Nope- Robbie and the other recruits were de-powered when the Ritch needed all their Novaforce to fight during Thanos Imperative- ans Ritch transferred the Worldmind to Quasar, but when it went offline, it never rebooted.

This could be a Nova that was waaaay out in the galaxy (like that drill seargent cyborg guy was) or he could be somwhoe connected to Supernoa or the Shiar Nova Prime captured in War of Kings...but he's drawn like a child (big head, small/short limbs, useing language like "Epic Fail").

Either the art was shit, and he's supposed to be an adult or it's someone alltogether new or from some alternate reality or time or whathehellever.

thats what i get for not reading past his own series. sucks about worldmind though. such as awesome duality btw novsa and WM.

Jason Abbadon 12-07-2011 07:15 PM

Yeah- it's like D&A put those characters in a box for safekeeping untill a more receptive editorial staff gets in power at Marvel...

Hell, I'd bet this new Nova never gets introduced to Quasar or anyone from Ritch's book.

so many loose ends there...and an entire massive Xandarian starship unaccounted for!

I agree with what Jason stated, however, I never liked Robbie anyway. When he first got his Nova Powers he was such a pretentious little prick who couldn't see that Richie was worried he may have to see his brother die a horrible death one day and not just being merely selfish or jealous.

I'm guessing it may be a future Nova. Perhaps Richie had a son...!

xhavoc86 12-08-2011 06:40 PM

I cannot wait for this! :)

What We Know About Avengers vs. X-Men - Comics Feature at IGN

I personally haven't read the Point One issue with the unknown Nova Centurion on the cover (there is no confirmation yet as to whether this is a Richard Rider from another timeline/dimension or just some random Centurion at the moment to the best of my knowledge) but now I want to.

I think the teaser poster is purposely misleading. Same for the title. Remember all the characters who started off pro or anti reg in Civil War only to switch after something tragic? Expect more of the same here. You currently have Beast, Wolverine and Storm in Avenger roles, however, I wouldn't doubt it if even a few non-mutant Avengers showed some Mutant sympathy and took an X-Men side for whatever reason. Expect it.

Of all the things that could happen, I really just want Nova back. Richard Rider specifically. I just got through the entire Nova series 1-36 and all the annihilation/Thanos Imperative/War of Kings stuff and I'm definitely a fan of Richie now! People definitely weren't hyping the Marvel's Cosmic stories for nothing. I am definitely a true believer now.

Wonder what new figures this series will spawn for MU?

Storm for now at least based on that cover is on the X-Men side, with beast and wolverine looking like they are on the avengers side.

If you follow the lightning bolt on storm, she's electrocuting ironman's armor. Beast I'm unsure about since it doesn't show him attacking anyone unlike most of the others.

LXL_Guy 12-09-2011 01:23 AM

Since the X teams are split due to the events from Schism, doesn't that somewhat factor into this next story arc?

Tiberius 12-09-2011 01:30 AM

I am just curious as to what my fellow Arkers think. So my question is this:

Who do you feel is the greater strategist?

A. Captain America
B. Cyclops

Captain America as he was in WWII and Cyclops just goes with the flow.

Tiberius 12-09-2011 01:52 AM

I would say Cyclops. He is more with the times and has been trained his whole life to be a leader of a whole people. So far, we have seen the world according to Nick Fury, Tony Stark, Norman Osborn, and Steve Rogers. I feel a HUGE impact to the world would be if Cyclops became "top cop".

Yeah, I made those same observations. But you know just as well as I do that since this is a comic book "teaser"...it won't be what it seems. It's just as misleading as any other comic book cover where it shows some character apparently dead or near death at the hands of another, and yet nothing of the sort ever happened in the actual story.

We'll see I guess.

It most certainly will. In what way? Not specifically sure yet, beyond what myself and others have already speculated on this thread.

IMO. Cyclops. The sheer fact that this guy actually earned Magneto's trust and respect enough to follow his orders into battle speaks volumes. Understanding the need for a Black Ops team when you're on the verge of extinction pushed him over Cap who I just can't see going Black Ops with anything in this day and age.

Those little stints Steve Rogers pulled in Secret Avengers, pulling a helicopter down and what not, don't even come close to the slaughtering of X-Force at the command of Cyclops. Guy is willing to get his hands dirty and that is a huge factor in battle strategy to gain an upper hand.

You clearly haven't read enough X-Men. Hell by this logic Nova trumps both Cap and Cyke on account of he was in the Annihilus War.

I agree on all accounts. Cyclops has turned into one of my favorite characters as of late. Slowly reading Fear Itself and just how he handles situations against seemingly impossible odds is awsome.

I have 40 years of X-men on a disk from a few years ago so I think I have.

That's great. So present your arguments then.

Which he surely would, with one hand behind his back and one eye closed.
Both at the same time.

Tiberius 12-13-2011 11:02 PM

Haven't seen any yet. Probably will be though.

Oh man, it has a digital copy with it...meaning it's polybagged and the whole series may be as well...
