Upcoming Custom Transformers from TFC Toys -

Great googly moogly! TFC Toys have circulated a whole bunch of images of upcoming works in progress through their microblog (registration required). S250 gave us the heads up on the one that a lot of you will be interested in - TFC Toys Custom not-Constructicon not-Hook! He will be a part of the advertised custom combiner based on Generation 1 Devastator, and while these couple of images only give a partial view of the work in progress, it looks as though this will be an incredible piece of custom unofficial Transformers memorabilia. Share your thoughts on this piece on our 2005 Boards here.

Another pair of sets of information have also been shared around. Both have been mirrored on ACToys.net, and the first are some new images of the custom unofficial Junkion Blacksmith Headmaster types. Each one is shown in head and "alternate" mode, as well as some fun pictures showing each one in robot mode wearing the other in head mode, for a bizarre almost "cosplay" type effect.
The second set of images mirrored on ACToys.net is of an accessory set for Generation 1 Predaking. This set, from the images, appears to consist of a new set of hands, new pieces on the shoulders, and a suitably gigantic sword. The sword even appears to be modular and capable of breaking down into individual smaller weapons.

Discuss both the Predaking weapon set and the Junkion Blacksmith Headmasters by clicking here.

Transformers the Movie Draft Script

Originally posted by: Sol Fury @ TFW2005.com

Check out a genuine piece of Generation 1 Transformers history today! Jim Sorenson, over on his blog Disciples of Boltax, has shared an early draft script from Transformers Movie writer Ron Friedman. The draft, dated 4/27/1985, may well be one of the very earliest pieces of work done on the 1986 animated feature, and features lots of plot elements dropped from the final version. One element that was retained though - Optimus Prime still dies. If there was a version of the story where he survived and transformed Cybertron into a robot to fight Unicron - sorry, "Ingestor" - then it got dropped very early in the writing process.

Head on over to Jim's blog and check out this awesome piece of Transformers history - or read 2005 Boards member Anguirus' summary of the highlights after the jump!

Scans from the latest edition of Hyper Hobby magazine are up! The month of January takes its name from Janus, who in ancient tradition represented both beginnings and endings. Perhaps appropriately, then, the January 2011 edition of Hyper Hobby magazine covers the final episodes of Transformers Animated and the final releases in the Japanese Autobot Alliance Movieverse line, as well as the beginnings of the new Transformers United series, with a double page spread showing the first ten releases: Cybertronian Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Megatron and Soundwave, plus redecos of Classics Deluxe Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, Voyager Megatron, and two Generations toys making their Japanese debut Drift and Straxus! These images were initially posted over on ModxToy and relayed to you via UK site Transformers @ The Moon.

Remember way back in June we saw these images of some new Mini-con redecos? The single packs were found in Family Dollar stores, but to date, we've seen neither hide nor hair of the 8 pack anywhere. Well, our fellow Transformers fans over at The Allspark took the initiative and asked Hasbro what the story with this set was. Hasbro's response is that the set has shipped - but only in the EU.

So did anyone in the EU ever see this set? As a proud UKer, I can say I've never seen them in my neck of the woods, and never heard of any release.

Transformers: Foundation #1 and #2 Release Da

“The origin of the bitter rivalry between Optimus Prime and Megatron starts here! But what is the secret connection that will forever bind them? And how will it affect the future of all Transformers?”

That is the introduction we were told of the upcoming second prequel comic book series to Transformers 3; Transformers: Foundation. After that IDW kept everything a secret and it so happens that they even took down the entries from the newsletter as well as not publishing anything about it in their February Newsletter.

But, Comixology revealed that Transformers: Foundation issue #1 will arrive on 22nd December, 2010 and issue #2 is to release one week after the Transformers: Rising Storm debut, on 12th January, 2011.

Transformers: Rising Storm
is the 3rd prequel comic book series to Transformers: Dark of the Moon and is considered as the prequel comic that will immediately drop off the readers, moments before the third movie plot (Just like what happened for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with the prequel comic Transformers: Alliance issue #4).

Reveal the Shield Lugnut Bio

All Hail Megatron! The bio for the new version of Megatron's most loyal supporter, Lugnut, has been posted up on a Japanese Transformers BBS. Check out the bio for Reveal the Shield Lugnut below. You might notice he not only retains his "Punch of Kill Everything" for this new incarnation, but gains some technobabble explanation for how it works!

None too bright, but fanatically loyal to Megatron, Lugnut lives to see the Decepticons victorious. He literally is a force of nature on the battlefield - gravity generators in his fists spawn point singularities on impact, causing massive explosions with each punch. That, combined with his seemingly limitless supply of missiles, makes him a chaotic and deadly opponent - one that most Autobots avoid at all costs.

Scrap Heap's new head is hidden in these images, although we've previously seen it in silhouette. The Decepticon set consists of Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge, all in crystal decos - Scourge is a crystal version of his mainstream release colors, Cyclonus a crystal version of his "Battle in Space" boxset release, and Galvatron is a crystal purple deco, notable as he is here purple in tank mode as well. There's no denying that Transformers War for Cybertron was dripping with atmosphere, from the bleakness of the Kaon prison, to the chaos of the assault on Iacon or the pursuit by Omega Supreme that followed. Every element of Cybertron was carefully crafted to create that unique feeling of a mechanical world ravaged by war. And it's not just us fans who feel that way! In IGN's "Best of 2010" awards, Transformers War for Cybertron has been nominated for the "coolest atmosphere" 2010 - XBox360 - Reader's choice award.
