I mean, I get that you're referring to Spider-Verse, but still. Not exactly the new hotness.

A matter of semantics haha. I'm sure they'll be around for a bit and it's cool that gray Hulk and first appearance Cap are on there, but I'd have preferred some other heroes (or maybe a few less heroes and an equal amount of classic villains?) Or at the BARE MINIMUM, spread out the Spider-powered characters across the image space hahaha

hasbroherofan 05-11-2019 07:43 PM

It didn't really bug me but that's mostly because I thought the point was to show the past and the present (hence the Silver Age Cap, Thor and Hulk and the Golden Age Torch).

Big Time Spidey is up for pre-order.

Yeah, and also everyone up there either has, has just had, or is soon going to have a cartoon, tv series, or movie or DVD to push.

Call a bunch of GameStop...They all said, ‘We have Beast but he is for a pre-order.’ So went to Walgreens and jackpot...

Note: I have a feeling the 80th Anniversary stuff is coming soon than later!

Nice haul. I found a beast as well. I just need forge and funderoos vr helmet wolverine,

Dr Kain 05-12-2019 01:36 PM

Still nothing here in CO as far as X-Men and Endgame waves are concerned. I'm not even sure my stores are going to get the Far From Home wave considering stores still have Morbius, Boomerang, Beetle, female Beetle, Tombstone, and Speed Demon on them between the various stores. One of my Walmarts even has 2 Prowlers and 6 Gwenpools.

Why do they always throw Constrictor in there with the classic Serpent Society? He turned them down- and even ratted them out to the Avengers because he thought they would end up taking too many of "his" jobs... (Captain America #310 (1985) It's a great classic story line) Eventually- like 2017 eventually- his son, a totally different Constrictor, apparently joins the Society but seeing as how he has ONE appearance to his name- it's a pretty weak connection.

Princess Python is almost completely indistinguishable from Poison Ivy.

The original art there (not the one I reposted, which is from one of the sourcebooks) actually has a line crossing out Constrictor.

HA! That's awesome. And as it should be- Him NOT being a member was kind of his running joke... and it also presses home his son's hatred of him that he joined after he dies since everyone knows his dad was so anti-Serpent Society.

So he was anti-reptilian.....? Haha.

Awesome. Beast is the only one I have yet to see in-store. I snagged him last week from Pulse before he sold out there again. There's something special about those "in the wild" finds, though.

Man, I hope you're right. I've been pretty well caught up for about a week now, and I'm already jonesin' for more.

Trivial Psychic 05-12-2019 07:35 PM

I finally received my Hydra Supreme box set which I had sitting in my loot pile for BBTS for a little while, and I'm really happy how he turned out. My only gripes were a lack of an unmasked head sculpt, and the way the shield was done (using the old flip clip system that immediately shows signs of stress the first time you clip it to his arm.)

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...b3b13a_k_d.jpg

That said...I just wanted to show off a quick mod to the shield I did using magnets. I removed the base of the flip clip from the shield, (which is very easy) and then removed the clip itself before gluing magnets to the bracket and the shield itself.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...259a07_k_d.jpg

Now it rests perfectly on Cap's arm, and can completely rotate, allowing him to widen it out for protection (something that was impossible to do before thanks to the clip,) and then quickly turn it forwards to attack with.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...badf25_k_d.jpg

It's a quick and easy mod I highly recommend you guys try as it instantly improves the figure ten fold!

She has a snake fetish instead of a plant one.

Very nice. I hope they redo that figure in the normal Civil Warrior colors sometime down the line.

Given that they sculpted the head with the faceplate down, I'd say it's inevitable (Hydra Supreme usually left his mouth exposed).

Triv, if/when I get that set, I may need to make the same mod. I hate how much I actually like the final figure, given that Secret Empire was a flaming pile. Eh, plastic crack trumps terrible stories, I suppose.

I've seen this set a few times in local Gamestops and Best Buys. So far I have been able to resist, although the Zola looks quite cool. I still like the old BAF one (I even have 2 so I can have the Red Skull version), but that blue laughing face looks pretty cool too!
