and for now that BAF doesn't look like anything i need to own either.

aiight IronKen...i see you... WOOKANDA 4EVA son!!!!
and don't think i didn't see your toe at the 1:15 mark..:D

Time to speculate! Can't tell if Armored Thanos has a full gauntlet or not but that's definitely Cap's first Avengers movie mask!

They gave my man Cap the SpongeBob SquarePants torso it looks like

En Sabah Nerd 03-20-2019 03:33 PM

Well at least Hercules looks like he should size up well in the long run. With more pictures, Ronin no longer feels like something I'm even possibly wanting so Ebony Maw is now the only one from this wave I will actively pursue. It is pretty funny that armored Thanos is smaller than weekend casual Thanos, hopefully this time around we'll get a DST version done instead.

Maybe its the cosmic version of a girdle.

SymbiSpidey 03-20-2019 03:44 PM

This wave does look pretty half-assed, outside of Ronin, Ebony Maw and Hercules. Even the BAF, despite the odd scaling, looks to at least make for a good figure.

With Captain America, it's so obvious they took the male body from the QR 2-pack and just stuck a Cap head on it with no regard for Cap's proportions.

The other figures in the wave look decent, but nothing special and I can't shake the feeling of them being wave filler.

DarthKamen 03-20-2019 05:08 PM

Huh.

So I guess it's time to wait and see if Figuarts does Ronin. Don't let me down Tamashii.

Though if he goes cheap, yes please to Living Laser.

NOT MINE
these are a pic from JBRIII

why is the falcon dude reminding me of a Hannah Barbera character?

Jesus, I am not feeling this wave. Except maybe Hercules, this is an easy pass for me. It just feels cheap and half-assed. It doesn’t feel up to snuff with their current stuff, except for Ebony Maw (who is wildly out of scale).

TheBlueMarvel 03-20-2019 05:27 PM

Lol How is it that armored Thanos tracks smaller than the unarmored version? There's a bit of image warp in the photos, for sure, but even with that considered it appears noticeably smaller. Smaller arms. Smaller legs where the quadriceps taper into the knees. Narrowed shoulders. Thinner through the hips. Smaller feet. It even looks to be a bit shorter. Thanos and his amazing reducing armor; the antithesis of what one would expect...

Maybe he's using the Power stone to bulk himself up? The Hot Toys GOTG armored Thanos is actually a lot smaller than the Infinity War Thanos, though this Legends discrepancy isn't nearly as blatant haha

Starlord67 03-20-2019 06:47 PM

Loving the Nighthawk,Citizen V, Living Laser and Herc figures. Not collecting movie figs anymore so skinny Thanos is not a let down.

hasbroherofan 03-20-2019 06:50 PM

Thanos lost muscle mass not hitting the gym every day.

Vamp 03-20-2019 07:21 PM

He's wearing pants because he finally decided to, dude's been around for centuries so at some point it figures he'd see what the fuss was about. Also I feel like it's weird to describe ancient Greece as barbaric, by modern standards it sure was but relative to the time they were pretty civilized. This thought could easily carry on to the concept of "barbarians" in general as the word has consistently been used to criticize foreigners and initially just meant someone wasn't from Greece.

Is he though? We don't get a lot of great shots showing him off next to normal people but in the opening scene Loki doesn't even quite reach his shoulder level and then Iron Man needs Peter's help to operate his ship's steering system referring to it as meant for one big guy.

On looking it up, you are right, he isn’t super tall compared to the normal height characters. I am a little weirded out that the figure is the same height as Cull Obsidian and Thanos, who are bigger in the movie.

Im glad hes got pants and not a pastel green speedo and snm harness. ;)

MarvelGuy85 03-21-2019 06:57 AM

Ronin looks like a snowboarder lol. Not exactly what I imagined. I'm sure he will be cool in Endgame, but the toy doesn't look great.

I also was holding out hope for the Armored Thanos BAF, but those side by side pictures don't look to great with the standard Thanos BAF. DTL has a point why is he skinnier with armor on?

Not to mention if you look at the side-by-side pic (with the previous BAF release) the new figure's legs are too short. Or his torso is too long. It looks completely off.

I did. Went in for 8 basic plus 2 deluxe. Kinda feel I went overboard being this is my first time backing a Kickstarter project. I don't regret it though. I've communicated with the creator a couple of years ago and found out he was a local so I had to throw him my support. Besides, I needed SWAT and mercs for my Legends to beat on.

I could have grabbed both of them for about 30 bucks two years ago as Purple Man was still averaging about 20 bucks and people were practically giving away their Sandman figures once that BAF dropped. Yet somehow, they've jumped up into a price range I'm no longer comfortable with, especially Purple Man, who I just don't feel is worth dropping 60 dollars on essentially a purple tinted suited body.

I feel you on Killgrave. I slept on him when he was reasonably priced because I thought we would get more Netflix characters. Now with the shows being cancelled, I'll doubt if that will ever happen. Too bad Dr. Who figures are 5 inch scale. I would've scooped one up and put the David Tennant head on a Coulson body. Here's hoping for a comic Daredevil wave that includes a re-release of Purple Man.
