They've been slowly trying to get a cut of the whole sale for a while. They've been really pushing sellers to offer free shipping and started banning sellers who had "high" shipping prices. People used to sell items for $1 and then shipping was $50 to avoid he fees. Funny part was it would even say why they were doing it in the listing and the price overall would be fair for the item but you would still see negative feedback about high shipping. Those types of sellers usually had the lowest overall prices because they saved on the fees. It's just not worth selling on ebay anymore unless you have a very high margin of profit. |
Yeah, I've seen sellers like that, and as long as the price still evens out I don't see a problem. Look at it this way, if 1 million auctions end for $3 a piece in a day, that means Ebay cleared a million dollars. Why are they getting greedier? If I didn't need the cash I wouldn't even bother with them, but money is tight and I have to make ends meet until I finish school. Until then, I don't mind occasionally letting a few figures go but this is getting ridiculous.

Being in Canada I understand the shipping issue. I have seen quite a few shockers at toysrus and a few at my superstore along with lizard and scorpion. I had 3 and had a hard time selling them at cost, a little over 11$ after our taxes. It is ridiculous that Canada post charges around 10$ for one figure moc.

I wonder what the going rate was? I shipped 2 figures to canadia in exchange for mine and felt like I was getting a deal in the process.
I will believe that until they show up at Ross for 4 dollars. |

They have been doing the shipping thing for awhile. People would sell low and charge silly amounts of shipping then eBay didn't make the kind of money they wanted too.
|
Yeah, but these new Ebay fees effect everyone, not just people who are running that trick. It's their way of squeezing another couple of bucks out of everyone, which adds up to millions in their pocket within a matter of days.

I only list if it is free. I have NEVER paid any sort of fee for listing. They take their % from each sale when it sells [if it sells].

I know you can log into Paypal and import ended eBay auctions... Maybe that's the way around this one for now. Instead of following the 'print a label' link from the auction, open Paypal and import the shipping details. Might work. |
Yeah, I mentioned that ol' Paypal takes their cut, but what are you referring to?

I just picked one of these up for $3 on the MUTL Facebook page. People don't seem to value it as highly as they once did. Not a great fig, but a needed one.
|
it was never released in the US and ebay prices suck,so if your in canada(as you are)you lucked out,I think the rest of us still want the figure but why talk about something you prolly wont ever end up finding?

Tiberus hooked me up with mine- he looks nice but you need to dot his eyes with dark brown idf nothing else- he's got these creepy dark blue dots for eyes.
Been thinking about giving him better articulation but I dont want to sink taht kinda effort into the Shocker. |

I'm still looking for a Shocker fig. Prices have been the main reason I put it off for so long. Would not pay over $20 for him. Even cringe a little going that high at all. |
how dare anyone call this figure a MU shocker
|
Yup its basically the price/shipping that keeps collectors from getting this figure and the chance that it will show up at "discount" stores. ( the last wave of IM2 "the Mandarin Wave" was found at these stores )

If I took a four inch dump, it would be in scale with the MU line. Would you call it a MU poop?
The Spiderman line figures are the same thing. 4 inch poop |

one man's trash I guess. But that Hobgoblin is not the same as the MU Hobbie at all. And he has those Starwars knees. I don't know how anybody could like them
|
Some are quality figures despite their articulation like the Mac Gargan Venom and Rhino.

Carnage needed proper articulation, but I agree that his figure needed to exist.
