In a way, yes. I had just started getting into reading comic books just a few months before hand, i already knew about characters like Rulk, Sentry, Galactus and so on, But i didn't know about many characters that only have comic book appearances so when i started to collect MU (starting with the SW Comic packs) that opened me up to a whole new world of characters i didn't even knew exsisted, And opened the gate to the cosmic stories which i actauly prefer over the earth bound stories (what can i say, i LOVE astronomy! so its a given) without this line i wouldn't even know about Darkhawk, i had no idea he exsisted, so yes in some ways MU has enlightened me on many obscured characters (even if only obscured to the general audience)
