Yes, it always starts with one. :) Then it kind of gets out of control...

Awesome picture ^^

I also forgot to comment earlier, but Keldor is a pretty cool figure. I like how he comes with the potion.

bog 03-01-2012 12:32 PM

Is $70 total a good deal for He-Man, Skeletor and Battlecat?

Thanks, I was going to stick She-Ra in there, too, but it's a bitch to get her back on Swiftwind. Then i was going to use Adora instead and I just said screw it. And yes, I realize I don't have King Grayskull in the photo. LOL. He's still in transit.

bog 03-01-2012 12:32 PM

I've never looked on ebay or anything

Yeah, won't get any cheaper than that unless you pick it up from someone who just doesn't want them and doesn't care if they loose a ton of money. Thought it'd be less though. Matty has He-man and Skeletor for around 16 each and Battlecat for around 25. Should be around 57 before shipping. A hell of a deal. I was going to get another She-ra just to patch up my Goddess figure. Anyone else have issues with her leg cracking off the waist?

bog 03-01-2012 12:36 PM

Shipping is $13 and tax is $4

thechris 03-01-2012 12:37 PM

Yeah that's a good deal. Great deal. Get them, seriously. You'll be wasting your time trying to find a better deal and kicking yourself in the butt for missing it.

Tiberius 03-01-2012 12:43 PM

Meh I will wait till next payday. If there is He-Man left, I'll get one. If not. I'll be a scalper to pay these redonk prices.

Could you explain this?

As stated a couple posts before, I am brand new to these figs.

He-Man and Skeletor are up for purchase every single day. The current sale price is good until 3/20.

He-man, Skeletor, She-Ra, Panthor and Battlecat are available all year round, you have 20 days to take advantage of the 30% offer (and I highly recommend it, lol). :) I'm sure there are plenty of people who would be satisfied with those 5 figures. They're pretty much the core characters of the MOTU Universe, though you may want a Swiftwind and Hordak to go with She-Ra but then it just gets crazy from that point. :)

If you can afford it, you should get the core characters. It's a very good offer and Battlecat and Panthor will display very nicely together. She-Ra is a great price for a once highly sought after figure.

Gah, you beat me to it!

He-Man, Skeletor, Battle Cat, Panthor and She-Ra will all be available all year long, so no worries there. You'll be able to pick any of those up any time you like. However, the 30% discount on those specific figures is only good until the 20th of May, so if you're serious about getting any I'd highly suggest you do so before then. You will never find them for a better price.

EDIT: OV and thechris both beat me to it. LOL

Tiberius 03-01-2012 12:54 PM

Haha yea, I am only interested in getting He-Man and She-Ra to start. Then I can branch from there. I just got car insurance in the next 2 days [1300 smackers] so that puts me waaaaaaaaaaay back. I get paid again on the 15th. So I can wait. Thanks for the info guys. Makes waiting a lot easier knowing Skelly and Manny are up all year round!

thechris 03-01-2012 12:55 PM

And the award for the most quoted post goes to... ::drumroll:: Tiberius with "Meh I will wait till next payday. If there is He-Man left, I'll get one. If not. I'll be a scalper to pay these redonk prices." ::applause::

bog 03-01-2012 01:00 PM

It didnt have She-Ra available...

Tiberius 03-01-2012 01:02 PM

Thank you, thank you, I am here year round.

MattyCollector.com Online Store - She-Ra

On a side note, I just realized that my He-Ro is the rarer SDCC version. (Just took his armor off to reveal the symbol on his chest). I had no idea. So pleased. :)

Tiberius 03-01-2012 01:04 PM

What a babe...seriously.

I think that's actually a fairly common problem with that figure. Something about the translucent plastic they used. Mattel even released the following response concerning the issue (courtesy of He-Man.org):

Green Goddess – Breakage Issues on the Torso

Despite constant rumors, this issue had nothing to do with “cheap plastic” or even the use of translucent plastic. A small percentage of Green Goddess figures did have issues with the lower torso cracking. This was the same issue we had with retail DCUC Wave 3 and Wave 4 produced at around the same time. The sonic welder used to fuse the joints together was causing microscopic tears in the plastic which would later lead to breakage. We quickly tried to inform customers that this was a joint issue and not a plastic issue (although for some reason many didn't believe us and cusotmers continue to rail about cheap plastic which I assure you is not the case as noted above) What is key, is as you may have noticed, this issue has not come up in ANY other figure since then. Fans and customers like to use this as a bell cow for QC issues, but it only happened to one figure and we quickly resolved the issue by recalibrating the sonic welder. So it hasn't and won't happen again. ISSUE RESOLVED!

Yeah it's lame. I bought her off an Arker and the leg was detached from her body in transit. LOL. Luckily she's a cheaper figure. I pity the poor souls who got the Con exclusive King Grayskull in the special box whose foot and right arm snap off if you look at him funny. He goes for like $200-$400 on lameBay and unlike the robot Astar in the safety commercial, you CANNOT put his arm back on, so play it safe.

Looks like She-Ra is my priority haha.

bog 03-01-2012 01:09 PM

I literally just put my order in. I called customer service to add She-Ra and Panthor, who I somehow missed, so that I wouldn't have to pay an additional shipping and they refused to add them. I was then informed that I can't cancel and just reorder.

Should I not think that sucks? Or am I just naive?

Tiberius 03-01-2012 01:10 PM

No...that is pretty flipping stupid...wow...

Yes, but Adora's figure is strangely hotter in some ways. And for whatever reason, I think Battleground Evil Lyn's short hair look is pretty fantastic even though everyone hates the figure, I think it looks waaay better than the vintage variant. I actually consider it my default Evil Lyn.
