St. Louis - land of the swapper. That kind of explains why I can't find jack shit anymore.

Thats just f*ckin sad man, seriously reassess your finances if you cant afford it and then you might have some cash for the stuff you want without screwing people over!

At first I thought I found some crazy variant because the daredevil had red gloves.. then I was like.. ohhhhh.. stupid.

cabrican 02-06-2012 03:12 PM

Didn't the same thing happen to the Thanos wave which hit right after Christmas too I think... it turned into the lost wave for a little while and Thanos was HTF until he started showing up again in revision cases.

I only saw Psylocke at my LCS too... had to suck it up and get her at markup.

Target doesn't hold product for post sale. They have a computer automated fill system that restocks based on sales. When someone buys a figure the system calls for a refill as long as its backstocked correctly.
I've seen the psylocke wave once and she was the only one that had been bought so I grabbed the rest cause I knew I wont see anything til March.

Jason Abbadon 02-06-2012 09:43 PM

Then why has my Target had FOUR empty MU pegs for a month?
Really, it's gone from puzzeling to exaperating to maddening to homicidal.

Tiberius 02-06-2012 09:44 PM

Bwahahahahahahahaha that actually isn't to bad. Clean repack.

You know since hunting for Trans this past weekend, they may be in the back of Targets, because I've been having them pull from the back to get what I need. They could just be sitting there gathering dust...

Reordering new product is not the same as physically putting the stock on the shelves. Just because new product is sitting in the back room doesn't mean that the staff have to immediately put it out. The lack of product on the shelves is probably due to one of two things: 1) they do hold back product for some reason (most likely due to aisle re-sets), or 2) they have lazy stock workers.

I'm going to go with #2, those people don't care if you want a Psylocke figure, they just want to put in their 6-8 hours so they can go home and pretend that life doesn't suck.

Optimus Vader 02-07-2012 09:18 AM

I'm going to weasel my way into one of these stock rooms one day and see what's up. It sounds like I should open a door and walk into a magical world of munchkins singing and making all of the latest and greatest collectibles while it's raining Gummi Bears.

That looks like a clean repack. lol

I don't get it either. The ebay best offer people and the lack of product for the last 3 months. I get the Chinese New Year delaying shipments, but the shelves are empty for GI Joe and MU. I fear that I will never see the new Legends. Did not see the larger Thor legends figs anywhere. Stores around me only have Artic Destros and X-23's. Some don't even have space for Joes.

We all heard about Target's MU end cap display months ago, I have yet to see one. Now some stores already have the Avengers toys out before the TV add hit.

The way I see it is that these retailers are loosing by not having or putting out product we clearly want to buy. That's what I don't get.

I worked at target too. Yes they have a computer but someone is able to set the criteria it uses to determine when to put out stock or ship it from the local disribution point. Its a fact these figures have shown up at target. Its also a fact that they are running post holiday xmas sales to clear inventory. The sale ends just around the time for another toy spurt, febraury vacation. There's nothing evil about it, no grand conspiracy, its just bis. They will restock soon enough. Im never going to see my Wonderman though

bball831 02-07-2012 10:16 AM

I would quote you all who responded to my post but that would be a lot of work so I will just respond. #1 they dont hold product when the system asks unless its trapped (meaning not backstocked, and they don't do that with marvel figs unless there is a special display. in my 6 years there this happened once) #2 yes they may be lazy. Target only gets refills on marvel figures when the instocks team shoots outs on the marvel pegs. This means that they have to physically scan the marvel figures and request more from the DC. #3 The DC has to have the figures to send them.
I worked instocks and backroom among many other positions at my Target for 6 years and I used to make a point of scanning outs on marvel figures. Because of this, my Target usually always had figures on the pegs and we had a lot of collectors come through because we had a steady stream of stock.
If you guys want your Target to get Marvel figs in ask them if they have shot research and outs on those figures lately. An instocks team lead would know. They are there until about 11:30 am. Since leaving my store they no longer have as much stock. But if you guys want to try then ask about research and outs. Get the DPCI and have them check to see if there is a case coming from the DC. I could explain this but it would be real complicated. With the proper knowledge you can find out when the figures are coming and how many stores in the district are getting them.

That may be the case. I swear I thought one of the Target workers told me that if the shelf/peg is bare and they have stock in the back, they are supposed to bring it up front as soon as it's pointed out to them (unless there is a hard street date involved).

Like that Tootsie Roll Pop mystery, we may never know the answer.

Jason Abbadon 02-07-2012 05:32 PM

Well, I guess Wave 17 finally is hitting South Florida- I say- and passed- an Ages of Thunder Thor today.

That fig really does nothing for me.

Gotta check the other Target on Thursday- the one with the four empty pegs.

Wow, how thoughtful of this guy to even leave the DD accessory...nice repack pic, I always have a good laugh at them...but you are right, they are really sad...

I dont collect SW...but back home in IN, there was a collector in the area who was NOTORIUS for repacking old SW char into the vintage collections packs...I always wanted to catch him, and blast him for it...

domshen 02-08-2012 03:58 AM

redx24 02-09-2012 12:08 PM
