Glad to see you nabbed Maw!

I’m going to leave this one for the next guy (hopefully not a scalper). I thought I read that you were having trouble finding one. As they say, early bird gets the worm.

I found the Glave pack in the Walmart that is supposed to be pulling one for me. I just went ahead and canceled my order. I won’t use that option on their lazy asses again.

Archangel 04-04-2019 07:35 AM

On the flip side, GameStop’s online order pulling option works fairly well on Legends. They’re my go-to now (as long as they’re in business).

Yea that's the key word there ha. As long as they stay in business. But they charge more for their legends, and I'm pretty sure I read yet another article yesterday talking about how their stock shares tanked due to another bad financial sales quarter. I like gamestop, and sometimes do use them for exclusive pops or what not, but I just don't see them sustaining for many more years.

I keep checking the toy department in the Walmart that is supposed to be getting a 2 pack for me. I'll do the same thing if I find it.
I need Maw too. Fingers crossed that I find one.
In other news, my order from Hasbro Pulse arrived last night. Hercules is my favorite of the wave. I think he looks great! Living Laser is cool. I personally wish it was his classic costume, but I'll take this. Citizen V is nice too, but his cape really stops him from moving his arms. As for Nighthawk... well he's not the worst figure I have ever seen, but that cape really makes him back heavy. And I can't seem to remember his tiny Wolverine claws in the comics. I'm not really a fan of them on the figure, but as I said, he's not the worst thing I ever saw.

Question from everyone. I recently acquired some BAF parts in a trade and they reek of smoke. Like really bad. I currently have them in a zip lock bag with a dryer sheet wrapped around them. Someone on Facebook mentioned that that was a good idea. However, it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Anyone have any ideas on how I could get the smell out? I was going to try gently washing it with soap and water when I get home. But I can't think of anything else. Maybe spray it with febreze?

SymbiSpidey 04-04-2019 08:41 AM

So I gotta say....this latest Avengers wave is a sleeper hit for me. Didn't pick up QR Cap because I don't really have any interest in it (though I might just bite it and try to get some QR Avengers going). All the figures here are really well done. Armored Thanos is a bit disappointing articulation-wise since he has no ankle rocker or waist swivel, but just standing there, he looks great.

But man, Hercules and Ebony Maw are some of my favorite figures of the entire year so far. We knew Hasbro was going to knock it out of the park with Corvus Glaive and Ebony Maw, but Hercules....there's just so much to love here.

I took him out and compared him to the first Hyperion buck figure I could find (which was Venom) and I sincerely hope this becomes the official replacement for that godawful body because it stands ever so slightly taller than that body, but without the weird ass anatomy. I would not mind if Hasbro went back and did every character that was on the Hyperion body (except for Bishop and Cable because they actually make it work) and just outright redid them on this Hercules body, because I love it. The articulation is so damn smooth on here and makes posing this figure around a dream. It's honestly my favorite comic book male body from Hasbro after the Spidey 2099 body and the Wolverine body (which is character specific anyway). This Hercules is so goddamn good. Can't wait to take photos of him and Ares.

I had some luck getting smoke smell off of vintage Kenners by placing them in a bag of baking soda for a few days, might work for BAF parts too!

I have had success with the dryer sheets in a sealed bag myself, but I was extremely patient. I think I left them for about a month in there.

I also had mild success washing them and soaking them in hot soapy water and leaving them outside in the sun for a day or two. I say mild success because that figure was so bad off that it never seemed clean to me because the smell was so intense. It did dissipate after my efforts, but it was so strong that just talking about it brings back the smell...

Robb 04-04-2019 09:00 AM

Does anyone have an extra Captain America from the infinity war series?
If so pm me.

Bo Ttef 04-04-2019 09:18 AM

I really like the 'unmasked' heroes better on the QR bodies- but everything from Pops to Legends point to them all wearing their helmets- so I used a carved up a spare QR Cap head to give him a helmet to at least "carry" along...

What are the easiest hands to use to build Shadow King? The Venom BAF parts are astronomical right now.

Thanks guys! I'll keep the dryer sheet going for a few days, maybe another week. If it still persists, I'll try baking soda. Much appreciated!

The Monster Venom hands seem to be the current favorite. However, I was thinking of using the Caliban hands when that wave hits and adding some paint. I'm getting 2 of the Skullbuster figure, so I'll have an extra arm to use. I think Forge comes with the other arm, so I may have to find an extra one of him too.
I just need to track down a second Kingpin.

You can also use the spare "monster" hands that came with either of the Marvel Select Venom figures. They fit perfectly in Kingpin's wrists, and unless you were using them for your Select Venom (I'm using the fists on mine personally) you won't even miss them.

Boy Blunder 04-04-2019 10:13 AM

I've heard that the Space Venom hands work as well, but I can't seem to find any images.

Bo Ttef 04-04-2019 10:33 AM

Another alternative- The Disney Store Select Venom has hands that will plug into the BAF KingPin arms without any modding (the peg isn't as long though)but there are a variety of hands with the figure...

So crap, my Walmart didn't have any Endgame figures out. Especially not the 2 pack. They had the titan hero figures and the smaller (4"?) figures for endgame, but no legends. So hopefully my Walmart Loki/Glaive 2 pack ships.

Went over to Target to see if they had any endgame figures. No luck. Same as Walmart. No Legends singles but had the titan heroes and smaller figures. They DID however have 2 of the Black Widow/Hawkeye 2 packs. 1 had like black marks all over hawkeyes face. The other 1 looked good, and I almost grabbed it, but realized I don't need it. Not for $40. I don't really like the Quantum Realm suits anyways and I have pre-ordered way to many Endgame figuarts figs lately on my CC so I need to bypass a few things lol.

Bo Ttef 04-04-2019 01:59 PM

let's do one more then...

I like this figure a lot but I think they should have adjusted the forearms to go with his massive shoulders and biceps. For me he suffers from bar body. His legs should definitely be bigger, too many skipped leg days lol.

I picked up my Professor X preorder at Gamestop and my wife found a lone Scarlet Spider. I never did finish the SP//dr wave, only nabbed Dagger.

And my wife surprised me with the Hulk vs Hulkbuster 2 pack. She said she was perusing Targets toy section for me and it was on clearance. So if your Target has them it might be worthwhile to check.

How much was it?

JCarterVA 04-04-2019 05:29 PM

Also try white vinegar. I read a story about someone using white vinegar to get rid of cigarette smoke in rooms.
