Is it safe to assume that 12-inch and props are dead?

I don't know about the 12-inch, but they just announced the Ant-Man helmet prop, so the props aren't dead. At least, not yet.

Spyne98 02-18-2019 12:50 PM

Damn, missed the Loki set. Really need Corvus.

Couple thoughts on Spiderman waves:
  • Dwight has mentioned that the Marvel Legends team wants to make a vintage Spiderman wave, which would be the 90s animated series. Maybe we'll see some of the bigger villains remade in their 90s animated costumes?
  • I like the PS4 game and the designs but so much of that will require new tooling. However, Mr. Negative is definitely feasible and should be made.
  • Demon gang members would also be possible.
  • Does anyone else think that the Pizza Spiderman mold is reaching the end of its life? Dwight mentioned at SDCC that they would begin to retire molds once they became worn out and they've been using the Pizza Spidey for 5 years now. Maybe they'll start using the Sunfire body or they'll debut a new mold for Spiderman in a SM vintage wave.

There a link to the interview?

Just got my Kingpin wave from Hasbro Pulse. I ordered Friday got it today. If they are able to do this with all the figures then they will be my go to if I can't find locally.

That would be a great way to sell the BAF Rhino on its own, maybe with a classic head that isn't screaming with popped-out eyes. Of course Kingpin too.

I'm bummed that Corvus Glaive is only going to be in a two pack that's exclusive to Walmart but I guess there are silver linings. My Walmarts were pretty good at stocking their last exclusive two pack (the Iron Man one) and I never got Ragnarok Loki because he looked sickly but they've gotten better at face printing since then so hopefully he looks right this time. Proxima would've been the most appropriate character to pack with Corvus but I imagine most people like myself who wanted the pair already got her, and if it had been Ebony Maw instead of Loki then this pack might sell too well and I'd never even see it.

If I were to pick out the Animated series lineup it'd be:

Classic Spidey (on a new, less gangly body)

Mysterio with yellow gloves and boots

Armored Doc Ock

Rhino

Alastair Smythe (mutated)

Hobgoblin (straight rerelease or with new head)

Kingpin with purple pants

Wouldn't mind a trenchcoat Morbius too!

The PS4 Spidey made great use of the Sunfire body.

Agreed! I really wanted to get that but the head just looked really off on the body haha

Trivial Psychic 02-18-2019 05:39 PM

Netflix officially cancelled Jessica Jones and Punisher today. We knew it was coming, but I thought I'd mention it.

Im sure they will pop up on disneys scamming......streaming service. If its not on over the air antennae i dont bother. Getting all hese scamming......streaming channels it costs just about the same or more as cable/satelite and many still air commercials. If im paying for aomething i so not want any ads, commercials etc.

Honestly it really isnt that bad in hand. It quickly became my default spidey on my shelf.

Yeah, I thought it looked off at first but before I even finished getting him out of the box I totally accepted it.

It depends on what Spidey thay plan to do. Only a more modern Spidey would work on that body. High School or early college years would not.

The specific comments about vintage style figures starts around the 7 minute mark. Dwight mentions several heroes like X-Men, Spiderman, and Fantastic Four that they have talked about making vintage lines for. He doesn't specifically mention Spiderman: The Animated Series but I don't recall Spiderman ever having his own toy line before SM:TAS.

I couldn't find any thing on the retiring bodies once the molds had become worn out. That info may have come from another convention.

Well in the cartoon Spidey was definitely more on the hunk end of the spectrum so since we were talking about figures themed around that I think it's a good pick.

Nice! I didn’t notice the Antman helmet was out now. I’ll wait for it to tank in price, they always do. I just picked up the BP helmet almost 50% off. I’ve got them all so far.

Good to know! I picked up a few figures due to the free shipping and membership offer today. I guess I’ll be seeing them before Friday?

I’ll have Charles Xavier and his Hoverchair after work tomorrow. Maybe even the parts to finish the Kree Sentry. I’m still hunting Red Hulk parts if anyone is looking to trade...

SymbiSpidey 02-18-2019 09:21 PM

I'm pretty sure we'll see the Netflix shows pop back up on Hulu once Disney acquires Fox. Might even make it possible to crossover with Runaways and Cloak and Dagger (Misty Knight was mentioned in C&D and Bridget from C&D was mentioned in Luke Cage).

My only concern is whether actors are willing to return or not. I think Charlie Cox already said he'd love to come back. And Jon Bernthal seems to really enjoy his role as The Punisher so we'll see.

Hulu would be the worst place to bring them out on. I'm still waiting for Runaways S1 to come to BD so I can watch it and the show came out over a year ago. Season 2 has already even come out on the network.

So anywhere from roughly 1978 to the present, then.

I thought Disney owned a piece of Hulu. Either way, the four original shows are contractually on hiatus for the next two years. However, Punisher wasn't part of the original deal between Marvel and Netflix so he can come back as soon as a deal is worked out.
