I think the clear Vision, X Suit Warpath and fixed face Wolverine will be released eventually. Makes sense to include variants. Lets hope they are easier to find, like the blue Iron Man, et al.

Flame on Torch was actually fairly hard to find.

I completely agree. The stupid thing about this Wolverine though, is that even though we're calling this a variant, it's more like doing what should have been done in the first place. That retarded looking head is, IMO, completely inconsistent with this entire line. Even the Recent Jean Grey doesn't look that ridiculous.

The first Punisher had a big head, and then there was a variant that rectified that issue along with a new paint sheme. Hulk has also had different head and hand/fist sculpts added, but even the first didn't look as bad as the Wolvie head in question. I really want to know what this retarded head is all about. Someone obviously screwed up somewhere.

I haven't seen the new one at all. I've seen the "retarded head" Wolverine a few times... If someone doesn't believe me I'll snag pics later today. The thing is just plain a piece of crap.

Please do not post pics of that ugly thing. I saw him a few times a while back and I still have nightmares.

Amen. For this is our charge as the Brothers of Good Wolverine Heads.

Iron Fist has 2 completely different bodies. COOL TOY REVIEW: Marvel Universe Photo Archive - Iron Fist (Orson Randall Variant)

Oops oh yeah you're right, they also interchanged bodies, but it's NOT a new sculpt just a repainted existing body.

It's the same idea...

Now I'm no expert, but you don't make much of an argument either, how am I wrong, please explain.

Just ignore him. He makes aggro comments and then tries to make it seem like you're the one being aggressive.

Did the new Iron Fist have Black Spidey's body?

They could just resculpt the head like they did with Punisher and reuse the body for another release later on.

They also remolded Green/Gray Hulk's head to release Red Hulk, so there's even more of a precedent that we could see another release. Although I will lean towards it being a new release like Punisher/Rulk as opposed to a variant like Iron Fist.

Yes. This pic pretty much says it all:

What's interesting is that I don't really like the new Wolverine head either. There is no argument it is a huge upgrade over the first one, no doubt about it. But for my money I will just pass on it altogether.

Does this mean you're not in the "vast majority of us"?

I vote we create a retarded head Wolverine smiley.

On a serious note, new head sculpts asside, am I the only one who thinks Wolverine needs to be shorter than Hasbro is currently making him? I would also like a new body mold that allows for his arms to cross more over his centerline so that you can create the "X" sign with his claws more effectively.

It could even replace the Dunce smiley. Or give it a hammer and it could be the new LOL smiley.

I've always felt that ToyBiz and Hasbro make Wolverine too tall. According to Marvel, Wolverine should be 5' 3". For comparison, the Jim Hammond Human Torch is supposed to be 6' 3" (Johnny Storm is 5' 10"). In both cases, Wolverine should be at least half a head shorter than either of other two.

Oh, hell yeah. I want more free moving arms and I want the height fixed. If you pop the head off and take a look, the neck is way too long. If they made that the size of, say, Daredevil's neck and shortened the legs a bit, fixed the arms, it'd be perfect.

Let's say I'm in the vast majority agreeing the first head is garbage, but not in the vast majority that would buy the second head, if that makes sense. Or how about, I'll avoid both like the swine flu?

Works for me too. Luckily I planned on skipping his figure entirely anyway.

One reason I would like a correct scale Wolverine is to recreate this scene for my display at home when the new Juggy comes out for MU. One of my favorite scenes actually since it shows just how ballsy Logan can be even when he stands no chance.

I'm thinking maybe the X-MO:W Logan from the Sabertooth vs Logan two pack (with the motorcycle) might be a good candidate for this scene until MU does something better (if they do).

Yeah man, that Wolvie would be good for it. Except he had the bone claws and may struggle to look up. But you could angle him a bit.

Greenskar 12-10-2009 11:23 PM

Nothing a little steel claw mod won't rectify. As for the head looking up, that shouldn't be a problem considering Logan is looking straight in this scene.
