I take it that backpack can't come off?

NoodleChow 02-19-2012 03:35 PM

hmmm.. may get one just for the forearms and belt.

CLASSIFIED 02-19-2012 04:02 PM

Sweet Hawkeye figure, he'll look nice on my shelf right next to Hot Lips and Honey Cut.

ML compatible movie figures are slated to come out after the movie does, but before the DVD release, according to interview masters over at The Fwoosh.

It's gonna be a long year...

Snowflakian 02-19-2012 04:22 PM

I think I might be skipping him. Will decide when I see him in store, but he's not high on my wants list now.

Love his holsters, but all around the backpack holes are a big turn off.

The first in-package pic I was like, 'this is what everyone's been crying about?'. Then the first 2 out of package pics I was like 'ok, that actually looks good.' Then I saw the next pics....what is up with these gimmicks, ugly ass shit hanging off his back, wtf gun cannon is that thing. Then the list comes out...overall cool looking, maybe ill see what's up after the movie comes out.

Sigh, Hasbro, what are you doing??? Get your head out your asses. Maybe your people in r&d need to look at collectors sites and read the forums. I know these are intended for kids, but they ain't buying!!! Price increases for what is in essence repaints, BS toy gimmicks we really don't want, wasting money on a new line of molds that could of used exisiting or newer current (DD, BE, Cyclops/Cable mold) superior molds.

NoodleChow 02-19-2012 05:20 PM

i'd still buy a bunch of these if they just had a simple cut waist pivot.

wolverine2281 02-19-2012 07:12 PM

Only in NY...

sug2763 02-19-2012 08:31 PM

Hasbro did the same with some Cap figures with the no ankle/wrist swivel. WHY?!

THIS! Think how much they could save (and make!) by using existing MU bucks for the movie lines! Instead of spending MORE money for new tooling with less articulation that we don't want to buy! I DON'T GET IT. Everybody would win!

behindthemask 02-19-2012 10:47 PM

Another half decent figure, with a super rediculous weapon that's almost the size of the figure, and on top if it doesn't even fit properly in the figures hand, what a complete waste of plastic, why they couldn't of given him 2 clustered pieces of arrows and a few loose arrows.

FUCK YES dude ^ this is all I'm asking for as well... :(

I wonder if maybe they'll give us some figs with added articulation for wave 3?
(pie in the sky dream I know, but it doesn't hurt to hope does it?)

I think you missed the point: Hasbro has said that it was the articulation as much as the new tooling that was costing them. With movie figures, there is a certain look that the figure requires to appear like its character on the screen. To their credit, they didn't reduce the articulation of figures already made, but when new tooling was required, they reduced it then. Hasbro has basically said that this is a money grab for them during a movie year. They argue kids don't care about articulation so they are reducing it for movie figures but not messing with other lines (except apparently the Clone Wars figures).

To be fair, it is better than one of the GI Joe figures that was unreleased that they changed the tooling to reduce the hip articulation on it! That is when it hurts!

no clue, but at least black widow has everything but a waist pivot from what i could tell from the toyfair photos and the wax looking master. ball neck, swivel hinged elbows, pivot wrists, swivel hinged hips, pivot thighs, double knees, and maybe rocker ankles. maybe the skrull like alien will have some but it's anybody's guess at this point.

Jason Abbadon 02-20-2012 05:27 AM

Is the alien confirmed even? I never saw any pics of one.

NoodleChow 02-20-2012 05:34 AM

ah yeah, nothing concrete. i read in various places that there was an unannounced villain in wave 3 and i think people assumed it was the aliens. there were also pics of the marvel select avengers stuff with a black tinted window with a figure behind it. saw it on one site but they blurred the pic and i assumed it was the aliens.

Jason Abbadon 02-20-2012 09:47 AM

I forsaw that joke a mile away...

Actually some of the newest Clone Wars figures lack articulation, like no ankle joints nor torso articulation.

Even the newest Anakin got mauled of articulation. Freaking Anakin of all people. Last year they gimped Obi Wan too.
