with the sheer amount on ebay? it cant be much longer. Im actually surprised they havent showed up on the east coast yet. 3 weeks max IMO. (X-23 wave)

Figuring in time and gas, you save money usually.

I figure time is worth at least minimum wage. 2 hours to go hunting= $16. Gas for all that costs around $7. I generally find one figure per trip, about $9. One figure, $32. To get the whole wave, $32x6 or so... so the retail price looks more appealing, but in the end, it costs sooooo much more.

Gas is never a problem for me. I have a company card and car. I also hunt on my work hours so I get paid for hunting :) And with less and less Wal-Marts in my areas carrying MU it's making it a shorter trip each time I go out. I now have a total of 7 Wal-Marts on my route that stopped carrying MU. So I stopped going to those stores.

i just started to buy full boxes of a wave and selling the repeats on ebay. it ended up being cheaper for me in the long run and i ended up with what i wanted.

Oh, I already have the X-23 wave. I was referring to how long before the Iceman wave shows at retail.

Forgive me, but that sounds really irresponsible.

thechris 09-28-2011 02:28 AM

Yep, was gonna post but honestly not that excited anymore.

bmorr 09-28-2011 03:42 AM

Why not include the cost of your car, inshurance, taxes? lol You can't measure the cost of a single toy by averaging in the time, gas, & cost of living expences incured. If I'm going out to find a paticular action figure I do not consider my time as an expence. It's a hobby, the time I put into to it is enjoyable.

Nice point. Escpecially the "enjoyment" part. It's true.

Except for those wasted trips. Those are just annoying depending on the frequency of them.

More true when I go with a friend or two. Most of mine don't collect, but I do have a couple of buddies that are casual collectors. Not necessarily MU, but Transformers so it's more like a hang out thing, but when I got alone, you damn right it feels like a waste of gas if I don't find what I want. LOL.

Its called perks. I worked really hard to get to where I am. And I am really good friends with my boss. He knows what I do and has no problems with it. I make him more money then you or myself will prolly ever see in a life time. So don't go and tell me about what I'm doing is " irresponsible"

Thank you. My point exactly. I have an AMAZING job. I have worked at this company for over 8 years. I would never risk my job for a hobby unless I knew it was ok. In fact my boss is a lurker on this forum. He just isn't a forum guy so he hardly ever posts. His SN is rones.

Here's hoping!!!! I just recently ran into the X-23 wave here. I say what... about a two - three weeks after they have been sited in the states. So I'll prolly see these sometime mid oct. But who knows. :)

ORIO 09-28-2011 07:29 AM

Edit: I'm dumb.

quinten182 09-28-2011 07:51 AM

Turning that corner only to see that box art of a figure you haven't seen in person yet and pulling it off that peg to frantically look for more in the series is ALWAYS

>

Showing up with a box on your doorstep in which you knew was coming and knew it's contents

(Don't get me wrong.. both are wins.. but that gas, time, etc.. makes the former so worth it.)

I agree, but only when it happens that way. :)

110% agreed :)

I only need Astonishing Wolvie from this...and it'll show at retail soon enough.

Nice to see BBTS getting something before it's readily available...though of course it's not a wave I ordered!

I still need that power Man/Iron Fist two-pack...but BBTS is not selling it seperately!- you gotta but that captain Britan pack too? Pass.
I'll look at retail.
