Paint the gold parts in, and it would actually make a pretty good generic Hand ninja for those of you needing army builders. Would also make for a really easy GI Joe Classic Firefly custom as well, which I'm strongly considering doing myself... |
@Triv
I don't think I'm being unfair to you at all. My last post has less to do with you and more to do with the routine phenomenon that takes place on this thread. The two pics you just posted will encourage someone to take a second look at the fig in the store bringing that person one step closer to a buy. When the movie drops, that third look becomes a trip, with fig in tow, to the cash register. Wash. Rinse. Repeat. My point from the start (weeks ago) was that grainy, or non-posed photos are not the best things to base one's opinion on. Most people here know that, yet fall into the same trap again and again. I don't foresee this wave being a best seller. However, based on the canon fig recants I've already read, your testimony plus pictorial evidence, and the trends we habitually see here - I suspect it won't underperform as hard as most believe. Personally, I'm waiting to see Maw. If the fig is moderately decent, I'll expand my canon fig wants to include the entire wave. ...I don't see Nighthawk warming that hard either. Actually, I don't even see Paladin around here. I see Gwenpools, Beetles, MCU Vultures, Medusas, Invisible Women, and X-23s... |

Booo! Let me give you my money. Only a matter of time, sounds like. https://66.media.tumblr.com/1726b65d...o4_r1_1280.jpg Always did like the eye-searing colors on this guy, never got around to snapping a photo before now. Don't see much lime used in the Legends toyline. |

So definitely not feeling Walmart.com preordering anymore with me and a bunch of other people getting numerous charges on our card for the Loki/Corvus Glaive set. And I know that it'll eventually go away but I've never had to deal with that anywhere else. It's just such a absurd and silly way to handle preorders.
And to top it all off, it seems like me and a bunch of other people were able to find it in-store before preorders started getting fulfilled anyway so meh. On the bright side, I got myself a Corvus Glaive and Loki 2-pack :D |
Looks like now they are cuttin the boot/calf articulation point. Dwight strikes again.

I was able to get black-hair Psylocke in this week. I really wish they just went with the purple head on that body. There wasn’t a need for a variant for her, especially that small of one. I hope they avoid these decisions in the future.

I'll post pics later but I was able to pick up the Corvus set in person at Walmart today. They also got in the Endgame wave but Hercules and Ebony Maw were already gone.

FYI – I just spoke with a Gamestop manager about their Marvel Legends offerings and he informed me that their new CEO is moving the company away from stocking Legends and toward pre-order only. I asked whether the decision was based on poor sell through, to which he replied he wasn’t sure, but most likely, that was the rationale. He also said the new CEO wants to return Gamestop to a retail outlet known primarily for games, citing that they had too many non-gaming sku’s on shelves. I commented that I thought that was pretty short sighted and that gaming and toy collecting were interests that cross-pollinated; often the same person that games also collects figures/collectables and vice versa. He agreed and shared with me that they’ve started this new campaign where they take your info and add you to a VIP list and call you when new Marvel merch (or Star War/ Anime/ etc) is in stock, similar to the way they call for games. I told him that this could possibly work because many collectors have been complaining about the difficulty of finding exclusives at Walgreens and Walmart in the wake of TRU’s demise. We laughed at how he would likely be the one calling me, because, as has been mentioned often here, not all employees are as committed to what they do.
In any event, I thought I’d share this with the community. Maybe someone else brought it up previously, or knows already, but I figured I’d give you guys a heads up about the VIP list. This could work out if Hasbro starts funneling exclusives to Gamestop, saving many the headache of chasing ghost-brickseek listings. |

^ Gamestop getting into the Legends game so hard the way they did completely changed the toy hunting landscape where I am at. I remember hunting for the Juggernaut and Warlock waves and trying to find a brown suit Wolvie or Deadpool or Cyclops was super hard for me. I never saw Deadpool at retail, only saw Cyclops once at Walgreens and bought him and only saw Wolvie twice. But then fast forward to when Gamestop starting getting tons of Legends... I found all the figs I wanted from both Deadpools waves and the Apocalypse wave very easily at Gamestop... not too mention Archangel. Most of the time there were multiple figs on the pegs too so I could pick the one with the best paint apps. If Gamestop is indeed getting out of Legends in mass numbers... I will be sad to see them go for sure.
Hmmm... I wonder if I should preorder Gambit, Beast, Jubes and Forge from them just in case. |

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7895/...7fb98e20_b.jpg So Brickseek wasn't lying for my local store. If I could've passed on this Loki I would've but since it's a two pack I can't have done that and I'm okay with it. He's not incredible but he's better than the Ragnarok figure so I can't complain. His lacking of anything other than the Tesseract is lame but it's nothing against the figure itself. Corvus is exactly the figure I was expecting it to be which is fantastic. He looks great with his goblin face and his tattered cloak, and his glaive is nice. He's in the same size range as his wife and Ebony Maw but he just looks better hunching like the creature of the night he is. The only down side is that his shoulders are limited by his cloak but since this was totally expected it doesn't actually bother me enough to hold it against the toy. It only took them a year but Hasbro finally came through on the husband and wife team I've been waiting for. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7840/...720cbdde_b.jpg |
So every store on Brickseek that had the Loki/Corvus set in stock all had five of each. But none of them actually had the set on the shelves. I went to the one store Brickseek said had less than five, and they were available for the buying! Really glad I don’t need to spend any more time tracking them down.

Damn. The sculpting and detail on Corvus's clothing is pretty incredible looking.

I guess “Available Now” at Walmart means, “We probably don’t have it...”
Two different ones, same result: |
