well the strange thing with this figure is the picture on the back is the chrome version but the smaller pic of him with the rest of the wave is flesh tone.

Boba Fettuccini 10-13-2011 06:15 PM

Maybe there isn't one set variant... they're both just variants without one being the 'normal' one.

Technicly, both are variants of the SW comic pack!

...though some claim there needs to be a card with a number or what have you, I SAY THEE NAY!

Sorry, Thor moment, there.

Damn if that is the logic. 75% of MU are all variants of each other!!!! Damn you Hasbro!!!

Venom711 10-13-2011 06:30 PM

ok so i heard back from him and he has them on hold for some other comic shop but if the deal doesnt go through i will let you all know!
sorry for the delay!
also just got my hands on the latest wave and i have to agree its a bit underwhelming =[

Jason Abbadon 10-13-2011 06:30 PM

Well,,only the carded versions of the comic pack figures.
Or the carded Storm- she's count too.
And Comic Pack Sabertooth.

hmm...and the Silver Surfer (both versions with Galactus- both have different paint apps than the carded figure).

bmorr 10-13-2011 06:32 PM

ok, according to wikipedia, that new tony stark has two different plate stands for you completests out there. a "tony stark" and "iron man" plate. its wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt. On the absorbing man debate, since the metal one came out first, doesnt that make it the regular one?

Ronin Assassin 10-13-2011 06:32 PM

Yea I saw the Street Fighter figs yesterday....Had to pass though, cus the paint apps were fugly..I hope all the ones on pre order are painted better....Cus I really like the sculps on these figs.....

Well Also all the Spider-Men, Iron Men, Wolverines. Black Panther, Punisher in the Target pack. Warpath. Deadpools. Dr Doom. Captain Americas. The flame on human torch. and the two regular. etc etc......

I think variants should only be consider variants if they are the same pack/#. Anything else is a "new" figure.

It's hard to trust Wiki. They said there was a WWH variant.

Looks like visual confirmation of the Variant.

MarvelTF918 10-13-2011 07:27 PM

I believe the absorbing version is the variant fo many reasons:
1.) The front box art shows normal Absorbing Man.
2.) Though the main picture on the back of his card shows the absorbed version, the cards are said to have the non-absorbed version in the "collect them all" section.
3.) It seems logical that the regular version of figures tend to be the original, while the figure with the charcaters "powered-up" form, in classic costume, etc. are the variant.
Why does it matter again?

usagent27 10-13-2011 07:32 PM

Went to target today and picked up a Darkhawk and Wolverine from the first was....new head. Anyone need them? Shoot me a pm.
