why do i think that THIS place- above anything I follow on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook- is the place to avoid until I've seen EndGame?
|
Honestly, Evolution had pretty solid character designs.
Plus X-23 originated there. Though she definitely had a darker skin tone than her comic incarnation. Kinda like how Harley Quinn originated from Batman: The Animated Series. Edit: I kinda want to get one of those KO BAF Jubilees to modify into a better version of Toy Biz X-23 now... |
Endgame... no spoilers of course, but they could have done a lot to cut the length and tighten up the story. Tonally, it was a roller coaster (and not necessarily in a good way). A lot of unnecessary padding. A lot of stuff to like, but also a lot that I'll happly nitpick, which is a rarity for these.
I'm just glad that we can now move on. I feel like the Russos' films have been an obligation, rather than an experience, when compared to the solo outings (Ragnarok, BP, CM, etc) |

The film wasn't bad by any stretch, but it really could have used some ironing out in a few ways. |

I'll iron YOU out!!! |
Not reading anything that has been posted until later tonight.
I did pick up a Kraven 2-pack at Target even though I initially thought the entire pack was stupidly designed. Kraven’s paint work is pretty awesome, specifically the face. From a distance it’s pretty ridiculous, but up close it’s pretty satisfying. The beat-to-shit Parker head is also pretty well done, and the rifle is nice...bland, but unique. I’m going to grab my Kravens and Black Suit Spideys and see which I’m going to let go. I’ll try to get them up on my BST thread this weekend. I also got another IW two pack since I’m sure I’ll want to complete the team after seeing Endgame tonight. |
They had a single set of the new X-Men wave (minus Beast) at Wal-Mart today and I picked up Weapon X as a little early birthday present since it more than likely won't be there next Thursday.

Sayonara, Russos...It's been fun, but gets to steppin'...new blood, fresh ideas, and different visions are needed for this next chapter. I can't wait for the end because it's always followed by a new beginning... |

Just saw Endgame, those Quantum Realm figures are pretty inaccurate...

With the soft reboot that most have theorized as necessary to introduce the FF and X-men, there will, hopefully, be a reshuffling of directorial talent and a new macro-vision (is it too much to hope for Feige’s exit also???). I’d love for Blue Marvel to show up, but I’d want him to be treated seriously. Part of what’s been discordant for me in MCU flicks this past decade is the over reliance on humor. Some is fine, but too much (which is, of course, subjective) grates. I’d love a Nova movie also; maybe Richard could steal his personality back from Chris Pratt, although, truthfully speaking, he was never as much of a doofus as the MCU pigeonholed Star Lord into. I’m also on board for a War Machine movie and would dig if they gave that Chuck Austen “US War Machine 2.0” series a shot on the big screen; I really liked that mini. I’ve honestly never thought of a Black Knight flick, but that could work – start with Dane, then hit us with a period prequel featuring Nathan, which could also serve to highlight the Masters. Speaking of prequels/sequels, in this new chapter I’d like to see a departure away from the episodic nature of these past films. More one-offs would please me greatly and serve well to touch on the depth and breadth of the Marvel Universe. Gimme a solo Surfer film (the one Fox - fortunately - never got the chance to fuck up)…or Quasar, or Warlock. Make a one shot horror of Ghost Rider, Manthing, or Satana (unlikely, but it’d be very cool). In short: no more ‘formulas for box office’…personally, that’s when they lost me and these movies became like any other Hollywood cookie-cutter dreck. …I’m now done with tangential movie talk and will not respond to any more discussion. This is final. |

I don't know anything about Deathshead but sure why not. They have a lot of shoes to fill now. |
Oh my god, my Target finally got in a brand new Marvel wave today. It was amazing as they haven't stocked anything new since the Apocalypse wave. What they got in was the Cull Obsidian wave.
Wait a minute... |
Okay bm how about a lighthearted buddy movie thats still serious about two guys with powers who are thrust into a situation that they have to work together to solve. One is the whizzer and the is the blue marvel.
