These look a little too "motor-cross" for me. From the images shown, there isn't much about this line - yet - that is exciting. The "ninja" figures are missing any sort of distinctiveness, besides paint apps. Maybe they will have accessories that will move them from just being clones, but I haven't seen much to make think so.

I am looking forward to them branching off from identical figures and moving towards the other characters that were far more unique.

Since when is smoke blue? isn't he grey?

$14.99 for a 4 inch Raiden figure? Uh oh. Hmmm also wasn't Scorpion advertised with pics? Looks like the 6 pack of ninjas will be excluding him and no, I don't need a history lesson on how he isn't a Lin Kuei and how that's why they didn't. :p

Agreed, VERY strange. Especially considering he's a light gray in his human ninja version.

The Ninjas and Cyborgs are. The rest like Raiden and Johnny Cage are not. At least these are simple looking, can easily be repainted to your tastes if need be.

The single releases for $15 are 6", not 4.

jamarmiller 10-27-2011 05:45 AM

god where were these about 17 years ago, I would have killed for these back then

Darkspeed 10-27-2011 06:13 AM

Those are some smart looking sets! The Cyberninja's look good, but the 6-pack set looks brilliant (Thought slightly bummed out by no Scorpion!) I will have to look out for these!

Deefuzz 10-27-2011 08:31 AM

Those look so much better than anything I have seen out there in regards to MK thus far.

D00MTR0N 10-27-2011 08:43 AM

the shoulders are way too rounded.

I know, I was just feigning ignorance. :)

Snowflakian 10-27-2011 09:02 AM

This pack is looking pretty decent. I might have to pick it up, but the second I do, I'm committing to buying all the MK ninjas in this scale. T_T

Screw it, I'm biting!

You're pretty much stuck buying most of them in this scale as a package deal anyway, I don't think they sell them individually except for Scorpion (who I saw as a single) so you're pretty much stuck committing to it. I think the only two we'll get to buy as a single are going to be Scorpion and maybe cyber Sub-Zero. Also, maybe they'll cast the Ninja mold in clear plastic and we'll get Chameleon, too. I'm guessing Kitana, Mileena, Jade won't be too far behind since they'll also be recolours of the same buck.

Mortal Kombat Secrets: Mortal Kombat Trilogy - Character's Bios

roadrevenge 10-28-2011 01:50 PM

when these hitting ebay?

or any fellow arkers will to pick me up a set with the 6 pack?

Noisemaze 11-01-2011 01:22 AM

Are these going to be available anywhere else besides Toys R Us?

Tarquinius 11-01-2011 03:41 AM

I really...want to get into this line...but seriously...there are two molds!

Albeit the molds actually look good...I dunno...I can't commit to a line that all looks the same minus the paint jobs of course

thechris 11-02-2011 04:16 PM

Ok, can someone clarify something for me? On BBTS, it has a "5 pack" with:
1x Ermac
1x Reptile
1x Scorpion
1x Smoke
1x Sub-Zero

Is this Scorpion "exclusive" to BBTS and the Smoke and Rain "exclusive" to TRU and as a result, in order to get these 3 exclusive ninjas, we're going to have doubles of Reptile, Smoke, Sub-Zero and Ermac? If yes, then I cry foul. Otherwise, are these MKIII style figures and the ones on BBTS MKII style? As in cloth costumes instead of this padded stuff? If so, all is forgiven but then again, there was no MKII Ermac so I'm thinking it's more of this Play-Doh padding stuff.

BlackMagnus 11-02-2011 04:26 PM

Double post, sorry.

Looks like it (Noob and Rain) and iirc, Ermac originated in MKII as rumor. It was coded and some people thought he was a hidden character because of it. Oh and screw that other noise of getting 3 ninjas again when you can just settle for 2- MK9 4" Exclusive Figure Assortment - Set of 5 - Mortal Kombat Mortal Kombat 2011-2012

proteus 11-02-2011 04:28 PM

Seriously?? One mold=5 figures??? Not the best of ways to make your mark with a new toyline, surely they should have got some of the more individual characters out there, then release a 5pack of colour-coded identical ninjas?? Very disappointed in these.......

jestermon 11-02-2011 09:14 PM

Wish they could have some little effects or accesories to better identify them as seperate chracters.

Loved Cyrax's little bomb things and net.

But little extras qould have been neat.

I never even noticed the Biker "armor" very nice call.

Especially given that's the same method every other failed Mortal Kombat line has pushed out right off the bat. I've given up trying to keep up with which rotating group up musical chairs companies gets the license for a relaunch year after year.

If you want to make a big splash, make your first wave be something other than just raiden, liu kang and 20 variations of the ninjas or cyborgs. It's been done, over and over again. We all already have those figures on our shelves (6" at least). The Jax is the only figure of note to me in the entire line.

You're definitely right about Rain and Ermac, but I'm positive I fought Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat II. Him, Jade and Smoke were the hidden enemies. I'd be happy enough if they were the cloth versions instead of the padded versions but unlikely of that happening. Those MK9 ones do look like a pretty decent alternative, though. Thanks for the link.
