And now, a few pics of my one divergence from 3 3/4" stuff. Here is my small and humble collection of Transformers.

Vintage GI (these are all from my childhood, so some are missing a few parts and some have a bit more play wear than others. Optimus Prime was my first Transformer ever, so he obviously bore the brunt of my play):

100+ Joes in one Weekend

I decided to have a little fun this Memorial Day weekend and do something a little different.

Most of you who know me on Toyark know me as a moc collector. However most don't know the reasons why so many of my toys are moc. It's not really because I have illusions that any but a few of my toys will be worth big bucks some day. It's actually because I just haven't found the time to open them or the room to display them. Between work, family, and all the ups and downs of life, I have accumulated mountains of toys and never had any chance to open them and play around with them. I have piles and piles of boxes and I've got to start conserving space.

So, starting this weekend, many of my toys are on the road to freedom from their plastic prisons!

I decided to kick things off with a Memorial Day challenge. Condense this first stack (mostly Rise of Cobra, Pursuit of Cobra, and 30th Joes):

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG027.jpg

Into this:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG028.jpg

A lofty goal I know.

So I started things off on Friday by pulling out the single pack figs and laying them out to see what I was dealing with:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9049.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9054.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9055.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9056.jpg

I could see this was going to take some time so I got to work.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9058.jpg

By the end of Friday I had the Renegades singles opened:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9059.jpg

By the end of Saturday I had all of the POC and 30th singles opened:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9061.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9062.jpg

I've still got the ROC singles, and then lots of multi-packs and vehicles still to go and only Sunday and Monday to do it in. I may not make it through in just one weekend...

Updates still to come...

solo0525 05-27-2012 11:33 AM

That's pure awesome !!! I wish I were there too watch it all opened lol sweet collection of joes!!

Snailbot 05-27-2012 12:08 PM

Congratulations! If you're going to open a bunch of figures, starting with the POC line is a pretty awesome way to do it.

Got all the ROC singles opened on Sunday.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9067.jpg

Now for Monday I've got these multi-packs. If I have time I may get to some vehicles as well.

Man that's a lot of joes .. I so regret not getting that roc monkey wrench .. He's the only nock I'm missing ... Sweet collection

neatogecko 05-29-2012 02:09 PM

And finally, here are the multi-packs opened:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...o/IMG_9074.jpg

All told I opened 118 figures. What a blast! And the best part of all is that, accessories aside, they don't even fill up two drawers on this little thing. In no time at all I will have plenty of room...for more toys...

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG035.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG034.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG036.jpg

Anyone need about 80 ridiculously large, spring loaded toy missile launchers with brightly colored, suspiciously shaped "missiles"???

neatogecko 06-07-2012 08:46 AM

After watching The Avengers for the third time, I just had to crack open my movie toys.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG060.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG069.jpg

Even though it is on the small side, I kind of dig the Quinjet.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG073.jpg

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG071.jpg

And a few classic Hulk moments from the movie:

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG075.jpg
"Humpf."

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/...cko/IMG070.jpg
"Puny God."

solo0525 06-08-2012 06:16 AM

Love the recreated moments from the movie .. Quinjet does look cool

Some of the bases I use are Christmas or Halloween decorations from Michaels Craft. Others are Warhammer terrain pieces.
