History tells us this won't be going retail, per '10 Galactus.

Good Stuff 09-06-2011 07:10 PM

^ I wouldn't dismiss so quickly...there have been sightings of it in retail in Canada. I picked up a few regular Sentinels from Zellers (Target equivalent) and wouldn't doubt having at least 1 of the SDCC variants in the mix.

I like it more in person than I thought. Only gripe is the inclusion of the Wolvie fig, what a waste. Now what to do with all of these figs..

thechris 09-06-2011 07:17 PM

I don't think this is going to affect the value of the SDCC Sentinel too much. It's still $60 and they want $30 to ship it to Canada. That's still $90 overall, only about $30 less than what it cost in total to get the SDCC in Canada and I'm guessing quantities limited. Heck, I'm still technically seeking an SDCC Galactus on the giant card.

Blood 09-06-2011 07:44 PM

I just preordered, I knew it was a matter of time

So Am I!!! Still haven't found one at a decent price.

Not that they ever get their preordrs in, anyway....Guardians set anyone?
Anyone?

Not me, and I ordered within a couple of hours of their listing that preorder.

I bet we see this show up in stores before BBTS gets anything.

I bet we don't see it in store at all.

Jason Abbadon 09-07-2011 07:50 AM

I think we will- this is no "exclusive" or they'd be trumpeting the fact.
If nothing else, it'll turn up in Disney stores.

hmm..maybe the ebay crowd will sell me a nice loose one.

Do Boy 09-07-2011 07:56 AM

Well I hope it does come out to retail. I can use one or two more. But I'm just going off the Dark Galactus. And also the fact that people are saying their current sentinels aren't selling. So why would the store order more? The stores aren't ordering by variants. They are ordering by item. If they see sentinels sitting on shelves. They aren't ordering more.

Good points but the ugly vesion sentinel is not out where I live (that I've seen) and so if stores dont get anything untill this correctly colored version hits, they might get this instead of the lame version.

And I do think that this will sell at retail- better than Galactus!

Still...MU blew a great chance to forece all of us to buy the Sentinel- if they had made an exclusive "days of Futures Past" Commander Logan (with jacket and grey hair!).

Or maybe Rachel Summers as a Hound!

Yeah...we'd all have bought one!

Sightings of the SDCC colored version? If you're not talking about that version; the blue/silver is everywhere, not just Canada, which is why the SDCC colored version won't hit retail. Well, it might, but I think there will be very few stores who will have the need to order more Sents.. since there's already about six of them on every TRU shelf.

I feel like this is pretty easy stuff to feel out and I've only been in the MU collecting game for a little under a year. The patterns are very consistent.

DogFashionDisco 09-07-2011 09:05 AM

The Sentinel isn't selling because it is a character from a cartoon/comic series from when we were kids, so today's kids walk down the toy aisle and say, "wtf?". Plus, the thing costs nearly $60, so no kid is going to jump on board with something they don't see on tv, and that costs too much. Let's face it - this thing is marketed to adults, and none of us want one that is a crappy paint color, while others might not want it because it is too easy to find. I think it will sell a little better by Christmas, but eventually it is going to get clearanced out.

Cobra 09-07-2011 09:10 AM

Great news. I'm very glad that I did not open my SDCC Sentinel. Now I can buy 2 of these to open. I still have to decide if I want to buy the silver version.

They had sentinels in X-Men evolution. And wolverine and the X-Men. Now granted they don't look like this. But most kids aren't to picky on accuracy.

I am curious if there will be certain minor differences to make it similar, yet different from the SDCC exclusive to maintain the value for folks who went and bought it at Con.

Same here. My peace of mind was worth it. They just better not make another version any time soon.

I'm actually still hoping for a battle damage variant. Or a Rover variant. :)

Wow, that blows. You'd think they'd put a number on it's shoulder like the Blue/Silver one or something, anything on the figure itself, to make it different.

At least Galactus was darker from v.1 to v.2.

That's because there was a light and a dark version. Who know they may put a number on this one. I doubt it. But if they do that means they would need to make another one. But what I am sure is going on here is they are just repacking the left over SDCC ones

felks22us 09-07-2011 01:21 PM

wow thats cool but I got a problem with that I have 3 of the silver/purple ones lol . well i could try to get 3 more of Blue/ purple lol

Harbinger 09-07-2011 04:09 PM

Goooooooddd....gooooodddd this makes me happy. I hope more "exclusives" see mass release....maybe this will prompt cons to NOT MAKE SHAT THAT SHOULD BE AT REGULAR RETAIL EXCLUSIVES!!!! .

domshen 09-07-2011 05:24 PM

JonnyVu 09-07-2011 09:33 PM
