I finally found the professor at Target after seeing nothing but the Deadpool scooter everywhere else. The box was crushed on the right end like someone dropped it but nothing in the box was affected by this. Speaking of the box though, I love that the cardboard insert behind the packing bubble is taken from the '90s cartoon. Regarding the figure itself I have nothing to complain about. The paint on the eyes is just off from where it should be but it's pretty minor to the point of only really being noticed in close-up inspection. I dig everything about his hoverchair from the slide-open computer-module armrests to the lap-blanket to keep the figure in place. The Cerebro helmet is nice, its effect piece less so. I'm just really at a loss with the Shadow King head though because I think it came out fantastic but I have nothing to do with it, even if I had the Kingpin BAF I wouldn't sac it to have Shadow King so now I just have this head sitting around. Overall I'm glad to have found him. I think now the thing I would most like to see with these kinds of deluxe releases would be a Lockjaw and Crystal set.

Oh, for sure, on the fun of dialogues revolving around fig opinions. My opening preamble was an attempt to defuse any hard feelings given that my "no bueno" (an innocuous statement imo) was conflated with some larger sentiment disparaging the figs (a sentiment that I was unaware of since the Ark is the only toy-media I consume). My comments can often be interpreted as caustic (they're intended to be candid/unvarnished), so when I know I'm about to say something 'unpopular' that's a departure from conventional thinking, I add caveats to avoid having to engage in silliness. The advent of the internet has had a strange effect on conversation. People naturally seek 'sameness' and a gregarious and flocking nature is not a surprising trait to find in others. However the internet has developed an offputting trend towards a balkanization of thought in which people have become increasingly intolerant to opinions and ideas outside of their comfort zone. Now don't get me wrong, some individuals spout divisive and hateful messages that I applaud the rejection of, but we are approaching a point in which almost everything is becoming a flashpoint topic. So what if I don't like what you do and vice versa? There are levels to this shit and not everything should represent a line in the sand.

Walgreens and Walmart exclusives are a real pain.
With Walgreens, I've never seen a Silver Surfer. I missed the chance to pick up Mystique online. The biggest issue I have with them is their online stock status saying they have things when they don't. It really doesn't help that every Walgreens near me is at least 20 minutes away, then about 10 minutes to reach another.

Walmart is a problem on a per store basis. The ones near me tend to let their action figure aisles become barren before possibly opening new boxes of toys. Add in local scalpers and that means shelves will often be left empty within an hour of opening (most Walmarts near me aren't 24/hours anymore).

I've had a lot more success with Target exclusives, with the exception of the Spider-Verse 2 pack that I saw between paychecks and then it totally vanished. Earlier this week I ran into a Spider-Man and Kraven pack someone tried to hide in the Nerf Aisle behind a few Six Armed Spider-Man figures. That same Target had an employee restocking shelves who had a case of Endgame 2-packs on their cart.

I've seen it on Ebay from Taiwanese sellers. Has this actually been spotted already on American shelves? What's the source?

Why even give a store that doesn't give a shit about toys an exclusive.

This is something that needs to be brought up at the next Hasbro panel when SDCC rolls around, especially after the Walmart exclusive fiascos concerning Legends and Black Series this year. Incredibly spotty distribution, pre orders being canceled and charged multiple times, and lackadaisical stocking are serious concerns, and if "the world's greatest toy store" isn't up to the task, then they should eat a bag of shit while Hasbro finds someone else to provide us with these exclusives. There should be audible boos every single time Walmart is mentioned by the panel, and if they open up it up to questions, someone needs to press Hasbro on the topic, as opposed to the dipshits that ask Dwight and company the same redundant questions about Jim Lee Storm and double jointed elbows on female figures every year.

You've picked up something for me before that i could never find.
My walmarts (and there are a lot of them ) are shit..

That is a very broad statement. It's like saying certain species of fish live in water.

Not all of us are subscribed to all the various outlets of social media or live on Reddit. Many of us don't have the time or energy. I've conducted several base Google (and Ebay) searches and it has turned up nothing about it already being found or spotted. All I'm asking is where exactly were these claims being made? IG? Twitter? YouTube? Some pics or links would help as well, as it keeps cries of "wolf" here to a minimum.

Marvelousnews.com is reporting that the new Cap figure has been found by someone at a Walmart in Tennessee. So here we go...

Nash, we could really use you right now...lol.

Anyone who runs into it and is able to grab an extra...let's talk.

It's okay, you can say Shartimus Prime and JayC.

From what I saw on Marvelous, I guess the entire upper torso is new somehow, too?

Never owned any movie Cap figures, so I couldn't say for certain.

Road tripping through the mountains this weekend. I’m going to plot a way to hit a few Walmart’s and comic shops while I’m in western NC...if any exist.

Never saw Binary CM either....never even saw her in hand, and I’m a part of 2-3 different Facebook groups devoted to Legends/customs. I just assumed she was holding out for a DVD release.

I just found the new cap in Walmart in Sparta TN... the middle of nowhere. I didnt even know what it was, as I had not heard of it before.... the whole upper part and heads are new, the lower body ( legs and crotch) are from IW cap. The hermit head is perfect! The big reason this one didn’t make it in a line, I think, is the spoiler accessory... which if you don’t know yet what the fuk are you doing here? And the shield... and other accessory, are new.
Edit: the shield is a repaint of the quantum suit cap, and the shoulder pads are soft goods deco, instead of being sculpted on. It makes him look beefier.

The pics don’t really capture how good the faces look up close, but this is the best cap I’ve seen yet, I haven’t got the crossbones set yet, but this is for sure my definitive cap.... now where the hell did this come from? Did anyone see this coming?

Also, don’t know if anyone else figured this out, but the blast rings from the iron man booster effects look pretty good for jubilees power...

En Sabah Nerd 05-24-2019 02:12 PM

Since I got the Crossbones set last year I'm planning on skipping this new Cap, it does look better because of the body but I'm already looking at too many other new Legends to double-dip on MCU Steve.

kylactus 05-24-2019 02:24 PM

If you do decide to get one, he looks really good in hand, I had no need or want for another cap, especially after how shitty the QR suit cap came out, the Body’s all wrong for caps proportions, the helmets glaringly inaccurate, and potato shaped. And the constant re packing of the civil war cap what was it three or five times. But when I saw it in hand it’s like comparing the first avengers Walmart Thor to the endgame Thor. But check the paint! I just noticed mines got some minor, but once you see you can’t unsee, stuff that’s driving me nuts... think I need to go get another one. The stars silver paint is off the mark by a mile, and the line between red and white is all mangled. And I don’t think it’s a defect, but for the first time they didn’t paint the shoulder buckles silver... but it’s the first one to get the chin strap right....

Holy f******* sh*t...are you kidding me?

Considering all 3 auctions are from the same guy, it would not surprise me if he actually works at Walmart. Scumbaggery at its peak.

Boy Blunder 05-24-2019 02:29 PM

...couldn't consolidate those into one post, could ya? :D

Yeah what an ass hole... as I run out the door to nab the rest of the case. Just kidding I’m way too lazy for that.
