I feel like they are making up for Civil War a little bit since they had the X-Men sitting that one out. The problem in the past was always that Thor was just too much to handle realistically.

yeah, I was dissapointed in new avengers # 24...I thought there would be more, but it was just more "heres why its all happening BS...I wish I would have known, or I would be 4 $ richer...

Wolverine, the resident mary sue as of late. He's like marvel's Batman, it was completely off putting, especially in origins.

If the events of X-Sanction hold...I'd say a fully powered uninhibited Cable could at least go toe to toe with him. Cable once broke the Silver Surfer's Board when they clashed.

His technoorganic virus is now apparently healed (courtesy of Hope), however, he has only shown signs of telepathy and not telekenesis as of yet. Up until recently he had claimed his powers had faded away into practically nothing. He was near god-like during parts of the Cable/Deadpool series...i actually hope they dont return him to that level of omnipotence again.

Anyway...as for anyone else...not sure.

It worked in the ultimates but not 616 continuity. Matter of fact the avengers also beat the Magneto led X-Men years ago.

well I am getting a little excited for AvX #2 and Avengers #25...

both AvX #2 and Avegners #25 came out today annnd......one tidbit came into play with Hope. im not sure where you guys stand on spoilers.

Well ok then. It only took to issue two for hope to start losing control, and the wild card mutants take sides. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver(who punches magneto) also get bring into the story, with leaving it ambiguous which side she is on, even though her journal gives away a confrontation with the Phoenix. Also, Iron Man is apparently now immune to Magneto.

In Avengers, we only get 2 pages of AvX story, while wrapping the AIM power stealing nonsense. No-Varr may be a future problem after his conversation with the Supreme Intelligence.

Iron man's armor warns him that extreme magnetic fields have been detected and then implements "anti-magnetism safeguards". The next panel follows with a blurb about "Man in a metal suit vs Mutant master if magnetism. If you thought this was no contest then you never met Tony Stark."

Yeah I picked those up today and totally disappointed in Avengers cause it was a waste of $ to get since it really didn't show anything of AVX ugh!

On a side note X-Force was wicked! Man I hope this series stays going for a very long time...

its too bad xforce isnt a tie-in. wouldve gave the xmen the added boost of numbers. then again i have no idea who theyd side with. maybe the avengers.

yeah im not reading everything, but the other books make it concrete where wolvie stands on this. If you have a synopsis go right on ahead.

I read WatXM #9 and it was just showing what happened at the Jean Grey school during Cap's visit from the beginning of AvX #1...which wasn't much except blindfold was crying. Which, since she can see the future, implies something really bad is going to happen.

As for Wolverine, he's playing out like I expected he would which was like spidey in civil war. He's an Avenger now but the cover of #3 has him fighting cap, and while covers tend to be misleading almost always, it seems almost certain Wolvie will go back to supporting the X-men at some point, or at least his X-men. Which is where he belongs, IMO.

I'm actually more interested in the New Avengers tie-in where they explain the Immortal Iron fists and the mystical city of Kun Lun's connection with the Phoenix Force.

That's probably why they're not including X-Force because they have the school already, plus X-Force is suppose to be the black ops team so no one is suppose to know about it.

X-Force exists to kill enemies that will not let up. In this case...the Threat is the Phoenix Force who is apparently coming to find it's new host, presumably Hope Summers. Wolverine has already attempted to Kill her. Hope is too powerful now to be taken out by a black ops team.

I did. I felt like it was too much like AvX#1 and the novelty has worn off on me already. This app has potential but so far I'm not impressed. Hopefully someone will come up with a clever use for it soon.

I didn't start reading Secret Avengers until Rick Remender took over on Issue 21.1. Did they ever actually kill people?

I mean C'mon, they have Beast on their team. Beast is the same guy who opposes what X-Force represents and does, even though he's finally come to terms with it at the Jean Grey School. I don't feel like these two teams are anything similar at all based on the reading, that's just me though.
