______________

If these were 4" figures I'd get them.
Anyone find it odd that Jazwares decided to make these ninjas from MK1?
I think this 4 pack would look better as 4" figures, sans the hands. Those hands look horrible.

They make a 6 pack of the ninjas for 4'' that includes Subzero, Reptile, Ermac, Rain, Smoke, and Noob Saibot.

The multipacks are called "Classic Kombat" also. This is why they look like the classic game that used simple palette swaps. It's also why the packs are discounted over the price of the single cards times whatever. It helps those who would want those, and makes it easier for those of us who'd prefer to skip it for the more individualistic modern ones.

I gotta say, pretty smart marketing. Get them out of the way along with the cyber ninjas, yet also provide single carded of modern designs for those who prefer them. This way no wave gets bogged down by a ton of repaints.

It's really kinda sad, I like the look of the suits but, if everyones opinion in hand is that these are shit, gonna have to be a pass. Maybe my next trip to my shitty TRU I will check them out (if they have them).

Shin Densetsu 12-01-2011 10:52 PM

Saw this in person today, it is indeed $49.99. This had LOTS of potential. looked like the joints MIGHT NOT be hindered like the MK9 releases earlier this year were. However, the paint apps were bad, ESPECIALLY on the faces. They look scared. Paint apps are minimal at best and look cheap.

While it was cool that we got modernized takes on the Klassic Kostumes as seen in the beginning of MK9, ultimately these figures look disappointing.

I know about the 6-pack. I'm currently hunting them down.
I meant it's interesting that for this 4-pack the costumes are from MK2 (which I incorrectly said was from MK1) while the 6-pack is from MK3.

ok, I saw them yesterday. And they're just really, really poorly designed and painted. It seems like Mortal Kombat Power Rangers or something. Not a whole lot of detail, and faces are really badly sculpted and painted. I don't know....I was just zero impressed with them.

Optimus Vader 12-12-2011 08:24 AM

I saw the individually packaged 4" figs last night.. Klassic and Modern. The Klassics are pretty bad and are $15 each (if they didn't look like shit I would've asked if that was a mistake, but I wasn't paying $5 for that crap), but the modern costume versions looked fairly decent and were $10 each... AND comes with an accessory or two.

Who's in the single Klassic releases?

They had one of Sub, Scorp, and Noob. Noob is the nicest... because they didn't have to paint it. BAZINGA!

The modern versions were just Sub and Scorp,.. lots of them.

Symbiote 12-12-2011 09:08 AM

I've seen the klassic 6" set at tru. I wasn't too impressed with them. Paint apps were lacking and the laces looked pretty bad.

Wow. Someone actually used that in context. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or terrified.

Really? Any chance I could get you to pick me up a Modern Scorp and Sub-zero and I'll pay cost + shipping to you Vader? :)

No problem, but maybe we can wait a week.. I'm sure these are just about to pour into TRU's. I have no problem helping you out, but since Thanksgiving I haven't gone into a TRU and not seen a line of about 10 people at every cashier.

As cool as MK is, I'd also seriously recommend seeing them for yourself before buying these. When I said they were ok, I meant in the grand scheme of all of these lousy MK figures that are popping up.

P.S. Anyone wanting the 4" Klassics (you're a dope if you buy them--jk, but not really--they're awful and over priced), BBTS has them as a set of three for $30, which is LESS than TRU's price of $15 each.

That'd be awesome Vader. :D Just shoot me a PM when you pick them up and I'll be happy to Paypal you (why does that sound dirty?...)

And yes, I'm sure I want them, since I was on the fence a few weeks ago when they were in stock on Toys r Us.com but then after I watched some reviews and looked at some close up pictures I decided I really wanted 'em. (plus I'd seen pics where another Arker had put MU Ghost Rider's head on Scorp's body and it looked fucking AMAZING.) but when I went back to the TRU site...they were sold out, and have been for several weeks now. :[

Also, I just bought some 3 3/4" DOA figures from a guy on EvilBay (and I'm contemplating getting the Jazwares Street Fighter figs) so that I could do a fighting game "Battle Royale" dio and take some pictures. :)

Thxs, just found all 3 of them @ TRU last night.
I noticed TRU has Baraka and Johnny Cage listed as 4" figs on their website, but only Baraka had a pic.
And of course none of those 2 at the 2 stores I checked.

WHAT?! 3 3/4" DOA figs? Can you please point me in the right direction on eBay?

Lody666 12-18-2011 08:08 AM

Saw these yesterday

Biggest pieces of garbage.

Why even bothering putting out a product THIS bad?

They look like complete knockoffs you would get from the dollar store.

I would rather drop the cash on tyhe cyborg three pack than this junk.
