 PM

The lighter color looks far less bad-ass though. If you want a lighter blue, get the Heavy Artillery. It's the same exact figure with a lighter paint app.

KingLouie731 09-05-2011 04:11 PM

In the pics it is hard to see if the head wings jut out from the head or if they are flat against, let me know if they stick out or not please and thank you

KingLouie731 09-05-2011 04:12 PM

Also thank you for the pics it is much easier to see the differences when they are right next to each other

tlasjr 09-05-2011 04:20 PM

I held off till the Heavy Artillery Cap and I'm glad did.

Dylan in Oregon 09-05-2011 05:03 PM

The head wings do indeed protrude! Go full size on the movie camp pic. Paratrooper Cap's stick out the most, with 3-pack Cap maybe being the most acceptable.

And yeah to the bad ass darker colors!

boombatty 09-05-2011 05:37 PM

Have to disagree. I prefer little head MU Cap by mile to stocky movie Cap. Same goes with all MU Cap figs. They are a million times better IMHO. I even prefer MU Winter Soldier. I only give movie props to the Red Skull, Crossbones and Bucky Cap.

Greenskar 09-05-2011 07:02 PM

I like aspects of both but it just seems outright retarded that Hasbro wouldn't just make a proper classic Steve Rogers Cap already.

MU Cap = too scrawny, I don't care how much better the articulation is. SCRAWNY!

CAP MOVIE LINE = where the hell are the elbow swivels on the classic Caps? Some don't even have wrist articulation. Why is Bucky the only Cap with decent all around articulation?

I am in agreement with everyone who has stated that we need a new Classic Cap with the Steve Rogers Super Soldier build and articulation.

quinten182 09-06-2011 06:41 AM

I still like the invaders cap. I agree with the k-mart cap looking really good build wise, but I also agree he should be a lighter blue. Maybe this heavy artillery one is the real gem then?

About time someone did a Cap comparison. I think I tried at one point but wound up getting rid of some of them.
I dont like any of the Cap movie line Captain America's. They are all too short and stocky IMO. I'll say again that I prefer the Ultimates Captain America and think he is the best representation so far but wouldnt be surprised to see a much better Cap released next year. At least thats what i hope for.

And throw in a joke about the difference between the Big Head and the Little Head and we have a whole new ballgame folks.

KingLouie731 09-07-2011 05:28 AM

Dylan From Oregon could you post the 3 pack cap & paratrooper cap against a black background so I can see the way the wings look on both please and thank you

Do Boy 09-07-2011 06:06 AM

Wow. I really like the way that captain America from the Kmart 3 pack looks.

Ick. That figure both sucks and blows. I really was looking forward to the KMart 3 pack, especially for the Red Guardian Russin figure, but it was disappointing for the most part. Stocky short figures. I'd love if they made an MU version of him along with the remaining figures (Ursa Major, etc.)

All that you just wrote and linked you could have just told what the acronym stood for. So I refuse to search google for it. So I'll just think you are saying "I click kick."

And just in case you are wondering why, It's bc I'm on my phone and don't feel like clicking on the link.
