Here are the next two additions to my custom figures...Baron Strucker (I sculpted the eye patch) and the Maestro! Both heads from our very own Darth Onyx.

Here's the Vulture. He just needs a blast or two of matte finish.
|
Great work buddy!!! Love your customs!!!
|
Thank you, pro! As you know, I enjoy your customs as well!
|
you know there's a custom buck for sale at BBTS that would make a good chameleon
|
Nice work on the customs. I did something similar too with the different members they've added. I dig that vulture and sandman. I suggest getting the ear comms from marauderinc to give to the sinister six.
|
@jim - I saw that a while back. I may just add it to my pile of loot.
@sym - Thanks, bro! I just looked through that site and my jaw freakin' dropped. They have so much awesome stuff. All I could think of was Punisher...Deadpool...Bullseye, lol. |

I need to finish some damn customs already instead of starting more! I keep having these great idea for more when I'm at work and writing recipies down- I have a list next to me right now! LOL! I was thinking of an easy Nova custom- just make the pointy parts of her head with styrene or putty, drill out the back of her head and glue in a mane of curmpled aluminum foil- then add hot glue and paint with Tamiya clear color orange and yellow.... Could be epic, if you wanna give it a go!;) |

@Jason - I wish I had that kind of talent! I'll leave those projects to the Jason Abbadons of the world, lol. |

Easing back into customizing with a quick Nick Fury, Jr. and Queen Veranke version 2.0. I didn't like the chin from my first Vernake so I used globs of paint on her chin and dimpled it with an Xacto knife. Subtle but I like it :)
Credit ashketch for Nick Jr. about 85% of the kitbashing was already done for me! |
Nice work dude!
|
Thanks DFD! BTW, any thoughts on third party Hot Toys head sculpts? I want a Chris Evans dome and they look good in the pictures but I'm pretty picky and I'm afraif they'll not be up to par in person.

A time consuming custom and not-so time consuming custom. Bishop uses the Cable body (I know the cybernetic arm is supposed to be on a different version of him but I like it!), a CP Gambit scarf, and a custom head from Onyx. Stryfe is a simple head swap with an Ultron body and a CP Thor cape. Hope you all like it.
|
I like your bishop, vulture, sandman, baron von strucker, maestro, great job on all of it.
|
very nice bishop, i orderd a bishop head cast from onyx like 2 weeks ago. hasnt shown up yet, how long did it take you to get yours in?
|
Thanks WM, but Sandman isn't my design, lol. I'd love to take credit for him but it's the BAF from the Spiderman (2?) movie line.
@Lee - Thanks! Brian's time frame per his website is 4-6 weeks though he rarely approaches the 6 week period. He's gotten me stuff super quick when he's not busy. My suggestion is to get in touch with him via email, he's responsive, and he'll let you know the ETA. |
Marc, Your stuff is top notch. The Vulture can be mistaken for an actual figure and your Baron Zema just got released at SDCC right!? lol. Great great work man. I dont know how you guys do the action figures so well, All the joint painting and whatnot is tough work and you do it so well. Styfe has always been a favorite character of mine and its amazing that a simple head swap with an Ultron body looks perfect! I may have to think about that for my own collection lol. Great work Marc!
On a somewhat related note I think im the only person who still calls him "M" Bishop lol. |
LOL. Thanks for the praise f1sh! I'm more of a repainter and kit-basher than a sculptor so I always try to give credit to the guys that supply the parts and pieces.
I'm kicking myself for not commissioning a Captain Hammer from you. My wife and I were lucky enough to meet Nathan Fillion at SDCC. Keep your fingers crossed that we'll meet Jewel next month and hopefully have her take a pic with the Kaylee mugg you made me. |
