Well it was listed as Masterworks at the Hasbro panel

It was confirmed that he would be a Masterworks at SDCC

bmorr 09-06-2011 11:42 AM

oh forget that noise lol.

Do Boy 09-06-2011 11:43 AM

I wonder what kind of recorded sayings he will have.

perrych 09-06-2011 11:49 AM

Fin Fang Foom is a great choice because he is currently a hard to find complete BAF, and this really was a nice BAF. Giant Man would likely be out of scale - I can't remember his maximum height but it would look a little strange to have the two Goliath figures be half the height of Giant Man, who I believe was the same height.

Maybe after FFF, we might get a Masterworks vehicle? That would be about the right size and cost.

Does the character talk? I'm unfamiliar.

I want to see a Masterworks Micromax figure :)

Vehicles, one this truely lacking in the MU line.... Capitan America and Spider-Man both got Vehicles in their lines.. why can't we get something!

I wouldn't say half the size Masterwork is about 16-19" and gigantic is about 12". Masterworks vehicle's would be awesome. I would pay up to 70-80 for a very well detailed and designed S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier. Or a Masterworks Mastermold Diorama that could fit a Sentinel coming out of Mastermolds chest.

roshan 09-06-2011 11:56 AM

I think the only reason we're even getting a Foom as a Masterwork is because it is about 50/50 new tooling, and as people said before, we're already running out of masterworks size figures that would sell. This would probably be the last one. All the others mentioned before like a celestial, eternity, living tribunal, I would love to have, but I'd be in the minority and I think other than celestial it'd be hard to not have a completely new tool to make it happen.

ksteve08 09-06-2011 12:12 PM

I think a Masterworks Uatu the Watcher with a Black Bolt figure would be awesome. I missed out on the Marvel Select Watcher and always thought that figure was really cool looking

bmorr 09-06-2011 12:42 PM

in my opinion, at this scale and price, i dont think its gonna sell very well. And if it tanks, oh boy, it would mean the end of masterworks.

Oh, and speaking about masterworks vehicles, I would be PUMPED to get an avengers quinjet or a fantasticar.

Boba Fettuccini 09-06-2011 12:50 PM

maybe they should just keep these things as online dealer exclusives, and save the embarrassment of bad sales in stores.

A Masterworks Uatu would be dramatically overscaled.
Heck, he's probably even too big for the Gigantic Battles scale. I think he's probably closer to Marvel Legends, when compaired to MU. And would have made a fantastic BaF pack-in for the ML line.

Boba Fettuccini 09-06-2011 12:51 PM

[edit nvm]

Ragnar 09-06-2011 02:12 PM

A giant subterranean monster with the mole man would be awesome as a masterworks. There could be multiple monsters for variety(variants) and collect ability.

Also, here is a rough size chart.

I already have my BAF Fin Fang Foom, but he's missing a left arm and wing at the moment which I'd have to pay $99 plus for - ANYWHERE!:(

He'd look great with my MU's - IF he weren't missing an arm and wing!!:(

So I guess I'd be fine with this Masterworks, but who the heck drew him with shorts?!

Some one that doesn't want to draw a little fin fang foom!

BAD MOON 09-06-2011 02:56 PM

They could make a Masterworks Red Ronin. That would be sweet.

atomicsmurf 09-06-2011 02:59 PM

I dunno Foom could look pretty dang cool if they detail it right. Buuuuuuuuuut, I would have liked an Apoc. However, if they're going to do an Apoc, I'd rather see it in Marvel Select!

behindthemask 09-06-2011 05:31 PM

I really wanted to get my hands on a BAF FFF, a guy who lives nearby me has 1 and it's sick! love the green paint apps, size and weight is amazing, Unfortunatley the sticker price for a complete one on ebay is in the $1-200 range which is reasonable but higher then my price bracket will allow, and buying the ML figures individually/piecing it together isn't cheap either. Looking at the pics from SDCC I like the paint, but would prefer green over orange, and I really, really, really hate the boxers they're making him wear! I wonder if it's just for display to hide his dragon sized schlong? I've never seen a dragon wear pants, only blood! I hope atleast they're removable and not glued on, it just looks odd, this large very detailed dragon with undies.

quinten182 09-07-2011 07:21 AM

Mole man.. WITH giant mole!! Come on people!!

Who says?
They could easily do
Living Monolith,
Mole Man monster,
Terminus (my favorite choice!),
Red Ronin,
Surtur or (I hope!)
a Celestial!

And those are just the obvious choices!

Why retread the ML BAF stuff at all?
If I want that stuff, I can get it for $50 a pop already.

Hell, I'm not buying the fin Fang Foom- those shorts look idiotic. For the same money, I can score the green ML version.

flipwilson 09-07-2011 08:05 AM

I am stoked to get him. I had already moved over to the 3 3/4th scale figure collecting before he was released. I plan on making him a tiny thong though.

Height Scale - Marvel Comics Database

I like this height scale. It gives you an idea as to what exactly could qualify for a Masterworks, though not all things are listed.
also gives you a good idea on who would make a good giantbattles set.
Though I'm suprised at how tall Dragonman is, the molds for him, Onslaught, and Sasquatch all could be reused as some kind of larger battles 2pack.

bmorr 09-07-2011 09:00 AM

I Annihilus large enough to be considered for a greatest battles set? Cause thats some good plastic crack right there.
