Are they selling the 6" Ghostbusters at Big Lots or just the bigger items?

Finally got my package from Amazon that contained Avengers Assemble Hulk and Falcon and Marvel Universe Mysterio and Captain America.
Yes New Hulk is very nice. The only drawback is you can't move his wrist. New Falcon is an improvement over single pack Marvel Universe Falcon. He has a thicker body. His head mold is bigger and rounder. The wings are smaller than the mu version. They run the length of the arm unlike the mu version that extend pass the arm. Of course new falcon has the hip ball joint and swivel thigh that mu falcon did not have. New Falcon does not come with Red Wing. I'm very pleased with the new Falcon. Captain America - to me is a slight disappointment. My default Cap is the one with the Magneto two pack. New cap is a nice darker blue. His neck is made a certain way that makes his head position slight down. No chain mill on the blue upper chest area. No white star on the back. The gloves are smaller. He does have wrist movement unlike my default. He also has that thigh swivel action. The boots don't appeal to me. My verdict - they can do better. Don't break you neck to get him if you are on the fence. |

I actually want to grab many of him, just to replace some of the stupid gimic shields that came with various other Cap figures I have. Agreed on the Falcon though! I have the single carded one and the classic one from the two pack as well, and this is easily the best of the bunch! He's full perfect. :D |
So today I went on an epic hunt, I live in the center of the triangle of big cities in Tennessee, Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, I hit them all. 8 TRUs, 16 WMs, 8 Targets, 5 TJ Maxxes, 5 Rosses, 7 Big lots, 14 Walgreens, a few Krogers and 2 Hastings.... not a SINGLE FREEKIN MU FIGURE!!!! not one! I'm not talking "none I don't have" not "none I'm looking for" not a single freekin one! I've been driving from 6:45 AM to 10:56 PM, consistently exceeding the speed limit, stopping only long enough to search for my crack, and pissing in Gatorade bottles, 185$ in gas, with nothing to show for it except the sound and unquestionable realization that Hasbro has screwed the pooch with this 5POA bullshit. I saw literally every 5POA figure that is on the market, every The Wolverine, IM3, AA, and POS 5POA MU rip off they make, that (in MU standards) would be like finding every figure and variant from the last 4 waves in one day. I believe, with just cause and reason, that I've solved the mystery of why there screwing with what appears to be the only successful format they have... stock boys... who else benefits from shit-caning the only line that actually moves? the damn stock boys!! no MU no sales, no sales no empty shelves, full shelves more time to ogle the cute cashere, or sit out back and smoke. that's gotta be it. its the only logical conclusion! trust me I've had plenty of time to think about it. but I will say everyone had empty pegs for MU, so I'm guessing all those crates you see in the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the lost Ark are in fact full of MU figures. Hasbro, you owe me gas money!

just curious, are you against pre-ordering or ordering online?

SEVEN HELLS! Your trip makes Frodo's look like popping out for ice cream! Epic and tragic just like all good journey tales, I'm sorry you lost much and more. It sounds like Hasbro is gonna pull a Titanic and sell out to Disney Co. Inc. ! |

My friend, im gonna be brutally honest with you. The money and time you spent could have been saved in this case just ordering them online. They are going up on HTS soon anyways. dont get me wrong, I love going on toy hunts, cause finding that jem at retail makes it all worth it. But, the fact of the matter is you spent OVER 12 HOURS driving looking for toys. |
I feel even better ordering the mysterio wave online. All that driving wasting time and gas translate to waste of money.
|
What a waste. Wow.

This is part of the reason I stopped collecting MU, too many repaints and multipacks, with me being a completest and I found myself spending more on gas/taxi's looking for the little bastards, then what it was worth. It was getting very expensive/annoying, Also online ordering costs more for shipping and in some cases import fees because I'm in Canada. I know MU is getting better for the most part with better figures, but their selection at retail is horrible. My TRU and 2 local comic shops carry them, that's it, Walmart stopped. I've sold off 95% of my MU collection. I do have a huge box left though full of in scale furniture, props, entire collection of Toybiz ML sentinel bases which look awesome with MU figures. A handful of figures, a custom painted jet, vehicles etc, I can give pics upon request, interested in selling the whole lot for $120 + shipping. or trade for newer ML figures or wanted items.

Kylactus I'm sorry you got jipped, that sucks. On a completely related note while not trying to rub it in your face, I just got my BBTS wave! Electra doesn't have derp eyes! You gotta give ordering a chance. It's amazing when I think about how much hunting and hopelessness I saved myself by ordering this. Sure the hunt is some of the best portion of this hobby but when it stinks due to distribution it stinks.

Thanks guys, I do order online, My Mysterio wave is at the post office as we speak (ironically it came in wile I was hunting), But there is something about the hunt that I enjoy, the joy of seeing what else is out there, running into the occasional fellow collector and having a toy isle bitch fest, and just being out of the house. Its like hunting animals I guess (not my cup of tea personally) it's not all about the kill. and if you don't get out there sometimes you miss out on stuff we don't always see coming, like charged up electro, never got a heads up on that and then boom there it was on the shelf. so don't weep for me the journey is the nobler part sometimes.... that said I'm still chapped.
|
Wait, hold on a minute, you spent all that time and energy hunting for them when you had them coming in the mail the whole time? I cant even comprehend this. You didn't even have to go out.

No offense bro, I mean you know, we're still Internet bros and all, it's just bros should be honest with each other and frankly......... http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=aiqLuDEiDow |
I was looking more for some hole fillers and stragglers in my IM2 hall of armor (hence the discount stores) hoping against hope to maybe find a dark Galactus, something for customs, spares to open, or like I said maybe an unannounced variant. I wouldn't have been shocked if I already had everything I saw, but bare ass pegs, everywhere! I would have bought a Gladiator or Wrecker for god sake! on a side note has anyone seen the Mortal Kombat 3.75 figures? I'm thinking they might be some good custom fodder. They were marked clearance at TRU, I'm not sure about the articulation though.
